this is a smoke report for sqwirl's fox farms ocean forest vs happy frog comparison grow. its an interesting thread and a great resource if you havent seen it: http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=57142
firstly, this strain was supposed to be gdp but it was about as far away from that as you can get. go figure with a cali med club. as far as my thoughts on
what it could potentially be, it really reminds me of some wonder diesel i smoked a couple months ago but its tough to say with so many strains around these days. i definately think its an indica crossed to sour diesel.
Appearance: the buds look the same to me, soft pinkish-orange hairs over light, frosty bracts with dark green budleaves. the buds are pretty foxtaily, they look jagged and rough. i cant tell them apart by looking.
Aroma: smells like grandma's house. you either know what im talking about or you dont. if i close my eyes with my nose to the jar, i see hanging pictures of jesus, 1950's decor, and framed stitchery that reads 'home is where the hear is'. there is no difference in smell.
Taste: its rather subtle in the taste department.its got a spicy earthy taste initially with a tart exhale. it tastes like what i would expect from a bland indica meeting with sour diesel. once smoked, the taste vanishes quickly. the happy frog sample does have a more pronounced taste to me, the ocean forest sample isnt as full-bodied or rich.
High: definately indica-leaning. not overly potent, good hanging out evening smoke. its a pleasurable smoke for sure. the highs are pretty damn close to me, with the happy frog having a little bit of an edge. or maybe thats just a mental thing since it tastes better so im more content as the buzz comes on.
overall, i'd say the differences in the two are minimal with the happy frog having the slight lead. i have never grown in happy frog so i cant attest to the differences in that realm, but it definately makes me want to try a bag or two next.
once again sqwirl thanks and if you have some better pics, feel free.
