O'Kief tumbler

i know, there's lots of info at OG (ugh), but i want to hear what the people HERE think.

i got the O'kief tumbler . i now have enough trim to do a "run"

trim/popcorn is in freezer. after the younglings are in bed, i plan to "go for a spin"

any comments/complaints on this unit?

should i press my results, or leave them "powdered"-for vaporizing-

i will let you know how things "turn" out...

p.s. I hope bubbleman isn't offended cause i didn't get bubblebags... :friends:

I stopped rupturing heads by compression a couple years ago and have never looked back. Kif powder is a beautiful thing and hits better than a compressed hash ball and is much more versitile, IMO.

Cant wait to see what your tumbler does

i wish i had a kiff tumbler soo bad....and i also wish i had enough plants to fill it but yea from what ive seen there the best and the easyest ..enjoy... i only have a 12x12 kiff box

Well, i must say...i'm very happy with the results.

my "scale"(P.O.S.)only reads in 5 g. increments, so i really have no way to accurately measure the outcome, but it filled a small pill jar...enough to make me Happy, Happy!~!!

i did put some in a press, but i think i'll keep the rest loose.

tried some in the vaporizer, oh my god....great stone!!

i started with approx. 70 g. of trim/popcorn...mostly trim. next time i won't even bother with some of the stuff i had been saving for this run. it's funny how fast you turn into a "snob" i remember when i would kill for a bag of trim, now i don't even want it..Haha!

anyway, i'm happy with the results. cheers!

Sleepy where did you get your tumbler. I was looking at bubblebags, but hadn't heard bout the tumbler.

I just got to try keef & I LOVE it / I am an old hash head from way back / & I am going order one when I get enough good trim off my first few grows /

These tumberls are great, well, they look great, im sending my dosh away very soon, it was my interest that got him to do a 240v motor, lol, goood old meeeee, lol

I really enjoy smoking kief. It's just so versatile. You can top off a bowl, use it for blunts, joints, or even compress it. Ive never used a tumbler, my box is only 4x4 but gets the job done nicely. Your definetly gonna enjoy it. Peace.

i just ordered one today and then i found this forum...cool.....hey, how long does it take, they said there backed up so it may take a week....i`m ready today....anyhow....

if they say a week, it'll take a week...

if you are referring to how long it actually takes to "do a run", all totalled about an hour.
p.s....let me know if they send one of those nifty blue glass jars.

Yo sleep,

I ordered one today..... 150Gram, stainless 110 screen......

Do the Screens clog up at all? If so, Can you clean them?

Fixing to break my tumbler out again. Just finished a crop of astroboy which has some of the most and best sugar trim i've seen.

James, depending on how fine the screen it is, itcan clog.All you have to do is blow air through the mesh "from the outside in" to dislodge any material or larger heads.A can of compressed air (found at office supply stores) works great.

I bought the BHO tube and you gotta love O'Kief for the convenience - Plug n play LOL
I am planning on buying the tumbler when I have cash. How much trim minimum for a decent run?

I got my trim freezing at the moment and i try to run a minimum of a couple oz at a time. Anything less i just save it till i have more. I haven't weighed it yet but i'll probably be running a couple oz tonight through the 110 stainless drum. I thought about bhoing it but i'm getting low on the dry stuff lol.

<edit> just started, i'll run the trim pretty whole first and the second run i'll probably break it up pretty good. Gotta love the fact you can throw stems and all in the stainless without worrying about a torn screen.

I was pretty happy with the results. Now i'm not sure of weights because weight means nothing to me and i'm more concerned with quality so call me a snob. Started with approx 2oz which included stems. since i'm using a stainless drum which is tough, i don't bother too much with de-steming. Put everything pretty much whole in first and tumbled for 15 min:



Then i lightly broke everything up, froze it over night and ran for an hour. kief was almost white....very good.




This is my total stash which included the darker (oxydized) previous older kief





don't know weights but i was surprised that the quality was still good on the second run........pressed with very minimal pressure and is sticky as hell

Actually it was less then 2oz cuz i had a mix of stems and trim. The trim was mostly sugar leaf from trimming the buds and a fair amount of airy popcorn buds. That was the last run of the Subcool Astroboy and i will miss it. The trim from it really produces. Yes that was the 110 stainless drum, i've had that drum going on 2 years now.
