Can You Clone a Bud?

G

gloryoskie

So here's the deal:

Killed all my Sensi Star vegging plants. Ooops.

The last one is in flower, just buds, flushed, so low on nutes.

All fan leaves trimmed last week.

Should I even bother, I can always get more seeds. I also have
other stuff in flower/veg, not the end of the world.

So, how do you clone a bud?

you could try to reveg. cut off most of the top half of the plant. leave some branches with buds on them..Put her back to 18hrs of light and see what happens. Going to take a long time so be prepared for that.

i think you can but it will take soooo long to reveg.
yup exactly the bud will root as normal but it would be quicker to revege part of the plant than take clones. just harvest it and leave some leaves and small buds on the bottom, start feeding it again and put it under longer light period.

Thanks for the replies, will try to reveg for sentimental reasons. New seeds on order.

That Sensi Star was my first non bag seed genetics, she served me well!

I will enjoy her last fruits, tearfully, joyfully.

x2 on revegging being the best option. FWIW i've cloned a bud before with no problems but it is a slow process reverting it to veg.

yups, like what everybody else has said already. Emphasis is on "slow process" here, but it can be done indeed.
So now with so many ppl confirming your hopes, I reckon you are good to go and hope your sentimental incentives will saviour your precious piece of genetics. :)

Try for the reveg but would take a seperate clone , get something rooted off the original rootstock asap , not all survive a reveg.

These were chop day clones of lower straggly buds , two weeks to root in a dialled in bubbler , four weeks to reveg to this ...

Plenty of cuts a week later , these two gave over 50 between them

Yes...absolutely. Take a cut...get it rooted...let it re-veg. It is a slow process, but it can be done.

I have seen with my own eye - just a rooted ...eh 3 gram rooted nugget -with new growth coming out the top. I'd have not thought it possible, to be honest - but it is.

yes you can. I've cloned a bud that was a branch on the lower half of the plant about 7wks in and it rooted in a bubble cloner in 10 days and revegged fine used a mother for a 8 months or so.

The plant is re vegging, this will be the 2nd re veg for her genes. First was back in '09.

The original plant from seed is long gone. The one I'm re vegging is a clone of a clone x a lot.

I also have some of her nugs in assorted rooting medium, I have no bubbler. I'll update.

Thanks again!

Some sick humor you got there Gloryhole. :D > I wish they'd stop tasing that guy, so I can get home and watch him being tased on YouTube.

Project failed, stem rot on the reveg, clones of buds browned up, no rooting signs, tossed the lot.

Would have been cool to get her back, now that she's gone I
want her even more!

No doubt I'll get over it.

Anyone else ever lose that special plant due to carelessness?
Fess up!

Not going to lie, I have lost a couple keepers along the way, one quite recently, but on the bright side it opens up a spot to find a new one.

Thanks for sharing!

Many folks have lost keepers, I have no remorse, well, maybe a little.

I am now working some Zamaldelicas, a thunk, some 32 year old bagseed plants and some sensi star x nycds.

I needed the extra room anyway!
