Man I just got my first order from 1000 bulbs .com,wanted to do a small one before I ordered a bunch of 1K hortilux. My 2 400s seem fine,my 1 K MH has frickin glass shards in it.If it even works its going to be affected in a bad way, this bites.Anyone deal with them exclusively for their lamps?Good service bad service?Do I have to ship the lamp back at my own expense?

I must take pride in recomending 1000bulbs I discovered them in 1999 and staerted recomending them on Overgrow... I deal with them exclusively and have never had a single issue with them. I found them by doing a search locally for bulbs and called them went to their wharehouse to pick up my items, only to find out once I was there they had a website.. infact 3-4 lighting websites 1000bulbs being the one directed to public sales

So if you are in the N Texas area you can even go pick up your items to save shipping cost(they accept cash also.. no having to charge it is nice)
or you can order from their website.... and rest assured you will get what you ordered in perfect condition or they will make it right... I have never had them ship an item since they are so close but I have heard that ppl that had a busted bulb had a new one shipped with out having to send the broke one back.. pretty sure they discuss how it works on the website.

I can tell you what they did for me tho that was nice, I bought a 430w HPS bulb from them and when I got it home the base was connected slightly off of level with the bulb so the end of the bulb pointed off of a centerline ... I called them and they replaced it for me and gave me a bunch of new Xmas lights they had as samples when i took it back to them...due to the hassle of returning it to them

They are a great bunch of ppl... its a 10 man operation tops... nice little mom and pop business you cant go wrong by using them

I had the feeling,I'm on the east coast I tried calling and forgot about the time difference lol.I've never seen shards of glass inside the envelope of a 1K MH,or any other lamp for that matter. The 2 400s are fired up in my sun systems combo and the 6 WW underneath just thanked me.I'll tell you one thing, the price for 1 K hortilux which is all I'll use to flower is ridiculous at any growshop,119.00 is the best I'll find around here.I like to change once a year it'll be nothing at these prices.I dont know if I should ship it back or not to tell you the truth,my girls are fine under the 800 for another week or so.Yea,I like the place even though so far I'm not sure about this specific lamp

Just to make folks aware in case they didnt know, the envelope on the 400W MH I ordered is inches larger than the commercial MH I bought at the store, the difference in surface area and brightness is very visable.I had the feeling when I put the 400 in it looked a little small, like a damn 250 lol. This 400 is actually closer in size to a 1K MH,its going to make a huge difference.I KNEW when I was using horty lamps for veg like agrosun and hortilux that in my combo the lamps were nearly touching end to end, when I put in the standard lamps there was a 5 or 6 inch gap!Just thought folks may want to know this because I've been growing for years and just now realized it lol.EDIT HPS lamps are identical in size according to wattage

so the bulb is intact but just has glass shards inside the an unbroken bulb? If so I would also call them about it but it doesnt sound like it should be a problem unless the shards are big enough they touch/interact with the HPS element

i've seen this place before, but am hesitant about buying from them. why? I know their price are cheap, BUT, are the bulbs in the right spectrums? or do they just come close? are these meant for growing? or for business lighting such as outdoors, parking lot, stadium, gym, etc. I say this because I've seen some people rave about getting 30$ bulbs (which would never be horticulture bulbs)

note: go to their horticulture lighting sections, prices don't seem all that different to me. infact, it may even be higher. and there isn't much selection.

Hello all,

I have used 1000bulbs twicwe without regret.

Example:

AT HD I was looking at the 26w cfl's at 6200K...the price was about 7:90 a bulb. I needed six.

I also needed a 250w hsp....did nothave one in stock but I recall about 20 buxs before.

Well, I ordered 8 26w 6400K cfls and a 250w standard sulvania lu250 for 48 and change including shipping. So at 6 bulbs for 7.99 is about 42 bux plus tax and no hps bulb...for 48 bux to my door I recieved 8 26w 6400F cfls and a hps bulb.....

AnD I did not need to go out of my house.

Of course the cfls are chinese made but have a 5 year guarenty.

They also sell good quality commercial lamps for cheap,EYE is the manufacturer I look for in a HID.You can get cheaper commercial lamps, but none better IMO

their cheaper lamps are generic of the named brand.... ie.... the EYE branded bulbs and the generic Hortilux bulbs are made in the same manufacturing plant as are the phillips bulbs iirc correctly.... So it seems according to 1000bulbs that all the bulbs manufacturers are in China.... I think the confusion ppl have when thy look at all the diff HID bulbs on the site is that that the phillips,EYE and the no name bulbs are all made at the same factory and have only slightly differing part #s

The sales guys there can explain it better than I can... I asked these questions about 7yrs ago so my memory is sketchy

I was pretty dissapointed in 1000Bulbs selection of 250W MH bulbs. I ended up getting the Sylvania one they offer. I was hoping for more of a choice there. Eh, but it was cheap :)

My 1k hort bulb has been burning bright for a month now on 12/12. No regrets on the 1000bulbs order.

Man I dont fuckin believe it,the replacement 1K MH they sent has more shards of glass in the envelope than the first one! This is crap,I'm gonna fire up the first one now lol. They did get the replacement to me quickly, but glass shards in the envelope definately cuts down on lamp life.I'm going to call them today just to let them know they have to check all EYE 1K MH lamps for shards,I cant believe this is happening in transit.

I wont be buying commercial halides from an electrical supply or HD anymore for sure,in both cases the 400W and 1K MH,the lamps are physically much larger than what I bought from the elc supply.Man I thought they both looked a little small,I know my 1K MH barely used to fit in the 1K hydrofarm fixture, the elec supply lamp was a good 3 or 4 inches shorter and not nearly as wide.Same with the 400MH,in my combo fixture the 400MH and HPS used to nearly touch tip to tip, again I had a good 3 or 4 inch space in between.Hell I'm an electrician and didnt realize this,I knew the envelopes come in different sizes but wasnt aware of the big difference in physical size.HPS commercial lamps remain the same size no matter the manufacturer, its the MH that are different
