Auto flower 20/4 ?!?

Just came back from a Thanksgiving trip and one of my plants is flowering! Under 20/4! I am happy that I've got a female, but I wanted her to be a mother. The light did not go out, I think. None of the other three that are in the room with her are flowering. I'm growing a grab bag of two bag seeds, one MMM #2 and a Master Kush or Papaya.

Does anyone know what strains are in the MMM that could auto-flower? Maybe it's one of the bag seeds, but they both came from the same nug so both should be doing it.

Is there a point to taking a clone? Since it would probably want to flower anyway.

I should have mentioned the extent of the flowering. It is full on flower, the top node has switched to bud production. These are not the preflowers one would expect to get when they have been vegging for a while. The plant is on about it's 7-8 node and has been vegging for less than four weeks.

I'm going to take this a different way, since it doesn't really matter what it is or why it's doing it.

Can I continue to give the auto-flowering plant 20 hrs a day? The energy benefit should be substantial, 12 vs 20. Or should I just start it on 12/12, because apparently it wants to flower.

Well it is a shame she cant be a mother, but as you said there is quite an energy advantage to an extra 8 hours of light.

I say take it, I dont see what the downside could be. It may not finish quickly on that much light, but you can always flip it later.

I like autoflowering plants personally. If my plants get a total of 70 days of light in the 75 days or so they take to finish. At the end of the season they got the same number of hours of light as any other strain. Scale that down for a micro grow, add carbon dioxide most of the time and you still get a really reasonable g/w ratio.

People say the plant benefits from a bit of a sleep, you always hear vague references to the roots. It could be, i dont know mostly the reason i turn my lights off is electricity bills. I figure having them on 18 hours saves me quite a bit.

Mmm 2 is from Sagarmatha. They have no autoflowering strains, but their Stuporsonic comes close. 20/4 is quite enough for it to flower. I'm not sure if mmm2 has stuporsonic in it though, but i think the first mmm did and that would be my guess.

Fruity smell, shiny dark green leaves, sativa-indica structure.

I got 3 plants that are auto flowering also. There not that bad. Most of them turn out to be female so I was happy.

Well to be honest a true autoflower plant will not flower with that light cycle. If you leave the lights on 24/7 and it is still doing that it is af. If you can keep that plant in veg under 24 hours and cut clones off of it it is not af. I would keep that cut just cause it shows flowering so fast. Might be one of those super fast finishing strains which is a plus for any garden imo.

My plants are under 24/7 light cycle and still flowering. Which I have no problem with. Because i got clones already from it and I got more seeds.

@ TheOneWill - How do you maintain clones that want to flower under a 24 hour light day? Keep taking clones from the plant before it matures enough and begins to flower again?

@ Thule - I think you are correct about the call on it being a Stuporsonic. The edges of the top leaves are turning purple and from the pictures I've seen this seems to be a trait of the strain. I'm pretty sure it is not a phosphorus deficiency as the older leaves are not turning completely purple and the stems are not purplish/red. This was the plant when it was younger, can't really see it but dark green with purplish tips. I'll get some current pictures up later tonight.

It also seems a different shade of purple then what would indicate a phosphorus deficiency. One of my other plants has a few older purple leaves from the stress of transplanting to coco, but recovering very nicely.

I first I toped it much as i can before it flowered in veg. Then when I noticed the little white pistils, I took clones. You can't keep it as a mother but you can use the clones as moms till they start to flower.

Let's see how it turns out :) If it's a stuporsonic you're in for a racy sativa high

I hope everything goes well.

Thanks for the good vibes! Plants respond to positive energy, even if someone hasn't gotten the numbers to prove it.

Here is a pic of the supposed Sturporsonic... any more ideas on the diagnosis?

maybe over nutrient leading to stress leading to auto flower....? I was thinking the purple tips meant a little burning in a different way than actually burning.....Interesting
