How's my plant going? (12-12 from seed)

12-12 from seed sprouted november 3;
150w HPS Light;
Room temperature: 30ºC;
Soil: Normal soil i got from under a avocado tree(a little compact i guess);
1,80x1,60x1,20(HxWxD in meters) cabinet;
2x 12v pc fans(intake and exhaust);

i know the lights are weak but i don't want to buy more, the soil is compact and it's lacking nutrients, i need some help for fertilizing i guess, i'm only feeding teas made of boiling fruit peels with tap water and some bone meal, i wanna keep organic, i have a lot to learn still.

you should have been able to harvest back in january, but I suppose you have sativas and man 150w is not alot of lumens . you gone need about 3-5 weeks before this girl finishes off under that light.

budget is always a concern for us , but consider doing more research over in the organics stickies (free)

try and pickup an old magnetic or digital 600w ballast (Ebay Search Link) and new bulb (~100-150)

and get a bag of perlite and some earth worm castings next time you are out and about (~20-50) this wont help you on this run , but you wont have a naked, compacted soil of unknown quality for the next run. In fact ditch that soil altogether and and build something cheap like the lc's mix in the organics for beginners thread

In your situation, I suggest you get some neptunes fish and seaweed in a bottle (~8-20) either the 2-4-1 or 2-5-1 like right away, that will help you through this first run and into the future.

and ffs, ditch the teas , get the ewc and brew them with that and unsulfered mollasses , that will make you girl happier than fruitpeels and bone meal.

And in conclusion, it takes money to make money, and time is money, 150w is awesome in microgrow situations or for a small veg space, and digging up some topsoil in your backyard is free but you see the results in front of you from those decisions

Boyd you come off as an asshole a lot. Dial that shit back..the guy is clearly a new grower. No need to add things like "for fucks sake" etc.

Also...150w HPS for 1 plant is more than enough. If he's growing more plants fine..but he is only showing 1. And growing 12/12 from seed indicates to me that he clearly has a small space he's using. Instead of belittling him about the soil he is using suggest starting a worm bin or compost pile. Your whole post reeks of douchey.

um yeah , i do come across as an asshole sometimes, my apologies to op and you.

no assholery/douchebaggery intended.

However I wouldnt spend 15 minutes typing up that reply if I wasnt attempting to help out, which is what the op asked for - help.

It's all good. I just have a feeling this guy is pretty green (pun intended). BTW sorry if I came off as a dick. Just don't like to see newbies talked to like they are dumb just cause they don't know what they are doing when it comes to growing.

I'm impressed considering your approach. Looks better then my very 1st attempt as they did not make it to bloom.:faint:

By my second attempt as Boyd mentioned, all though controversial, the Organics for Beginners Thread should help you a lot. If you have access to Bone Meal then you might not find it too hard to gather the other simple ingredients.

It works but I have since starting to cut the recipe with the base mix to tone down what can be a hot mix.

If you do go this route be sure to get the low N Bone Meal [where the first number in the NPK is 2 (or lower?) example 2.12.0] and not one of the higher N Bone Meals on the market. [Like Miracle Groan Organic Bone Meal which is 6.9.0]
I understand this is not an immediate assist but obviously you have a green thumb since you made it this far.

Hope this helps.

If you have any questions specifically in regard to the Organics for Beginners information you can PM me and I will be more then happy to assist.

That plant looks like is most all sativa, it may take a while to finish. Just keep at it.

How high above the plant do you keep the light? Keep it as close as you can without burning/bleaching the top of your plants. Are you running an air cooled hood? If so you can get the light much closer to the plants than if you have a wing etc. I second the idea of making teas from earthworm castings and molasses. Both are somewhat inexpensive (I know what it's like to be on a budget, sometimes my plants eat better than I do lol) and will pack a nice punch for the plants.

So far so good, especially if this is your first grow. Start a new thread before your next grow and you will be showered with ideas. There are many many ways to skin a cat.

Thanks for all the responses, they are very helpful, i forgot to say but i'm from brazil and stuff here is far more expensive, that's why i opted for 12-12 150w cheap stuff just to try growing out, also i pretend to buy bio-bloom 2.0-7-4(http://www.growplant.com.br/biobloom.html) just to finish this one out, is it enough?

It would be less expensive I'd imagine if you could get worm castings and molasses, unless you had to pay shipping on them. Are there any garden stores near you? That's where you will find worm castings. You should be able to get unsulphered molasses at the grocery store.

That biobloom stuff likely will help you. If you could find some sort of micro nutrient source to work with it that would be good too if you were to go that route. Do you know anything about what genetics you are working with? If you knew the strain we might be able to help you a little more as far as the time frame etc. for it's life cycle (within reason).

i used to put worm castings around the plant when she was on vegetative, i will try the recipes in the organics for beginners tread, i have no knowledge of the strain, i got the seeds from some compressed weed i bought, i had more plants growing with this one in better soils(about 4 more in a mix with terra preta and perlite/vermiculite), every single one of them turned hermaphrodite, sorry i did my research before planting, don't take me as a complete noob haha, thanks for the replies!

My suggestion is to order some seeds, you need an indica/Sativa hybrid. Even if you don't like the indica effects in the finished product they will be so much easier to grow than land race sativas. Especially for a guy who is starting out. Robust in terms of feeding and a much quicker finishing time. Good luck!

Honestly, for first grow from soil scraped up from the yard that's not that bad. You got one huge cola looking real nice.

Any chance we can get an up-close shot of the leaves? My guess to echo the others above is a Sativa so it's going to take a bit more time.

I think you have some big ass buds. You must be doing something right. I think you did a great job with 150w hps like you said just keep on learning and keep putting in the effort it will pay off in the long run.
