1 pound grow in my c13...(2-litre scrog q's?)

well I've done all the math , and I know my strain real well. (MTF x Blockhead)

and I have clones, and can make many clones from the moms...i have (3) moms

all I have is a c13 flower cab (4.5 sq feet) w/ 450 watts hps ...and a c4 veg cab w/ 70 watts hps and (3) floros.

I have to shut down the grow for a couple weeks in a couple months. I'll be ready to hit it hard again after the short layof , and have some mad breeding projects in the works, and a HUGE new grow space too. :canabis:

so in the last grow or so... I'm gonna test my skills, and try for a 1 pound harvest from my c13 cab ...and I have the plan.

I have (3 )moms from my "monster" pheno (yields almost 2 oz's each under pretty crammed indoor conditions)

I can cram 16 2-litre pop bottles in there and hope for 1 oz per plant (thats cutting my current yield in half)

what do u guys think?

I'm not gonna add more light or more space right now, so I wanna maximize the 1 grow for huge yield.

I think the 2 litre soda bottle supercrop from 3 week vegged clones would do it....?

also do I need to adjust the soil medium to do this right (more or less perlite?) etc...? I can afford all the nutes I need if it means I can scrimp on space for the grow...I know I have to account for roots too, but from just a 3 week veg it should be ok ...barely)

Thats some very fine looking budds you have there. Keep up the great work. Have you ever tried grow bags for something like that.

2L Pop Bottle SOG

2L Pop Bottle SOG

I had posted this in the 250W HPs thread, I figure its pretty relevent here to.

Since I am unable to start a new thread I'm goign to post this in here..

A user on overgrow did a large grow log of a 2L pop bottle SOG, If I recall correctly the average yield from each plant was about 7-10 grams each.

So the scenario would be a 2.5'x2.5'x3' box, a single 250W HPS. This would fit approximately 36 Bottles. Therefore your total yeild would be about 250 Grams, over 1/2 Pound. So say you use a 2 month strain, clone straight to(maybe max 1 month to root and verg a liitle) flower. Using two boxes you could produce a full pound in 3 months max.

Since overgrow was shut down I never got a chance to read the entire thread.

Has anyone looked into this further or done it themselves?

P.S. What diameter are those 3 litre bottles, and if you have any 2 ltires could you measure them? I assumed 5" diameter for the 2 litre.

If you know the plant so well... how much does it yield with 3 weeks of veg? I don't think the roots will be too happy being in that small ass space for almost 3 months... If I was confined to that space, I would try and add some kind of soil/soilless bed underneath the bottles so the roots have more room to grow... if you can veg them for 3 weeks with 100w a sq ft, yes you will most likely get an O a plant.. I just don't see it happening with two liter bottles >.< PROVE ME WRONG THOUGH!!!!! Give me hope and inspiration =]

im rooting for you man. i also grow in a c13. i posted in the c13 club about yields and i believe the highest we agreed that was documented was about 9 ounces. at least that is what i have seen and read. going from 9 ounces to 16 for the highest yield will be tough. i think the sog might be the only way. i have 6 plants that are about 30 inches tall in my c13. i lsted all of them and it is a decent canopy. i still do not think i will yield 9 ounces, but i want to try and document it the best i can.. good luck, ill be watching and rooting for you.

I say go for it yukno
you have worked this strain ALOT. I dunno why you want to cut your yield in half unless its an experiment to see how they do in the 2 liters, but i did a run in one gallon milk jugs just to try and speed thigns up. i took a loss on yield, but speed was there, i went from seed to harvest in 11 weeks, so that made it worth it for me.
Good luck with this grow! i cant wait to see your new space! :D :D :D

i've always thought someone with the right yeilding strain and good lighting could easily get a lb. from a c13. Show us how it is done :)

When time is not on your side, and plant numbers are not a concern for whatever reason (this one is space of course)...SOG is your friend

Funny that u asked about perlite. I'm assuming you're using soil with added perlite? If so I would go with 50-70 percent perlite depending on how much u plan on being away from the grow. If u can get them to where they need water every 1-2 days then yield will dramatically improve over conventional soil. You probably won't even need to give them 3 weeks veg, maybe more like 2, but every little bit counts. In fact you might think of a more true soilless medium such as coir or rockwool.

What were they in when they yielded 2 oz. each? You know your strain you can probably pull it off. :joint:

very possible, especially if scrogged and trained like a wildman... go for it and report back with stellar results!

thanks for the response guys....I'll answer a couple q's, and I may have more myself.

The title of the thread should be SOG not SCROG...I did a couple SCROG's and didnt really like all the mess of plants in the screen....even though the buds were above...just kind of wierd in my opinin.

I did think of the growbags, and I think I'll do that...totally forgot about it tho.

...or if anyone knows a source for tall, skinny, square plastic pots?

my 2oz plants were in ffof soil w/ about 33% perlite....same as all my mature plants.

I may veg them normal for 4 weeks and give 1/2 of them a root trim and a transplant a couple days before flower.....any thoughts on that?

I dont wanna cut my yield in half, I'm just trying to underestimate each plants potential, since I'll be putting them in a "less than Ideal" situation.

maybe I'd have a better chance goin w/ just 8 and hoping they all produce 2oz...I have clones from the same mom, so its do-able....and the fit in there that way already in my 2gal pots...which is what I always finish them in (they are barely rootbound by the end)

I like experimenting though, and I think I have a better chance w/ 16...maybe I can even pull out an Oz or 2 more than the pound.

any other thoughts?

I never thought about the benefits of more perlite in the mix....It would work good for me that way I'm sure especially since I feed my soil grows w/ hydro nutes.

thanks again guys.

I am doing a C24 and I see no reason not to be able to pull a pound each harvest. I have Sour D , Sage and Straawberry d and with a C24 I think it is quite doable. C13 might be a bit tight but doable as well. good luck and good grow

personally yukon, and this is just me, i would just go with 8 plants... if you veg those clones for 3 weeks in 2l's, they will get bound by the end of harvest, and that is not good at all...

Indeed.... Im all for this working out.. and hope it does, but i think you may be disapointed. I would get an Aero cloner...or make one if your handy. and as soon as those cuts show a root sprout stick em in and hit the lights.

So whats up Yukon any updates?

took 10 great cuts from (3) of my moms today....I'm gonna transplant then flower the moms starting today.

clones will go into flower in about a month and Im gonna go w/ the healthiest 8 and take my chances on pulling off 2oz's each (since I did it w/ the original from seed it should be do-able)

I may take 1 or 2 more cuts today to start a couple new moms.

Ill keep u guys posted
