CO2 supplementation options

saw a link to a video for a product called SNS CO2 Kit, costing around $30. manufacturer states it lasts for up to 6 months and can raise the ppm 600 to 700 in a 20 sq foot area (not sure why they didn't report the area covered in cubic feet rather than square feet).

apparently it's a fungal culture system. any one tried it? any other suggestions besides bottled CO2 or gas burners?

many say it works well, and is a great way to see if your plants are benefiting from it for just $30. Any other option (like tankless water heater) is much more complex and expensive...

I bought one just for kicks, since the 500-ish dollar tanked CO2 system + weekly fills isn't going to be an option for a few months. I have no way to test/compare, but it was just kind of one of those thing that I knew couldn't hurt, and the 40 bucks or whatever seemed pretty reasonable, even if it added 2-3% to my yield, or heled to protect from slightly higher temps. I'm guessing that their claims are "a little exaggerated", but tanked CO will be installed soon enough. Seems like a good option to try for a very small, contained grow area, which mine is not. Ideally, I would use a CO2 test kit or desktop monitor, but those are essentially more expensive than the bucket itself. Bottom line is that I didn't expect much, and I'm pretty sure that's what it is delivering (not much). ;)

you could get some sugar water and wine / spirit yeast and then put in a container with a hole in the top X as many as you want, if you want to try.

- you can keep the yeast colony alive for ages.

i tried once but forgot it as it was too much effort to warrant doing so, also generally, if you have an extraction system, i don't know how worthy / wasteful pumping in co2 with at one end and sucking it right out the other is (???).

...think there is enough co2 around for mine from the dirty urban environment anyhoo.
