ok guys... here is what im doing...40 3ltr's in a cab built just big enough to fit them all with a 400 hps...the strains im using all stretch very similiar...i wanted to know after they show roots, should i put them in a beer cup for a week, then transplant to 3 ltr, or just str8 from rooted peat pellet to 3ltr, for a week or so veg time??? any comments or suggestions is appreciated, thanks guys

I would put them into the beer cups for a week.

hey brother i would go to cups first and let them fill the cups with roots then TP into your three litters, the better rooted they are when they get put into the three litters the better they will grow for real....

your gonna wanna vegg atleast a couple weeks brother, you need a decent root ball even in 3litters......no matter what you grow in a better root ball ===better yields.......

do you have any heighth problems?...once you go to 12/12 your plant will greatly slow down in the root making and begin to put its energy into makeing buds.....

nah mang no height problems...but there is no sense in vegging these plants big because there will be NO room if vegged very long...i planned on only vegging for 2 weeks...any longer than that, and i know these strains...they won't be a single cola by then... well it seems the idea is to do cups first like i was gonna do...the only reason is i am not going to let the roots fill out the cup for the fact that would take longer than 1 week...i just don't have time for that...i am doing SOG because you can pack em in and do no veg time...thanks for the ideas guys, so you guys still think i should put in beer cups? even though i am only gonna leave them in there MAX 1.5 weeks in the beer cup...

exactly what are you wanting from your plants?....see of green SOG to me means a bunch of plants close together and grown single cols BOAS style....

are you wanting a BOAS/sog grow or not ....

if you are realy only going to vegg for two weeks then probable no to the TP to cup......you would need atleast three weeks to do that with, TP to cup then vegg two weeks the TP into 3litter bottles and you would then need atleast a week for your plants to stablize before you go 12/12 total there three weeks min.....

yeah theree is no extra room...i am vegging 10-15 days in the cup, and 10-15 in the 3 ltr......and a SOG is exactly what im doing...peace out mah nukka guess ill find out if that's too much veg time or not enough after this run

well they are allready in cups 43 of em...i put em str8 from rooting in the pellet to under the 400...they were doing nice this morning...ya know where to look jaws soon...

i was thinking about doing something very similar after the first grow in my new cab i'm hooking up. space is like 2 1/2ft wide 4ftdeep. with 2 400 watters in cool tubes

what strains do you have killa?

how long did you veg them for?

how tall are they now? it looks like stretch is done, is it?

man if you were able to pull an oz per plant with 40 plants under a 400 watt light you would be a growing GOD that would be over 2 lbs. that would be nearly 3 g/w.

ya bro it would be very nice indeed, but i think with the right strain an oz per is very doable....but yes the set and grower would need to be onw with one another to keep things very stable and i know first hand growing in 2litters is not as easy as it may seem/look.....

its very hard to control moister in to litters, one day they will be fine the next norning bone FN dry, and if that happens to many times the stress fator starts to play a roll in the grow and the dreaded hermies show them selfs....

but if the grower pics a good yielding strain and can tend to the plants needs on a DAYLY bases yes it can be done...

i have yet to see anyone achieve 2.8 g/w on this site especially under a 400 watt light. 1 oz per plant is no tthe big deal. one oz under a 400 watt light with 40 plants is. im betting that the foliage will overlapp causing different growth rates and problems thereby hurting yeild. what area are u covering with that 400?

You're going to do fine, but there is room for improvement. The growth looks uniform now and leads me to think you (as the grower) can predict how they will react. Why not use a bed, instead of separate planters? If you are doing it to rotate them, use rectangular planters and rotate them left/right. Also I suggest trimming any leaves that are half way up, and adjusting the ones left. The more light on the buds, the better the buds will grow, no leaves though will affect it negatively. If you can keep it cool, bump it up to a 600. Looks good. Back in the day I used to use 32oz containers and was lucky to be working with a sativa pheno that wasn't very leafy. They did great. I used to fit 24 in a 2x2 box.
