Looks good, but rezdog himself said it was a mistake crossing sd with nycd and he spent the next generations to breed it out of his sd ibl

But rezdog was a fool, I think this cross is legit.

At ten weeks, look at it, look.

I wonder what nycd was used in the cross anyway

I have never liked NYCD and anything I've had that it was crossed to just seemed to be more of the same.
No way would I ever ruin ACTUAL Sour Diesel with something fake like Soma's.
May as well cross it w a mexican brick bagseed progeny.

tangerine haze is about the only good thing to come of it

remember when it used to be listed as mexican sativaXafghani

has anyone ever confirmed if his magic rasta bagseed was legit sour, or if his hawaiian was the same hawaiian in DNL

I think the answer is no

lavender was cool

nice plant

I agree with the NYCD Mandarin cut , its so dominant on that terp that it takes over any x its used on.
Im not a big fan on that tangie terp , its like marmite you love it or hate it.
But are you talking about the pre 2008 cut of NYCD known as the Red Grapefruit cut of NYCD or the Mandarin cut( which is the only cut left)although people pass it around as the Red Grapefruit cut as they never sampled the Original Red Grapefruit cut

I've only had the older Grapefruit type. It just seemed like an old early 2000's BC bud crossed w mexican schwag. But that was along time ago. I only smoke what I grow so I haven't had anything like that in my garden in prob 10-15 yrs.. I've never had any mandarin or orangey flavors other than an Orange Herijuana I got from a grower from the Ozarks and it was really interesting. But never any "diesel" named strains. I prefer my diesel to taste like GASOLINE.

GOOD TO SEE YA OJD!! :tiphat:

I recently had a killing fields f6 plant that smelled like straight (pink or red) grapefruit.
As far as I remember killing fields has some nycd genetics from the "the one" parent.

Yeah, that was the only good to come out of soma’s “work” with the nycd line.
The ruby red came from stock that was from like 01/02, correct?

Soma had some amazing strains like Lavender, Budda sister, and the G13 Haze line but the NYCD was his holy grail and we wont ever forget it or looking for the NYCD Red Grapefruit cut

You clearly didn't try the famous cut from Amsterdam then as ive tried alot of the world famous cuts and the NYCD Red Grapefruit cut is up there with the worlds best:tiphat:

Hi,OJD are you shure red grapefruit.
It was more like white grapefruit so sour.
More sour than a Lemon without fruty undertones but with candy nounces.

I try also his somari one time and it was close to NYCD grapefruit pheno.
But taste and smell was not so intense.

In SD line by rez I also prefere that Limey/white grapefruit phenos of soma than dirty earthy diesel.

Hey So I just cut down two ice cool plants from sweet seeds which is supposed to be a nycd x some undisclosed Indian strain.
Can't say much about the smoke since it's still drying, but the plants had some strong sour diesel funk while harvesting. Actually I was a little disappointed because I was hoping for something closer to the nycd diesel I smoked around 2007 in the Netherlands, which I guess was the grapefruit pheno. It was the first weed strain I have ever smoked that didn't just smell like weed, like most of the coffeeshop stuff at that time, no, it had its own unmistakable thang goin on.
So coming back to ice cool, there's supposed to be a grapefruit/orange/mandarine pheno which is said to be the best pheno.
I don't know about that but the strong sour diesel earthy funk indicates that soma indeed had some kind of diesel used in his cross.
