Tiger's Den 4 - A New Toke

Hey all, time to launch off the much delayed grow thread!

Had some problems launching our seeds, so I threw in a bit more. We now have some Hindu Kush in the mix, and a buncha bagseed :D I always say, all the elite strains were someone's bagseed once

We've done some reworking of the pods. In addition to the ducted A/C in the back, I've also put a dedicated A/C for the flower room. Not because of any problems, but I wanted to push it colder than the ducting could manage. I also pulled a separate intake for the 1kw cool tube, to control temps even more.

Average temps in the flower room run 68F lights on, and 58F-62F lights off. If there's color to be had, we'll find it :D

In the veg pod, where our attention is focused now, temps are perfect as well. 80 lights on, 76 lights off, with 60% RH.

Our candidates are cruising along in Coco coir, and as things have gotten dialed in, we're moving along quite well. Take a look at what we've got going on!

So, here we go!

Correct me if I am wrong, don't you want it around 79 degrees? Why would you want it even colder? Seems like it wouldn't be that great...At night my box gets 66 degrees and I thought it was a little cold..Maybe I'm wrong? Let me know, great start, looks like your putting in a lot of work, PEACE!

I've always run for ~80F day in veg, and a ~70F. Dipping the temps cooler at night during flowering triggers the plants autumnal colors.

Veg mimics late spring and summer, with higher temps and humidity. Flowering is for late summer early fall, when temps are cooler, and the air drier.

So, the cooler temps trigger the autumnal colors, if they're there, which is why I'm taking it lower. 79 would be much higher than I would go in flower, but just perfect for veg.

To all you other guys settin' up your chairs, don't block the light :D

Gotta tag this, gotta see what comes of "the freezer grow" I thought anything under 60 could stunt? Or is that 50? 2* shouldn't matter that much. Makin me feel better about my 63 night temps, thought that was a bit too low.

Well, think about it outside. 60 degree nights are not unusual around outdoor harvest time. And I don't think those giant trees get too stunted LOL

You are a very smart man NT, and you know a great deal about growing. I agree with you all the way around, and If I had the money and lived in a house, I'd be running my shit just as cold. Only prob is I cant run 2 A/C units on top of the one I already have for the apt, and 2 giant lights? "Alarm bells are ringing Willie..." I do the best I can for now and my girls are still showing me love. Good Luck.

Exactly :headbange

If nothing else we'll see how it goes. We all see the max temps that are effective, let's see what the opposite is :D Not often you're in a situation to drop temps that low.

I think they'll do fantastic, and get some nice fall foliage to boot.

Let's find out :joint:

And both the older ones have put out some nice long branches, so we'll clone them soon and get them into flower to sex out.
