Farmers I Need help making up my mind. I have 6 large girls in 5 gal coco buckets. 10 x 13 room with 24k btu AC.

Should I do 5 k bare bulb vert with 4 large girls in cages each getting hit with 3 lights ( I would bump the lesser 2 girls behind 2 rear bulbs or under a hood in next room)

Never been a better big plant setup than the 5 light X pattern with 4 plants in a diamond pattern where as you stated each plant gets hit by 3 bare bulbs hangin at all times....but.....

in a 10x10 room not 10x13.....maybe you could hang a reflective curtain to close it down 3 '....

I ran krusty buckets with the same setup for over a decade with dialed results of 10 lb rooms consistently with the right hybrid....

Big plants need 5x5 area to thrive in and will grow more sideways than normal with vertical lights , but we always looked for the proper 50/50 Sat/Ind hybrid that would grow up as much vertically as sideways once pullin the trigger till end of stretch....anyways....

My 2 cents from all those yrs....Good luck and.....

Back in the day we were taught to staple chickenwire to the ceilings and tie lateral limbs up vertically while opening the plants up as well for max airflow around and through em.....

We were also taught to clean out the "innards" on each lateral and get rid of sucker branches and all plant matter away from the mainstems , and sorry to say I`ve never used cages that would prevent me from getting inside and keepin shit cleaned out before the flip as well as directly after end of stretch all the way through end of cycle....anyways....

Many ways ta skin a mule and cages will work...there`s also plant yoyo`s that are adjustable and easy to work with but yas still need chickenwire on the ceilings....regardless.....whatever you decide on , make sure the insides are good and cleaned out before the caging....and....

Good luck....DHF...:ying:.....

I've been growing hybrid clones since 2001 in hybrid rooms. LED for intense red/blue chlorophyll feed. CMH for full spectrum leaf enetration. Fluorescent for regulated UVB. Passive full spectrum LED bars as well.

The 2 kw of fluorescent and passive LED surround the plant as if it were a vertical grow.
The 4 kw of CMH and Blurple LED are gridded above the plants for maximum exposure for the most plants, similar to the diagrams in this thread.

I did back to back harvests using all 6 kw above the plants versus 4 kw above and 2 kw to the side.
Splitting the light gave a 15% advantage over having all the light on top. Now even my seedling table has side lighting and UVB.

The bud room holds four to six plants and the lazy average is a pound a month. I was energetic for a couple years and got two pounds a month.
Turns out I am the largest variable governing the harvest weight.
