Black spots/ Insects, help please

These pictures are mostly of black spots that have taken over most plants in my garden. I had initial pest problems of very small, black, flying/hopping insects, with seemingly white spotted backs. The black spots on the leafs I believe have appeared as a result of the insects. The black spots do not rub off or wash off. The plants are outdoors, were sprayed for spider mites and thrips, and the insects are still around.

Looks like thrips. During the day they're hiding amongst the spaces in new growth. The black spots are their droppings. The little whitish patches are where they've killed the plant cells in their feeding.

uh thrips make black spots...but mostly on underside of leaf.
they do cause white spots visible from top tho'.

what'd you use for thrips? spinosad?

you have serious infestation. i cannot say i think it thrips. good luck.

is it all over or just random leaves ?

I used spinosad for thrips. I was told they are aphids but would like confirmation.

Pretty much on all leaves, but more concentrated on older, mature leaves.

regardless of what bugs are doing the damage hit with pure neem oil ASAP....

Thrips for sure, they are out and about this time of year.

Spinosad, works for adults and feeding young. I'd throw some neem in the rotation too. BT is somewhat effective in the soil.

snip off the worst affected, they're just useing energy, and neem them according to instructions from ozzeAI , goodluck

if they dont wipe off its not poop from thrips. there is no damage from pests at all from what I have seen..iunderstand you have pests issues.... if it was bad enough to be poop there would be no green left on the leaves it would have been stripped white..... as for mites...... there would be webbing all over the plant by now.... that looks more like black spot fungus.... affects plants mostly outdoors.and im sure it was brought to you by the infestation you had.....bugs carry this stuff from plant to plant... GOT THIS one in my book. It's in the underside of the leaf which is why it's not rubbing off...... you need to get that treated.... it's spread by insects or airborne through a injury the plant sustained. If the whole plant is affected you can use neem oil..... or use a or use vinegar water mixture...... any anti fungal spray will work... just got to keep reapplying. U better get rid of it now before your flowering gets more..... your going to have to spray sporaticly covering up the buds while you spray so they don't get wet..... if it was not starting to flower I would tell you to cut off the most affected leaves and toss them and sanitize the cutters you use extremely good...... but the plants going to be stressed already so don't cut! your going to want to switch up your control you use for purpose of wiping out pests that did not die from initial treatment and if you don't get rid of the pests you won't get rid of the fungus..... they will just keep bringing it back.

If it still matters, it's thrips. I have the same. I watched the leaves under a microscope and I saw way too many of them.
