cfl...KING said:you should add some more 42w or upgrade to bigger bulbs, u have just over 3000 lumens per sq ft were as you want 8-10,000 lumens per sq ft @ 2700-3000k for flowering
Georgia Green said:The flowering area ( the space under the hood thing where I will have plants is 12'' X 30'' 2 and 1/2 sq' so 2700 X 5 = 13500
13500 / 2.5 = 5400
Damn it,,, thanks cfl....king,,, its back to the drawing board for me,,
I have two warm white bright stik fluorescent tubes they are only 725 lumens
that would be a extra 580 and bring me to 5980 damn it,, and I got one more fluorescent tube that is a lot brighter than the other two do you guys think I should mount these tubes or mount some more of the 42 watt cfl's on the walls
Georgia Green said:This is what I have got done today I made an exhaust thing I have the fans at about a 45 from the roof I hope this will get the heat out Behind the fans I have 13 1'' holes and at the bottom of each side I have 3 1' holes
Can you get some shots of the whole setup? It's hard to tell exactly what you've got going on in there.
Hoods trap a lot of heat, even well ventilated ones, so you may want to consider a more open design. You should give it a dry run with temp reading from different areas in the cab, so then you have some point of reference to work from. It may be fine the way it is, don't know 'till you run it.
Georgia Green said:I was hopeing I could get a even canopy SOG with clones in there thats why I am working on this hood thing I think I can get 8 in a line if I put them closer together but I am not gonna go with any larger size bulb because I do my shopping in town and the 42 is as big as they got I don't have a credit card and if I did I still wouldn't order stuff online,, I still have smoke this is just a project,,
Georgia Green said:I am all most done with the new hood. What do you guys think White paint or the Mylar looking stuff?
Paint that Bad Boy with many layers of flat white (after a good primer to seal the pores)...to reflect and Waterproof.
that pressboard with cut edges will begin to expand as it absorbs Humidity
Nice lookin hood idea
