The Haze Experts Appreciation thread

Hello everyone I would like to start a thread about the beauty of the strain Haze. I started growing just over 4 years ago mainly because its impossible getting anything good in the UK unless you know people. I thought I always knew what I was after which was something nice and stoney that would stick me to the chair as I always though that this is what good weed did to you. Then I came across Haze, sorry to all you Indica lovers out their but their is no way I could back to feeling stoned I want to get high.

The strain Haze has had an incredible effect on me and my growing I now finally feel like I know what connoisseur weed actually is. Im now thinking about this strain constantly lol and Iv decided to post this on the old stoners crash pad because I feel that your a generation of smokers, growers had something a bit more special in your stash boxes than we have today.

What I would like to know is if their is anyone else who has had the same experience as me with haze ? this strain is now literally all I grow unless it has haze in it then im not interested lol. Also what has been the best haze you have had and did anyone try the original Haze that was around in the 60s and if so could you describe the high. Also If their are any expert haze growers that can give me advice on how to grow this strain better then please let me know. So far iv tried Nevilles Haze and super lemon haze both of which were superb. Many thanks Clive.

Well, I'm well past 40 and very interested in becoming a haze expert as well...I stacked about 4 or 5 big mouth jars with Nevilles today and I have a cabinet full of diff hazes in jars. It's a tough road but if you're older you like hazes more and more, you just need to find the "Ultimate haze" and you're in there. This is the best haze I've grown in my 4yr search for a cut...

Thats a lovely Nevilles haze bud their, iv only tried two hazes so far and Nevilles haze was the best. Not taking anything away from super lemon haze because thats lovely as well but Nev haze is a different class altogether. It can give me the fear though can Nev haze lol it takes you up and up and then the small bit of indica kicks in and levels it of.

Well,

I wasn't around, so I can't speak to the hazes of the 60's. I have tried several haze crosses like Nevilles in the 'Dam and thought they were very enjoyable smokes, but not sure how true to their haze roots they really were.

I have had the pleasure of growing Ace Seeds Old Timer Haze and she is a special strain for sure. Again, I'm not sure how these seeds match up to the legendary hazes of years past and I do not want to start a pissing contest with folks on who has the best/real haze genetics. Having said that, I have had success growing her and she is as wild of a sativa as I've ever grown.

I've also recently grown Rez's SSSDH Bx1

As you can see, there is a marked difference in these two strains. Both grow great outdoors at my latitude but the Ace gear needs a green house because it flowered 20+ weeks from clone. Rez's was about 12-13 weeks and wrapped up at the end of October.

I like the Ace gear to those mystical hazes of years gone bye. It is fruity, woody and has a soaring high with a tinge of psychadelics that is a real day starter. I have yet to sample the Rez buds, but they look like they will be delicious.

You can grow these plants for sure if you've got the love, patience and decent enough weather to finish them off. They love organics and a light hand. The Ace gear went into a rich loamy soil and I may have fed it once or twice lightly in the 20 weeks she flowered. Same with Rez gear, but I had it in a big pot and fed twice in the 12 weeks. Good luck in your quest!

Hi UHN great pics of hazes you have their. Yeah iv heard allot about oldtimers haze and all of it good im gonna save up for those seeds. I wish I could grow outdoors we just dont get the climate in England I would love to try a sample of outdoor haze sometime. Is their much of a demand for haze abroad does anyone know ?. Over here your average dealer has never even heard of haze its all bloody cheese im sick of it.

Thanks Clive. I'm not sure of demand as I grow and smoke my own and pretty much keep to myself, stay within legal limits, etc. I have vegged and started Ace OTH1 hazes indoors but always finished them outdoors. I think they veg great if you've got some T5's with mixed spectrum on them. Once in flower, you really need to amp up the watts, but I would continue to keep the T5's as the haze seem to like them. I've seen a grower or two get nice flowers indoors, but expect a unruly bitch that will need to be well trained, maybe scrogged. You would have no problem with the Rez SSSDH indoors except you would want to make sure you had zero light interruptions in the dark cycle. Hope you find a strain that meets your needs.

