Bagseed started outside, now under lights, macro pics!

So I found a seed a while ago and about in july sometime I think it was... I just decided to put it in some paper towels on top of the monitor.. it sprouted within a few hours, I was pretty surprised.. and then I was stoked when it was a girl.

The backyard it was in doesn't have the best sunlight, the plant grew pretty long and skinny, I guess that's why? I can't believe how long it's taking to finish flowering though.. I live on the west coast here where tons of people grow outside and it's all harvested by now, but this thing is obviously not done.. I dunno how many days though, any guesses?

I just put it in the greenhouse under some fluoros because the weather is too crappy here now.. it's got three 42W and one 11W (the other 42W I added after the pics)

It's pretty skimpy and i don't know if I'll get too much but oh well.. what's on there looks pretty good.. guesses on yield? Think it will fatten up much more? still looks pretty immature to me.. but I'm a total novice.

I'm also wondering if I should take off the tiny little buds on the bottom of the plant? maybe they're just sucking energy? ..or I've been advised by someone to leave them there.. once I pick the top buds leave the bottom ones to go longer and then they'll get bigger.. is this BS or a good idea?

Sorry for all the questions, I probably have some more I can't think of right now.. but this is my first grow ever.. I just spontaneously decided to sprout that seed and everything worked out.. without further ado...

At first I was like "So where are the macro pics??" Then I scrolled and there they were!

That is quite a plant dude, tall!!!
You will probably not get any real buds from the lower sites, I would have gotten rid of them by now.
I have no idea how old it is, but it looks like it still has a while to go yet, the trics from what I can see are clear to cloudy, but mainly clear, you should wait until they start turning amber in color.

At this point, I wouldn't bother taking the lower buds off, you probably won't gain too much by doing that at this late stage. Plant looks nice and healthy, you should get a nice bag of smoke from that. Problem is, now you're hooked on growing, so be ready for sudden urges to mix soil and such. Congrats!

So I can put it back on 18/6 after I harvest the majority and let it grow more and then throw it into another flowering session? how would I go about doing that? I love to keep this thing going.

What do you guys figure for yield?

hey there shafto nice job on your first time... next time try some quality genetics... you will be amazed with the difference..

to anwser your questions..

yes you can reveg this plant if you leave the bottom 1/3 intact and put it into 24/0 for a while. however IMHO it would be unpractical for you to do so in these circumstances. i say that only because you dont have much wattage so yield will be lower this time without the suns 131 wpsf. it will also get colder which will stunt your plants growth.

basically what im getting at is bring it inside if you wanna reveg but in that case it would be easier to just start a buncha new plants.

as for yield... you should be more than happy with about 20-30 grams for this lady

Thanks Boris.. I don't have anything to start some new plants though... I do plan to build a little cab here though with a few plants and a 400watt HPS.. but I'm leaving for work again soon and I'll be out of town for a few months, so I'll start that off when I get home.

I'm sure the genetics aren't quite like the high quality seeds you can order, but I'm sure they're good, as high quality weed for sale is plentiful here, and I never have anything but the best I can find... I remember the bud I bought that it came from, I only found that 1 seed in a whole QP... it was really nice stuff, hopefully my go at it will be even better.

..I remember it quite well actually, was unique looking, very red in colour, and a lot of hair, covered in trichs.

It won't get too cold, as the plant is in a heated greenhouse, so that's not a worry, but I didn't know you ever went 24/0? ...I'll need to learn more about this re-vegging.. it might not be practical if you have more plants ready to go.. but I'd like to get the most out of this 1 guy that I can.

It's got a total of 137watts of fluoro light, plus the light that makes it in the greenhouse from the sun as well.. though it's mostly cloudy here now.. it's still more light to help out.

Some new pics a few days later.. the CFLs make everything look kinda yellow, but the trichs are definitely all still transparent. I have a little microscope I was checking them out with too.. pretty cool.

Think that main cola will fill all the way out? I hope so...

Well I've got an update with some more pics here.. I'm really happy with the way this is going.. I can't believe with some general bloom ferts laying around, some bagseed (from nice weed, though not quite as nice as mine seems to be looking) started outside, brought in a greenhouse under some ghetto rigged CFLs could be doing this well... it sure is along flower period though.. trichs still all look clear... these pics here were taken 23 days after the first pics posted and 19 days after the pics right above this post.. I could tell the sex of this plant before I left for work at the end of june.. I dunno exactly cause it was outside and I wasn't home.. but this thing must be around 60 days at least right now.. I'd say probably 70.. and still got more to go... oh well, if they keep putting on weight like this they can go for another couple weeks and I'll be happy... what do you guys think? how much longer now? when should I cut off the ferts and start flushing? I'm thinking I'm gonna try the molasses feed for the flushing time..

Oh.. the smell.. holy hot damn.. just the way I love weed, tropical fruity smelling, so so sweet.. I definitely get some pineapple in there as the overwhelming scent, with some mango and pear it seems.. I can't wait to try it out in the all glass vape.

CFLs make the plants look yellow... but there was some nice sunshine coming into the greenhouse today that the girl was loving along with her fluoro light.. and it made for some good quality pics with proper colour.. well.. you can tell the ones that were in the sunlight quite easily.















Followed up by the usual macro shot showing all the clear trichs still.... hope you enjoy.. I know I have been.. I just went through another bag of bud that was sooooo nice, best I can remember in a long time.. and I was very stoked to find a few stray seeds in it.. they'll be next.

Someone told me if you get seeds from a plant that had a branch go hermi or something that all the seeds end up being female? is this true or BS? ..he pointed out the fact that my one seed I had sprouted a female.. hardly proof, but it helps his claim.. I'd be very stoked if it's true.. because then I have 10 female beans here from some really nice smoke.

hah.. backyard is pretty private.. trees all around.. I don't think the neighbours would care anyway.. and it's only 1 plant, so I really don't think the cops would either.. worst case scenario is some kid steels it, which would suck.. but oh well... it's pretty well timed with the daylight too, you can only really notice at dusk and dawn.

Any suggestions on when I should start flushing this girl? c'mon this is my first time.. I need some help here.

take a microscope and look ar the trics. if you like head high then about 20 percent red,if body then 80 percent red.the more redthere is the more intense it will be and flush by the buzz you like and mayby a sample to test.water for 2 weeks then cut.peace

Thanks... it did fill out quite nicely.. all at once it seemed.. I didn't see it for about 3 days.. then I went back and wow! the branches were all hanging down the buds were so heavy.. I had to tie everything up.. I thought something was wrong with the plant at first.. all droopy.. until I realized it was just the heavy buds.

I know to start flushing about 2 weeks before I pick.. but what's the deal? just water with water? that's all that's involved with flushing? I'm still not sure when to start though.. as I don't know by looking at the plant when it'll have 2 weeks left.. trichs are still clear right now.. and white hairs too.. so I dunno.. I guess I'll just wait until I see the first signs of amber trichs and then start flushing? how fast will they all start to turn amber after the first sign? I want to go about 25% amber to 75% cloudy or so I guess.

You don't have any updated pics do you? That is a really pretty plant.

I'll get some more again here soon.. I might have a sample bud to try cause where I plucked off a big yellow fan leaf I think I screwed up the stem with an air bubble or something, because the little bud right above seems to now be dieing.. and the stem going to the bud is getting dry and brown.. whoops.

What's the proper way to cut these yellow leaves off with hurting the plant?

Also another leaf coming from a bud has these weird black spots on it.. I'll snap some pics of that too.
