Dry Ice Keif (Hash) w/BUBBLE BAGS **MACROS/PICS**

I found a new use for my bubble bags. No water, just dry ice. Very easy!!! There are plenty of videos on youtube that show the process.
Here's the outcome. The green is from the 220 bag. We're going to use it for butter. We might press the rest. The jars are one pint.

Wow that's a stash! I saw one of those videos where the dude used dry ice and it looked dead simple and seemed to produce great results.

Love the leaf pic!!

really nice grandma

is that stuff melt? I was thinking of perhaps looking into that but wondered if it melted fully or just kinda burned

Thanks for sharing! I used to exclusively use Kief / dri sift, really great stuff if you do it right!

I wish I had seen this yesterday! I just ran a batch of bubble with ice and water.... next time dry ice! Thanks!

How It Works

How It Works

The dry ice method uses bubble bags, a bucket, a big piece of glass or other smooth material, trim and dry ice.
Break up the dry ice into good size chunks. Put your trim in the bucket with the dry ice. Cover it with the upside down bag that you intend to use. Shake it around for a while then flip it over, putting all the material into the bag. Some people remove the bag from the bucket, some don't. We do. Make sure you flip the bucket when you're over the glass. Shake your bag and collect a big layer of keif on the glass.
VERY simple. Check youtube for many instruction videos.
We used the 73 bag first. When doing this process, you're collecting what comes out of the bags. When using bubble bags in the correct way, you end up collecting what stays in the bag. Meaning, what's coming out of the 73 bag is what normally stays in the 25 bag (the best).
Our 73 bag run gave us 25 grams, 90 bag we got 17 grams, 220 bag we got 68 grams. We have 490 grams of shake left so that means we must have started with 600 grams (1 lb, 5 oz).
We use sugar leaf and plant bottoms, which have a lot of popcorn buds.
MELT- I haven't used any yet. I don't know if it melts. Truthfully, my keif never really melts? I don't know what the deal is with melt? Does that mean less vegetation in the keif? Or does it mean the buds were fresh cut when you got the keif.
I will post and let you know if it melts once I get a chance to try it. :)

Niiiice!! Seems so easy.

And melting/bubbling is basically a sign of purity. The more plant material the less it will melt/bubble

actually, the best hash when using bags isn't the 25. that may be the purest without plant matter, but the best is usually the 73 or 90, because those have the in tact trichome heads. the 25 will be trichome stalks and pieces of the head.
great work! you should have medicine for a while

Fucking awesome...
I just finished trimming, and ill definately be doing this when the trim is dry and cured. Im trying to understand tho...is it important to the smaller micron sizes first, and gradually work up to the 220? Is it possible to make just one grade hash using the 90 for instance and just running it all thru that one? How big is the risk of shaking too much with the dry ice vs. shaking without dry ice? I made drysift out of all my trim last time, and used the exact same method just without any ice...i just crushed the bone dry trim in the bag after takin it out of the freezer, and just shook it over a mirror...came out ok, but i should have stopped shaking before i did..the hash wasnt as pure as i could have wished for..

That's what I was thinking. I've never had anything that melted. I've used my bubble bags the normal way and the dry-ice method, and I've used my keif box. I guess I'm going to have to do some research and experimenting. All of our grow is for our own use so I don't have to worry about making things that are marketable. Keif works great but it would be nice to have some melt for our own stash.

Very interesting. Now I'm going to have to get my camera out and take some macros. Maybe run a first high of the day test on them. All this time I've been saving the stuff from the smallest bag for personal stash! lol whoops.

You know.......I really don't know? I watched several videos from youtube and I think they all used just the biggest bag? I'm not at all an expert on extractions. This was something completely new to me. Search "dry-ice hash" on youtube. There's lots of videos available.

I have never done it, but I will start with the 160 bag for my first experiment when I do.

I can always resieve it later for grades, easier than getting rid of plant material larger than trichome heads, that breaks up some with resieving.

PS On the other hand, check out the Utube thread on the subject in this forum successfully using a 220 micron bag.
