Well, like many pot busts that get posted here, the guy was a complete fucking idiot. Don't drive around with a shitload of weed in your freaking trunk if you don't have a driver's license. His car wouldn't have been impounded if the asshat had a driver's license.

Police Chief David Rice says officers discovered the drugs after impounding the man's silver Toyota Camry because he didn't have a driver's license.

Well lets see...
1.3 mil / 146 lbs = $8,904 and some change per pound.
Man I gotta be growing the wrong strains!

Whats funny, is that its undoubtedly commercial mexi brick. Which even at street dealer prices isn't going to pull in more than $2k/lb. I'd say they inflated that estimate by about a million dollars. :muahaha:

Oh yea, Howdy Chief...

"They found 146 pounds of marijuana in a duffel bag..."

How the hell was a 72 year old man carrying a 146 pound duffel bag?? :bashhead:

Almost every time I read about a story such as this one, when cops intercept a drug transport, it's because the vehicle was not in order, the driver didn't respect traffic regulations, or acted in an erratic way that gave the cops reasonable suspicion to do a search.

A US police officer can legally stop any vehicle at any time and ask to see the driver's license. They can ask questions such as where are you going and why? This is what is termed a 'Vehicle Stop'. You can get through a vehicle stop with a "Have a nice day sir" if you and your car respect safety regulations, your papers are in order and you behave in a normal way.

Section 1 of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act (PACE) gives police power to search people and vehicles for stolen goods, weapons, drugs and explosives on the basis of reasonable suspicion.

So you don't give police any reasonable suspicion to perform a vehicle search. You make sure the vehicle respects standard safety regulations to the letter, you don't smoke roaches in the car, you don't dress in gang colors, you don't speed, you don't freak out or express great contempt for the law enforcement... and you don't put a 72 year old mofo without a driver's licence in a car carrying 146 pounds of Cannabis.

It's going to be a dry weekend in Maryland...

Ahhhh big fuckin' deal. They haven't even begun to see the surface that they want to scratch. Fuckin' pigs.....

I think I'm going to go jerk off to the fact that even though they "achieved" this little bust....there's a million other grow operations currently undetected and providing the herbal needs of anyone who wants ganja.

Heads are gonna roll after this one. Notice how they didnt mention his name? You know he was just a runner. I'd be willing to bet he was Vietnamese. You can bet he is working a deal with the Feds as we speak.
