2000 Watt First Time Grow Diary

Hello all! Im new to the grow scene but I have been reading alot lately and thought I would give this grow stuff a whirl. I ordered some seeds from Gypsy and company to start out. Serious Seeds "Chronic", "Ak-47", Sensi Seeds "Skunk#1" and freebie pack of Mods Seeds "Dream Goddess".

These are at week 4 and 5 of Veg actually. A little small but I had PH problems early on that kept them from growing. Got that dialed in and they started to grow alot faster and looking alot healthier. I started them in peat cups then transplanted to 16 oz beer cups a few days after that. Then after 3 weeks in the beer cups I transplanted into 2 gallon grow bags with Fox Farm Happy Frog soil which I hope will be enough until harvest.

Hiya Q Bert! :wave: Welcome to my grow diary. Invite some friends if you will. I have the 4 different kind of plants going right now. They all are looking really nice at the moment and putting on some buds. I vegged them for 6 weeks total and threw them into flower. I then got rid of the male plants and the plants that wouldnt take nutes as good as the others and was left with 25 nice, healthy females. They began to stink pretty bad even after the first week of flower so I thought I would make a little 4'X8' enclosed room for them so I could at least use a carbon scrubber to take care of the smell, and have something to tape mylar to so I can get better use out of the lights. Here they are at 2 weeks into flower. I still have to install the carbon scrubber yet, add some mylar, wall mounted fans, and some other things.

Well now with the enclosed space and the lights not vented the heat in my 4'X8' box was getting extremely hot. I bought (2) 6'' vortex fans and installed them on the outside of the little room. 1 is blowing into a light and the other is sucking out of the other light which keeps the temperature right around 75 degrees.

And now this brings us to where I currently am with this grow. I am at 3 weeks in flowering. They are starting to pack on a little more weight and loving the lights without all the heat that came with it before I vented the hot air. My carbon scrubber just arrived so I have to install that tomorrow, hang up a wall mounted fan or 2, and mylar the room. About 5 more weeks to go until harvest and counting. Heres some picture of them at 3 weeks taken today.

Looking Good, I too am in a 4x8 box, but am only running one 1000 hps. Had the PH issues and am still working on an optimal intake/exhaust setup myself. I'm in for the duration, nice to meet ya.

Hey everyone thanks for stopping by. I have been feeding them from the age of 3 weeks on with the Fox Farm products making sure not to over feed. Never had nute burn once and keep adding a little bit more to every feeding. Also I am using liquid karma and they seem to love the stuff too. I feed every other watering with the fox farm and everytime I water with the liquid karma. I make sure to PH my water to 6.5 and am seeing better results too taking my water from a faucet before it goes into the water softener. So far so good but alot of time left.

Pretty happy with the way its going. I didnt really expect anything this run since I am building the room and learning while the plants are growing. Any other questions just let me know. I know I am skipping alot of stuff starting this thread half way through the grow.

you're already past one of the hardest parts my man, and doing damn good!

the next hardest part is to control yourself and NOT pull the buds early, even though they'll be lookin so goooood :)

you'll have a TON of herb once u harvest!

Yup, looking good for starting off with 2k in lights. Any way you can get some shots without the HPS on? I'd love to see how your sk#1 plants are doing. I'm a big fan of that strain...got two girls in flower now. :smoke:

Lookin good,you mite wanna paint the walls gloss white!
Hang some tinfoil or something to get reflections of walls too!
Come summer its gonna get HOT,maybe get 1 more small fan
and mount it at the very top of room to scoop the rest of the heat
away above the lights but your doing fine right now at 75 degrees!

Wow alot more people came to take a look at my first grow. Even LouGrew! made the trip! I read your big backyard grow before I joined! Kickass! :woohoo: Thanks for looking everyone and I will keep posting as time goes by. Will get some more pics of everything on week 4 for everyone to look at. For now I just got a picture of the skunk #1 that Stoned requested. Just grabbed the first one I seen near the door for ya. I am no photographer by any means but did get this pic. Its about 3 1/2 weeks into flower and probably has the most crystals out of all the plants. I just tried feeding mollasses this past watering and the following day alot of plants were showing crystals everywhere. Dont know if the mollasses has anything to do with it but I couldnt believe the change in the plants after I fed with it and it was only $2.49 at the grocery store.

JasonDub let me tell you its so hard not to pick off a few buds to smoke right now especially not having any weed around right now. I havent picked any yet but I might have to grab a popcorn bud in a few weeks to try it out. They are starting to smell like some really REALLY good fruity kind bud. Even a week ago it was more of a planty smell than anything but today when I opened the room it smelled so good and made me so excited that I will actually have some good buds in a few weeks.

The pics for the 4 weeks will have some shiny stuff on the walls so I can make better usage of the light. Also I have a vortex 747 cfm fan installed along with a carbon filter to take care of the smell.

Ill see if I can get you some more pics of the skunk#1 too Stoned. Just went down to check on them and just took this quick pic.

Thanks Stoned that means alot coming from such a great grower as yourself.

Here are some pics at week 4. Nothing fancy. Might bring a regular light in to take pics next week. It doesnt take the best of shots with the HPS on at all. Gotta pick through about 20 pictures I take just to find one that isnt real blurry.

I am thinking they all will get chopped on week 8. Not many hairs at all turning brown so might take up to week 9. Getting closer to harvest! :yummy: They are really starting to stink. Believe it or not the Chronic is the best smelling so far with a nice fruit smell to it. Biggest nugs are the Skunk#1. Not bad for being the cheapest of seeds besides the Dream Goddess freebies. But all in all they all have a decent amount of bud on. I just hope it will last until the next harvest as I will be ready to smoke some big fatties after these get the chop and cure.

Thanks Phishhead for the compliments. Ill be here till the end with with pics of harvest, them hanging, and final weight. I really dont know what else to add to this Diary besides I just use the foxfarm tiger bloom, big bloom one watering and ph'd water with mollasses, and liquid karma the next so we will see how that goes till the end. Will cut off all nutrients in about 2-3 weeks so I can start flushing the nutes out of the soil. They are just starting to show nitrogen deficiency so I added a quarter strength of Grow Big along with this last ferting so they all wouldnt die too early on me. Might be a little too late in flower to add nitrogen but they were showing signs that they wanted it right now so I thought 1 more dose to keep them healthy. Until next time guys and gals.