Cheers,

It's Nevilles for sure, we did a side by side with diesel and some other Nevs and we couldn't see any ecsd in it apart from it's floppy branches. The flowers are all haze sized, little tiny calyx where my Larry/nevilles all had giant diesel sized calyx... I'd love for it to be one of mine but, no way, it's MNS...That Oldtimers haze outdoors looks unreal.I'd love to smoke some of the outdoor from a nice climate. It's been almost 30 yrs since I've seen outdoor haze and I was a skunk snob then and didn't appreciate it but hey, I was 18.:)

i was gifted an indian haze, i'm at 34*n and she's still going for it full on outside! lol i'm hoping i can chop her down before christmas but i might not be able to, beautiful lanky loose buds all over. i have one inside flowering and it's just plain sad...there is some cinnamon haze that i finally chopped after almost 16 weeks inside, she filled out much more than the indian haze has, this cinnamon is supposed to be half arjan's though and i just haven't read much good stuff about arjan's haze, i hope the cinnamon is good but i am just not expecting too much

it seems that the ace oldtimers haze and the neville's haze are some of the most highly respectable ones, the neville's pictures are just plain amazing

some good info here about mixing spectrums for them inside, that poor indoor indian one has hps and a red t5 but it's still not happy, i'm feeling real close to just throwing in the towel on that poor girl and letting her go outside, lol i wonder if she would even finish before the days started to get too long at this point though....lol i'm rambling now, well can't wait to give the indian and mod cinnamon haze a sample...p.s. i don't like these for starting my day, i get very hazy in the head and lackadaisical lol, i usually start out with a thai cuz it's just clear and clean, when it's winding down and there's not much else i need to responsible for then yes please bring me a strong haze!

umm here's a pic or 2 of the indian haze from november 12th.

Thanks CHACO. I think these Old Timer's Haze genetics are worthy of future exploration. The plant could have gone even beyond the nearly 21 weeks of flower, but I thought it was a good window. Also, I had started to notice that a few of the oldest calyxes on the plant had mold, so I was diligent in treating the plant daily and harvested when there was about 10%-15% amber.

The pictures in the post above where from the plant cloned and run in the late winter through spring. I started flower for about 5 weeks indoors in winter and then moved it outdoors. The first run was outdoors and flowered for over 17 weeks. I decided it wasn't quite ready which is why I let it go another 3 weeks from clone. Here is the 17 flowered week plant towards finish.

Here are some dry flower shots...

I may start a winter Ace Purple Old Timer Haze x Meao Thai plant or two soon. From what I've seen, the Haze shines through with 20+ week flowering phenos but with a stronger emphasis on the original thai inputs and ever so slightly increased flower volume.

I've got a few packs of the Ace Old Timer's for future exploration and I hope that Ace releases some new stock in 2012. I've got some Tom Hills Haze as well as a pack from Seedsman Original Haze, so suffice to say, I could spend quite some time working only with those genetics. Greenhouse requirements will keep the work slow, but I'm looking forward to the future.

One more thought, these Ace Haze flowers really do best after a long cure. The flowers today are much better than they were in the first months of their cure. The psychedelic properties get more pronounced the longer she cures.

Good luck in your continued Haze search.

I've got a BB x Haze going in my cab right now, only than less a week into flower, but then my 150W HPS ballast screwed up, I think it's the capacitor, anyway, I think might have hermied it. I'm kinda afraid to even look close. Had to go back to my 180W LED to flower. SO looking forward to it too, dammit :-(

That purple one looks lovely cravenmore any chance of a little smoke report on that when you get the chance ?. Iv noticed on the Hazes that I can smoke allot and still get a nice buzz of them. you get your money worth with haze thats for sure. The oldtimer 1 haze gets allot of buzz almost as much as Nevilles haze.

tried getting some original haze seeds today and noticed that seedsman has discontinued the line which is a shame as I heard he was the only one with skunkman original stock.

Tom Hill Haze f2, flowering for 28 days (pict from 2 days ago)
Already showing up some resin, one does smell like typical haze you find in ssh, neville, the other seems more like a sweet incense. Can't wait to see how they turn, thanks for miaumiau for sharing this !

I think that after 80 days you can/should start picking the ripe chunks some of the plants throw. There seems to be a fine line between older flowers dying off and new ones shooting out.I have a big nevilles at 102 days today and some clusters have been ripe for a few weeks and some are brand new.The older riper sections are amber enough to look golden, big fist sized chunks of yellow/gold...I smoked some of this plant taken at 83 and the strength was excellent 2 weeks after I picked it...Seems like the higher/fear factor buzzes come from the plants that ripen in patches over a 6 week period.

Hi Chaco I was looking at your albums yesterday those Neville Hazes looked incredible your a top grower.. Do you think Hazes are sensitive to feed ? When I had my Nevilles on the go it seemed they hated to much of a feed I would always get a get a slight leaf curl. Iv noticed super lemon haze is the same.
