Ebb & Grow - flood & drain - 4K HPS vertical

Just wanted to start this thread to see how many of you have similar set-up's, common but effective. Right now I've started the seedlings in humidity domes for the first week and took the tops off the domes. They were started in small rockwool cubes and will move to Gro Blocks soon. The light I'm using is a 125 Watt floodlight. I find the floodlight works well because no extra heat is needed.. I was worried about the heat at first and had the light a little high causing the seedlings to stretch. I've lowered the light since and they don't seem to be stretching much anymore. I also started using a fan since the domes were off to help with the heat and stability for the plants.

I germinated about 13 seeds.

3 Purple Kush
10 OG Kush

It will be two weeks tomorrow (Feb 19th) since I've planted the PK and the 22nd will be two weeks for the OG seedlings. 2 of the PK are thriving with one that didn't make it, and 8 strong OG 1 that's not looking so good, so 11 right now probably going to be around 10 in total and hopefully have 5-7 females (wishful thinking)

Equipment:

C.A.P Ebb & Grow - flood & drain, regular 55gal resi w/ controller unit (hydroton medium for buckets)

4 1000 Watt HPS bulbs w/ digibright ballasts (vertical lighting - no hood)

12" centrifugal fan - 1200 CFM fan w/ a 12"x24" Carbon filter

water will be going through a 4-stage RO process and I'll be using Sensi Grow & Bloom for nutes. I used Canna start on the seedlings when they were first planted.

My room is under construction right now and I've been really busy getting everything together and gathering as much information on Ebb & Flow as I can, this will be my first flood & drain grow. In the past I've used coco w/ blumats and had great success.

right off the bat I've already had problems and lost a few seedlings in the process. I started using nutes a few days ago at the lowest recommended dose, 1-2 ml per liter. I'm using tap water w/ the sensi grow (ph perfect). Since the seedlings developed at different times I was probably cutting it close with a few of the smaller ones only just getting there 3rd and 2nd set of leaves. My main symptoms were yellowing of the leaves and some of them were shriveling up dry. I haven't over watered them giving them a sip a day, only watering once the cubes have dried out.

Anyone have any idea's or similar problems with small seedlings?

Any questions or input is welcome, pictures will be coming soon!

Thanks everyone

First ones a PK that took off really nice, I think they all stretched way to much due to my light being so high in the beginning, thoughts?

Thanks everyone,

Get that light lower! Seedlings shouldnt be that elongated. Nice list if equipment how are you going to cool your room?

I'll be using negative pressure on the room to change over the air, probably with passive air vents and have a 12" fan @ 1200 CFM Cycle the air about 1.3 times per minute. (room=960)

The light is about 16" from the seedlings now.. before it was probably closer to 24" which was my bad, I was just worried about the heat, I'm not using any T5's right now just have a 125 Watt flood lamp running, keeping it nice and warm for them though.

Get the light lower if all you are using is a CFL, they can get close without any heat issues, stack them nodes! lol
