I wish to have a record of the cell phone ESN's that come near my home.

I'm trying to identify a ripper.

Does anyone have any suggestions for equipment?

You might as well had put up a picture of a dog if you werent going to bother training them to guard. Thieves and rippers avoid a pack of dogs like the plague I personally dont know anyone with dogs thats been ripped.

OK .. still wishing to track ESN numbers.

I have no desire to hack into anyone talking .. just want the ID numbers.

These folks have probably been here thirty or more times. Most of the time checking my perimiter. Probing and mapping out lights, doors etc.

I need to know when I'm being cased out.

I think that it has stopped. I just need that confirmed.

Magnetic Detectors so that only metal sets them off, you use it with a wireless transponder which records activity and alerts you. You'll know their times and frequency. Nothing beats catching them cold on your own turf with a bow and arrow and a shotgun incase they are just being too aggressive.

What good would random esn's get you? Its not like they would pop up saying Billy Bobs phone. And why would you look for equipment that would draw more unwanted attention then its worth?

Once I've identified which number to watch out for, this same person just might show up as the delivery guy or something like that.

Do you believe that it's a good thing to not bother at all?
I should buy new dogs and put them through training school so that the information I want still isn't being supplied to me. And I should stay defenseless while they're being trained.

If they were to get shot, they wouldn't be able to tell the cops either. (I was cleaning my gun .. )

Sometimes "can't call the cops" works both ways.

ESN tracking equipment could cost you alot, and solve nothing..

If somone is aware of yer grow.... move it....... any other "counter measure" is asking for trouble, and waiting for it...

man..
you need some EZ pc camras and or a video survailance system, they sell 4 camra ones that record to tape for a few hundred. probably cheaper and will give you more usefull info aswell.

i have some firewire camras attached to my media center pc (on 24/7) that guard/tape my parimiter/grow/house so once someone entered my place, even if they trashed everything ill still know who did it.
its cool to log into my house from work and watch the live feed of the leafs swaying in the breeze.

Because you cant 'innocently' scan the airwaves for cell phone ESN's the act of doing so is illegal.. using the equipment to scan for ESN's is illegal regardless why you want to do it. I assume buying the equipment will get you on some federal shitlist or another.

Besides that the practice of scanning ESN's has been linked to terrorism so they are already watching out for it. The cell phone companies also got wise and they stopped transmitting readable ESN numbers by using strong encryption so in short speak unless you are able to break strong encryption it doesnt matter how much equipment you buy you still wont be able to decipher anyones ESN.

No, it doesnt exactly sound like your in a position to do nothing. Wasting money on equipment you cant use in the first place and aquiring the stuff putting you in harms way to boot doesnt sound like its going to get you anywhere either.

You got ripped and didnt do nothing so the likelyhood the same will happen when they think your ripe is just a matter of time. Since you didnt report the original crime its not likely you by your lonesome will make any future charges stick to anyone else. Whos gonna listen to someone that just got busted about some 'crime' that happened to them months ago?.. no one.

Imo you are beyond any help dogs can give you, trained to the nines or not .. as someone suggested you should have moved a long time ago.

I bought several cameras to go with it. When motion is detected, motion is recorded and snapshots are stored off site.

These folks put a gun to the head of a eighty year old man. Ran through his house to only find about sixty bucks. They left and headed directly to my house.

They never made it inside.

I came out at them as they were reaching for my front door.

I don't think that I hit them.

They never called the cops about it ..

Crime in our area has fallen to zero.

It would be nice if they got religion.
I understand that sometimes happens after shitting pants.

I would not recommend anyone else do the same .. but here I am.

that excelant! ive seen thoes at my local frys electronics.

personaly i have 300GB just for recording and record all footage for 24 hour cycles then delete after 7 days.... i bet that guy shit his pants.
