Phone controlled complete RDWC system

Hi all,

Complete Mobile/cell controlled RDWC system...

The mods have kindly given me permission to post the below

I am looking for experienced growers to give me feedback on the system and its potential. Please watch all the videos

Next project is a phone controlled undercurrent system :)

Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should.

If you have experienced growing you will realize that the lack of your physical presence will only provide problems.

I guess watching a thrips, or spider mite outbreak would be better from the beach via mobile phone than in person. :)

I love gadgets more than most, but this is nothing but trouble. If Apple can't make a phone work without an added case, then I am guessing this will be a bad idea. Apple, and Microsoft have Billions, and billions, and their shit runs into problems. I am going to guess that you have not invested 4 or 5 billion in developing this.

This is nothing more than a novelty for lazy pot heads.

I am going to go out on a limb here, and say that this will be hard to sell to serious, and industrial size growers.

How hard is it to show up, and smoke herb all day while taking care of your plants?

I do believe it has dream job written all over it.:)

I forgot to add that the dumb asses that were trying to legitimize Medical Cannabis by hooking up with the unions have already killed this idea in America. Do you think the unions would let these be installed, and take good paying green collar American jobs? Not going to happen.

I really do think this is cool as shit, but so is a heated toilet seat with built in MP3 player, and cup holder. :)

Have you watched all the videos?

The whole idea came about due to lack of time i.e turning up at site all the time...moving buckets of water around, taking measurements dosing etc also theres the security aspect....

Obviously there is nothing better than the human eye for checking for infestations etc and its not possible to prune them via a phone :) This obviously means you or someone else still have to attend the site now and then but normally for a matter of minutes only..

This system obviously isnt aimed at your fella with a tent in a closet using a watering can or advanced breeders etc....its aimed at commercial growers

IF you were to look at the videos in detail (ok the videos are not the best and could of been better) you will see that I have covered the angles relating to electronic failure

I have to agree 100% with Double O on this one.
But I also agree with the author.
As an urban grower (ie running less than 5000watts by my definition) I would use this as a tool for a vacation. I would use it for nothing else.

99% of the seeds out there are shit, and from idiots. The 1% that go ahead and do good work are lead by people who say that, as OO noted, there is absolutely zero subsitute for human contact.

So what would I consider this sort of product? An added benefit, like getting travel insurance.

At the same time, you are also supposed to be on vacation, so it would be like calling home to check how your doggy was doing. Sure we love our dog, but we took precautions and we know they are OK. If you are on vacation you have to commit 100% to vacation, don't be one of those folks that brings their phone! but I'm running off on tangents. Good idea, and keep em coming.

cheers,

/PGC

I think it's a great idea! I would want to have a system like that on the market, but the main issue would be the price. If you aim your product also to the enthusiast segment you'll be able to hit a bigger marked.

I like the topping up of main reservoir idea, but i wouldn't install that in a other building than a garage/greenhouse. At least have a small actuated valve shutting on a signal from a level switch and leak detection, instead of trusting a plastic float valve.

Also love the nutrient/ph auto adjustment! But aren't those pumps very expensive? Would like to have more info regarding the mixing/measuring tank and how the system prevents dosing too much.

What i feel i miss is option for controlling fans, ac and co2, and the combination of them. As well as controlling a humidifier.

The plastic float valves on the system are anywhere that accepts water...these act as mechanical protection in case of the very slim chance of electronic problems and will physically stop the water from entering....every process on the system also has a max timeout of which the user can set via phone...as for leak detection there is a water sensor rope around anything that contains water

Also love the nutrient/ph auto adjustment! But aren't those pumps very expensive? Would like to have more info regarding the mixing/measuring tank and how the system prevents dosing too much.

Its mainly relying on the probes of which are laboratory grade probes however there is a max cycle of the nutrient and ph down dosing. the max ml of additives (rhizotonic, cannzym, pk1314 and boost) it can add is 200ml in the video im using the canna range but any range can be used and named...if you need more than 200ml then you simply add the same additive again

This can all be done without to much of a problem :) I left this out as I didnt have the money to buy the fans, a/c, co2 etc however you can monitor the temp and humidity without problem to make sure the fan controllers are behaving themselves

Man this systems is fantastic,
there will always be kill joy nay sayers,, usually just cause they cannot think outside their world,
this is great and one hell of a way to have less exposure to current climate of illegality in most country's,
i for 1 am all for it and reakon a lot of time and effort went into this amazing piece of technology.
very well done for a excellent piece of work, the sky is the limit in this case.

This would be great for someone growing all the time. Being there every week, around the year could be PITA.

And the plastic floatvalve, you have on in you toiletseat, mines never broken so far, has your.

I would "choke" the in line a bit, all that pressure on the in-line is unnecessary in my opinion and would put unneeded strain on the floatvalve. The rez would fill slower but so what.

Is this going to be a commercial product or could you share build details with us?
If comm, what price range?

I think this is a great idea for the proper applications.

I also don't thing there were any haters commenting here. the OP asked for opinions etc, and just because they don't see a use for a system such as this does not mean they are "hating" IMO.

I personally prefer a setup that I can walk away from for a week without pulling my hair out, since I enjoy going on trips, and frequently take off to go fishing, hiking, camping, etc.

I say Kudos, and I will never knock someone for trying to make something new. Our country was build on the backs of small guys just trying to invent a better mousetrap.

I like this innovation. I think there would be no issues with thrips or bugs or anything if you setup a completely sealed hepa filtered room. bugs issues would be the least of the worries in a completely sterile room. I can see the potential. Just like anything, problems in the system need to be worked out. Technology keeps on evolving. people 25 years ago would have said it was impossible to have a mobile phone or a phone that could take 8MP pictures and send them all the way around the world in an instant.. While nothing can replace the gardener at the moment and its much more fun to do things urself the idea is on the right track. You gotta start somewhere.
To the author you just need to 'come up' on a BudAsimo and your set:biggrin:
