Organic Air Filter

The surface area of a piece of charcoal fiber has so many more fissures or pores as compared to charcoal pellets that a pellet has no chance to compete with the efficiency of charcoal fiber.

Does the mass of the charcoal come into this equation or is the actual mass of the organic particles being filtered so small that even a 'cloth' of carbon would do for a month?

ilife,

What's the life of one of these things? How often do they need to be replaced? Or is it like you wash it once a month and there's no need to replace it? Do you have a photo of one in action?

If it works as well as they say, that's a killer deal for a small time grower, low cost, low hassle, etc...

it says wash once a month, that could be a pain, but it sounds good i want to hear some member feedback first.

Interesting, I don't know if I'm up for product testing with a part of my security system....but i like the idea it uses less carbon and looks like it is about 1/2 the lenght of my current filter. However my DIY "virgin carbon granules" filter is not broken so don't need to fix it and costs like $40 max to refil. And if i buy in bulk its cheeper.

If anyone is currently using this product please do tell.

Peace

ACF filters are a bunch of crap, at least the "odorsok" I picked up a while ago. Works for a couple months. Maybe if you use it for like 1/2 the rating. I picked up a 8" "sok" rated 6 or 800cfm or something, and hooked it up to a 6" blower...rated 450+ or so, and it didn't work. Maybe if you have a low odor strain, but it's definately nothing to use if you really need NO smell.

Still have not hooked mine up, anyone else have a review?

I have a couple of 6" versions that are only taking away a little bit of the smell.
The Odorsoks didn't cut it, either.
Heavy carbon filters are the only choice that I have found for complete odor control.

agree with IC users.
OdorSok etc. do not work well at all. I have the 6" w/ a 450cfm fan, and my garden still reeks come harvest time. The only way is those "inefficient carbon pebbles" ... this looks more like an advertisement than an Ic thread, oddly.

Organic Air Filter

I have been using my Organic Air filter Hepa intake filter for 2 months now and can tell a difference every time I walk into my grow room. the plants are more happier and the air is cleaner.

I can not wait to make water-hash from my resin covered trim and see the difference the HEPA intake filter makes.

Could someone post the details for this type of filter? I would be interested to try this system, but all the info has been edited...

I would also like to know more about this particular brand of filter. It seems very compact & would probably be extremely efficient on a soler palau mixed vent inline fan.
