My first grow. Definately not last.

Needed a simple strain to learn a bit about watering and ferts before worrying about training and such :)

And needed some ethically defensible smoke ASAP :joint:

----

Seeds: Lowryders from The Winged Serpent (100% germ)

Lights: 125W CFL 2700K Envirolite

Medium: 50% dirt, 25% Vermiculite, 25% Perlite

Ferts: All organic

Randomly selected pics:

Gave 'em "hell" (hehe) with 2x125W CFL 2700K the last two weeks:

Enjoying the sweetness of being self-supplied!

Cheers!

I have grown a lowrider cross, it was easy to grow, wonderful for a first timer with little room.

Good for you, enjoy that homegrown!!

I know Low Riders are autoflowring plants, but I'm new to this so I've never seen them. Do the LR genetics make them pretty much grow as just one short, fat cola and that's it? I've also heard you can't clone the original LR either, why is that?

Looking good there.

Great documentation, grats on the grow!
What was the final yield?

Budless - You can't clone LR because there isn't really any way to keep the plant in veg, since it's autoflower.

looking good dude. i hope you made some f2's. next grow you can practice with a new strain of your choice inside then plant a couple set's of 10 lowryder's in the wood's. you'll just be harvesting and harvesting.

Bought it in a local shop here in DK. They are pretty common in shops where you can get 100+ W CFLs.

Good job by the way.
Thank you very much. I dont weigh, sorry. But Im satisfied. In my view Lowryders yield a little on the lower side (under CFLs anyways) considering the 20 hours of light needed...

Lowryder: 63 days 20/4 = 1260 hours
Normal: 30 days 18/6 + 60 days 12/12 = 1260 hours

In that perspective, any other strain would be more economical that LRs. And a better smoke probably

--

Lessons learned from my first grow
- Get odorcontrol!
- 1 plant for 1 container.
- Aquire a magnifierglass for timing of harvest (I havested on the late side granting me a smoke that is too stoned for my taste or maybe thats just how LR-smoke is?).
- Get some well-balanced organic fertilizer (N>P=K for vegging and P>K>N for bloom), with ample secondary nutrients. They desperately needed Magnesium in the second half of the grow.

The future
I've gotten hold of a entirely new cabinet with seperate flower- and veg/mother room. Next up in the flowerroom will be some bagseeds that are vegging now and subsequently some Kali Mist F2s.

In the autoflower department, which will probably happen outside in the spring/summer, "I'll" be growing som normal Lowryders, Lowryder x Snowwhite and Lowryder x AK47 :)eek:)
My best friends dad always wanted to try smoking weed - he's retired now - and I suggested he could grow his own. What a way to loose your smoking-verginity!
He has a nice garden (tomatoes, cucumbers and lots of other stuff) which he attends to with the utmost dedication, so Im confident it'll turn out well ;)
