At first I thought this thread was about bud from India.... :rasta:

Is this typical of what you get as a tourist in Costa Rica, or did you have to travel inland a ways?

very interesting. all growing the same plant, or the same seedline? or all the plants in the separate seedlines have acclimated in similar manner?

if they're growing in same microclimates and using the same methods/nutrition , then i'd feel 8 seperate seedlines COULD maybe be extremely similar, but it would take some time.

have you any way to find out if these came over with the first slaves, or even back in the expedition/spaniard days?
hemp isnt native to south america, and probably not north america either (with the Possible exception of alaska and nearby)

good post.

there's no way to know where the indians got their seeds from,,, i do think these indians were smoking good , long time before any expeditions ... but, only dna can scientifically prove how close to the root we are on the tree... everything else is up to your beliefs ..

so same way there is panama red , colombian landraces , peruvian plants , and lots of brazilian ones ... theres costarican

this pot , for many years was all that was around... and kind bud was only for da f.a.m .... now, its not so easy to come across this jungle weed ,,, since the caribbean side of the country is where all the jamaican and 70% of the colombian comes in through .. most of the indian jungle weed is traded for food and mixed with colombian/jamaican brickweed to make it a bit more expensive ,... on top of that theres a growshop in the country , so things have been looking less brown and more green over here  ... i was gifted these buds while riding with cbf in the area , we got lucky ,, flowers even smell smoked ... indians will hang the plants in a ranch and burn dry palm leaves on the floor to keep bugs away and the humidity low ...

For the record it's "kine bud" and not "kind". Old Hawaiian slang. Oh, and gorgeous shots. Love the detail about the palm leaves.
