Round 1 - Cindy 99 Hybrid & Cheese - 250W HPS

Hi :tiphat:

I have successfully grown outdoors for several years.
Now I want to try out an indoor grow :woohoo:

Of course, I was very inspired by reading a lot of good posts here at ICMAG.
Now we will see if I can use what I have read to produce a good result.

I have mainly found inspiration in this thread:
https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=22192&highlight=250W

Wow, what great results these skilled Growers are able to show.
I'm very much impressed :)

My first indoor grow can be followed from start to finish in this thread.

Help and comments are received with open arms :thank you:

Some things can´t be varied:

- Tent: 32 "x 32" x 64 "(80 x 80 x 160 cm)
- 250W HPS in the cool tube for veg and flowering
- Fertilizers: Canna Terra Vega, Flores and PK 13/14
- Small pots for starting seeds.
- Larger pots for transplanting: 1.6 and 2.9 gallons (6 and 11 liters)
- Soil for transplanting: Plagron Allmix 100% Bio
- Water from condenser dryer
- 1 x Cheese 4 x Cindy 99 Hybrid (feminized seeds)

The time for start of using the following can vary:

- Carbon filter
- Ductfan for the carbon filter (and the cool tube if needed).

And then there are all the things that can be varied and modified and ....
This is where I need you, my dear fellow Growers.

I did two things wrong from the start:

- After germination I did not use the fertilized-free soil I had bought for the small pots. I used my fertilized Allmix.

- The small sprouts were too close to the cool tubefrom the start: 1 " (2 cm). Now the distance is approximately 7" (18 cm).

I hope these errors are irrelevant to the final result.

Let's see a few pics. 3-4 days in veg.

Cheese to the left.
4 Cindy Hybrids 99 to the right.

As can be seen the cooltube is not connected to the ductfan. The ventilation through the tube is made with a table-fan. This is apparently insufficient. Temps are 80F / 27C

Will the bulb take damage if the ventilation through the cooltube only is made by a fan??
Can I run the cooltube without any ventilation if temps are okay near planttops??

Thanks for visiting.

C99 Hybrid with a minor heat-damage caused by minimal distance to the light the first 24 hours.

I don't think the bulb will damage. Most of these bulbs are designed to be used outside in a sealed lamp assembly. (yard lights)

Thanks DD. Your pics are very inspiring to me. You´r a real master :)

Here´s C99 Hybrid 7 days in veg.
You can see a small heat-damage on her two biggest leaves (slightly yellow areas).
I have raised the bulb. Now the distance is 10" / 25 cm.
Temps are close to 81 F / 28 C day and night.

Could I lower the bulb if I can control temp to be max 81 F / 28 C at planttops?

Time to water for the first time since they started.

And they drank the pure water on a picnic, enjoying Mother Natures greatest HPS

They spent about 2 hours outside,
Guess I can use this. Sun is getting stronger and stronger.

Ok. This is my first educational indoor grow.
Reading cant stand alone. You got to have your fingers in the dirt to learn.

In these pictures it is clear to see that the plants were lightburned at the first set of leaves.
The distance from the bulb and the plants were only 1" (2.5 cm) the first 24 hours.

But it's all right now, I've learned my lesson well
(You see, you can't please everyone, so you've got to please yourself)
