Should I shorten my Veg Box for flower room Help please! (pics)

Alright ive got all my materials to put together my cab together its 6ft tall by 4ft wide by 2ft deep. I set a shelf splitting the cab into two equally tall 3ft T x 4ft W x 2ft D sections. I plan on doing a perpetual SOG the bottom half is a veg box with one 125watt cfl and ill be adding another one next week. The top has a 400watt hps. Im going to keep a bonsai style mom and clones in the bottom and flower up top. In the guide i read it said bonsaised moms only take up 8"x 8". Through out my threads I've heard several people say i should shorten the veg room for more flower space. So i figured id make this thread actually asking.....

Should I shorten my Veg box for more viable Flower space????

don't you think the light is too close to the pot? I do with 200w clf and my pot is 15cm away from the bulb. and yeah you could do that I think with 400 hps veg them for 3 month and flower. it won't get much tall during veg time unless you do 18/6 cycle. I think 24/0 light cycle keeps plant shorter then doing 18/6. or you could do 12/12 from seed so you don't have to worry about the height. also you can LST them to keep them short.

Unless it has to remain vertical (stealth or space), I'd turn it sideways. Otherwise I'd pop it out all together and set up an additional veg box. Go vertical and screen in some big plants.

Well as to dtf's post thats my concern but i'm under the impression the HPS would be for flower. And i was sure it was close I read with a cool tube you could keep them six inches away at least and i'm kind of in that sort of situation. I was planing on LST just worried about size of plant including pot. So i was going to drop the shelf a extra foot.

as to el bee's post it has to remain vertical for space issues aswell as the reason i can't really put an extra box in right now My rooms kind of covered with stuff. I live upstairs and theres no addic so i got sort of a a slanted sealing my walls are only 3 straight feet tall then they turn into a trappazoid so the only flat wall is that one. I was really set on having 2 chambers so i'd like to keep that if possible but if i can't i can't.

is there anyway you guys think i can make this work keeping it vertical? should I go 4 ft top 2 ft bottom?

I also know for a fact i can lst my mother but will it work with bonsai?

also can I lst my clones in sog aswell just to make them shorter?

ya i have a similar cab and i split mine at 4 feet on top 2 feet on bottom. i was just having a discussion with a buddy about how 4 feet is pretty much the minimum you can have a safe flowering with a 400w hps, 3 feet is possible, but very very difficult.
