I for one am disturbed with the, management,so to speak of our great nation. As well as many others. Can our problems be soley directed at the president? Or are there many other things goin on in the background that we don't know. I know that we have it better here than some folks have it in other countries.BUT, there is something terribly wrong with the way our country is being managed. We are rolling downhill like a snowball headin for hell. Input???

Our biggest problem is that congress is beholden to special interests and the average Joe gets the hose. The middle class is quickly becoming the lower class. "Job creators" get tax breaks, but don't create jobs. Instead, they lay off workers, force the remaining people to work harder and pocket the profits and the tax breaks. Then the CEO gets a huge bonus for saving the company money.

People are working harder and getting less for their efforts. People are pissed and rightfully so. I got downsized nearly 3 years ago from a $60k a year job.

I can't blame the President since I lost my job the day he took office. We were in the shitter before he came along.

America sold out to the bankers in 1912 under Woodrow Wilson when he signed the Federal Reserve act. We are now under 100 years of oprression from the global elitist bankers. None of what you see is happening on accident. Until the people rise up and take back what is theirs conditions will worsen. You have to look beyond what you see, the President and the Congress, it is what is happening behind closed doors at secret meetings with the worlds richest people you should worry about.

the great majority of our people have become too caught up in shit that does not matter............ television, movies, video games...

that is what is wrong...

that is how the government has managed to sneak in and pass laws and make decisions that we all find out about AFTER they have been passed.....or if we do find out about them before they pass, there is little to nothing we can do...

Pick an issue, any economic issue you're ticked off about. Chances are good to excellent it's being bought off - against your better interests.

Yup. People are hypnotized by the media and the toys that go with it. I now see people crossing the street and walking right in front of traffic because they are staring at some hand held gizmo. It's bad enough driving and texting/talking, but now even pedestrians are doing it. It's as if the media has seized control of people's minds on a vast scale. The people don't seem to realize they are under an hypnotic spell....they have become droids....

I tend to think that this is a large part of our problem. If we want to lessen taxes on job creators they sure as shit should be creating jobs in our country. We have exported the manufacturing base upon which the greatness of America was built. We have continually outsourced our technology and industry and now we are even outsourcing our war efforts.

As to the problem being our desire to act in the world community, I have to staunchly disagree. While I honestly believe a more isolationist position would be advantageous to us as a country, we cannot neglect the fact that we are able to stand up for those who cannot stand for themselves. If a country desires democracy, they should have that chance. If they wish to stand against leaders who put them down, we should be standing behind them supporting them through either material or non material means.

Self determination is the right of every people, a right we must again begin to exert by taking our country back from the special interest groups that virtually own it. I think great strides could be made toward accomplishing the goal of making America great again but they must begin with a reformation of the tax codes both personal and corporate in this country. Furthermore, we should reward companies that choose to keep factories in our country and those who bring them back, these are the companies who should pay a lower tax rate. The goal of this tax code must be to create a larger middle class if America is to succeed.

As to the OP's question of whether the blame can be laid at the feet of our president, I think anyone who does a contentious examination of the situation we find ourselves in will realize that the foundations of this crisis were laid long ago and not by one administration but by many. Our debt situation is one that must be rectified, however, so too must the inequity of our tax system, the purchasing of our legislature by special interests, our defense spending, educational systems, subsidies, and out of control entitlement programs.

Simply put, we are in a world of shit and it is all of our own making but it doesn't belong to Obama any more or less than any of the presidents who preceded him. It took two parties and plenty of presidents to get us into this situation and it will likely take two parties and many more presidents to get us out of it. This is not a issue partisan in nature no matter what the pundits tell you, this is an issue which must be beyond partisan. Democrats and republicans alike must slaughter their heifers and calfs at the alter of our great nation in order that we may go on and return to the path from which we never should have diverged.

I could go on but it would probably become more of a diatribe than anything else. Let it suffice to say that we have a great many things to fix and it will take the two parties actually working together to fix it. Fat chance of that happening any time soon though. Hopefully this will inspire some to look at this without the partisan venom that is so common in our nation's political discourse. Peace!

all great posts so far,,,

whats happening in america has been planned for a long time to coincide with this global paradigm shift,,,

certain family dynasties that have owned all the banks and hidden behind monarchies and religions for hundreds of years have been writing/rewriting the history that they want us to have and trying to create their future,,, so many of their puppets have infiltrated america since its inception,,,

america just is not controlled like people think,,, the president has no power, he's a low down freak acting as a conduit for the higher powers,,, so much of what goes on in america is actually decided in israel and in london,, its all backwards..

america was never independant, it is crown property through the illuminati who have stamped their symbols all over everything and every government body in america since their charter to exist and steal the money from americans in 1776,, these lizards were sold the plot of land in DC, named after them,, the knights of columb (the dove),, which is just like london or brussels or berlin/paris/rome etc where these scum officiate and thieve from us through their unfair taxes and usury,, they have consistently degraded the working classes rights and swung the distribution of power and influence fully towards themselves,, they are globalists and feel as happy in texas or new york as they do in london or dubai or their latest sun worshipping city astana in kazakhstan,,, with sub bloodlines running the media, politics and corporations for them, the 13 major ruling families such as the rothschildes, rockerfellers, oppenheimers, warburgs, kissingers (etc) simply concentrate on hiding that they own 80%+ of the world and plotting our demise through a variety of events and circumstances that benefit their agenda,,

its a syndicate basically that predates america,, it seriously hates what america tried to be and it has made america into what the masons call the new egypt,,,, a cabal that is playing chess with us all and are 20 moves ahead,,

people who dont know their past, consign themselves to history...

they now nearly need to sink america like the titanic so there is no super power left in the west to disagree with their plans,,,

oh and they are now using financial terrorism against us,, the general populace,, its world war 4,, its not being played like normal wars, but it will involve the whole world this time..

it could take forever to explain all the ills bred into society that have led to this from their ancient trick of the brewing of poisons such as beer to degrade us to using portals to evil like mtv to sexualise children to breaking down the importance and fabric of the family and the role of parents,, generally corporatising the whole world and ruining the morals of everyone in every country and spending their money on research into death..

"every generation needs a revolution" thomas jefferson....

I think it's the military/industrial complex that Eisenhauer warned about in one of his last speeches I beleive. We are now in the throes of the military/industrial control of the country. You know the military/ contractor/ industry are running the country when Senators like Graham, Mc Cain and othr are starting to advocate the lessening of the Veterans/ Retirement benefits for all vets and retirees. Cut the benefits rather than downsize the the military and related industries. Got to cut the pentagons budget so cut the vet benefits fuck the are only the ones fighting for the country. All vets and retired military need to contact their reps and let them know that it bull shit. We served and alot of us gave it our all only to have the very assholes that sent us to war now say we need to give some more blood so the corpoations don't lose the fat fuck bonuses they get for stealing the government blind in te last two or three wars.
Fuck these guy piss me off, and they wonder why the OWS movement started, people are sick and tired of being sick and tired.
My rant in before the bin:smoweed:

The biggest problem we have as Americans is complacency. People don't seem to care that every day we give the government, major corporations, and bankers more power by simply doing nothing. Occupy wall street is a beautiful thing because at least some are starting to realize that doing anything even without a defined goal is better than what we've been doing.

We can't blame anyone but ourselves for not paying attention and not getting involved. We've been sidetracked, led by the nose, and generally spoon fed everything they've wanted us to think, feel and do for decades.

This prohibition is a perfect example of how the majority of americans have just stood by and let our rights be pissed away by the powers that be. Half the country now supports legalization yet the idea is still laughed off the table. As it is they can raid you, seize your assets, and lock you away for something 30 million americans admit to doing. All they have to do is make something illegal that whoever they don't like does, and they can "legally" fuck your life.

It's going down soon brothers. One way or another.

The key problem is corporate bribery of politicians.

Nothing can ever be fixed until this stops.

The only way to stop it is to end 'corporate personhood' that allows these bribes.

Since the Supreme Court made that bullshit split decision backing corporate personhood, the only way is to pass an amendment to the Constitution that simply states "A corporation is not a person."

How could anyone not vote for such a simple truth. Thats something both the Tea Party and OccupyWallStreet could get behind! And probably 75%-85% of the general vote!

Its gotta happen!!

The word "Federal" is becoming, too large, too broad and too all encompassing of a term. It is taking over our lives, running the debt up to infinite and tearing the fabric of the US to shreds.
Here is some lyrics to one of my favorite songs, because I think it sums it up perfectly.

First they put away the dealers,
keep our kids safe and off the street.
Then they put away the prostitutes,
keep married men cloistered at home.

Then they shooed away the bums,
then they beat and bashed the qu33rs,
turned away asylum-seekers,
fed us suspicions and fears.
We didn't raise our voice,
we didn't make a fuss.
It's funny there was no one left to notice
when they came for us.

Looks like witches are in season,
you better fly your flag and be aware
of anyone who might fit the description,
diversity is now our biggest fear.

Now with our conversations tapped
and our differences exposed,
how ya supposed to love your neighbor
with our minds and curtains closed?
We used to worry 'bout big brother,
now we got a big father and an even bigger mother.

And you still believe
this aristocracy gives a fuck about you.
They put the mock in democracy
and you swallowed every hook.

The sad truth is
you'd rather follow the school into the net
'cause swimming alone at sea
is not the kind of freedom that you actually want.

So go back to your crib and suck on a tit
go bask in the warmth of your diaper.
You're sitting in shit and piss
while sucking a giant pacifier,
a country of adult infants.
A legion of mental midgets,
a country of adult infants,
a country of adult infants.
all regaining their unconsciousness

If the american people allow private banks to control the issuance of thier currency. First by inflation then by deflation . The banks and corporations that will grow up around them, will deprive the people of all thier property until thier children will wake up homeless on the continent thier fathers conquered........ What is happening to the United States? Is this country going into another depression as it did in the 1930s? Is the bottom, about to drop out of the financial markets? The President and the Congress are constantly lying to us. Who are we to believe? Where do we go from here? The upcoming Presidental election in November 2012 will be very important to the survival of this nation. It has been revealed that "history does repeat itself". The Roman and the Greek empires or governments went through the same thing that the United States is now going through. The founding fathers built this country on the principle of "in God we trust". The difference between the Roman and Greek government and the United States government is in the "Declaration of Independence" in which it states "we the people". This government is supposed to be for the people, not for the lobbyists. Congressmen are elected by the people, to represent the interests of the people, not elected by the lobbyists for their interests. The President takes an oath in which he promises to defend this country, the United States. So why are we defending Iraq? Rome fell, Greece fell, is this country following their faith? In the early days of this country, it was taboo for the President to lie to the citizens of this nation. If he did, he was impeached. Now, today, they lie, steal, cheat, and do whatever they want to before the eyes of its citizens, and the citizens do nothing nor demand nothing. This government keeps its citizens divided between rich and poor, black and white, and now immigrants and non-immigrants. As long as we are divided, then they, the government, feel that they can do whatever they darn well please. This is our government, "we the people". Let's take it back! This government is spending our money: we are taxed to the bone. Trillions of dollars are spent on wars, give-away programs, and yet, when it come to spending our money on the citizens of this country, we are told that it is pork barrel spending. Give us the PORK!!!
