First grow - flower day 34, Nirvana NL x Shiva

I'm another overgrow refugee. I had a thread on OG charting my first grow from seed to smoke, but alas, it's all been lost :(

Anyway, these are the latest pictures of my grow. They are Nirvana NL x Shiva grown under a 250w hps. I started with 4 plants and got 2 females.

Currently at day 34, and although they have ok buds, they arent really getting up to the size i would like.. I realise growing under a 250w light might be limiting the yeild i can get, but can i expect them to get much bigger? I think they have about 2-3 weeks left...

Oh yeah, sorry about the blurry pics, i cant get closeups on my camera :)

Welcome and congrats on your first grow. You've done very well. Yes those buds will bulk up in tne next three to four weeks. They should frost up and mature nicely. Keep doing what your doing.

they look very nice indeed. do you see any male flowers on them girls? i grew nl x shiva out and got male flowers...coarse they didnt come from the same place as yours did thats why i ask. slater

I dont think they have any male flowers on them... It seems each stage of growing is fraught with worry. I'm pretty sure they wont hermie now, but im starting to get worried about them going mouldy when i harvest them!!

i grew some of nirvanas nl X shiva two times before. both times they were very easy to grow and were very good smoke. the last time i grew them was in dwc buckets for the first time. What a difference that made. I got twice as much hydro than with my soiless mix the first grow.

How long did it take to flower those plants? and how did you keep them so short!! My 2 girls are over 5foot!!

i cut mine early i think around day 55 because i was moving but they could have gone another week i think . Those plants in the pics were pretty rootbound i found after i harvested. The DWC ones were a very bushy 3 1/2 to 4 feet, lots of training. I really wish i still had some to smoke. Everyone that tried it was pretty impressed after a month in the jars.

Here are my 2 girls at flower day 41!

I think i have another week or so then they get the chop.. I'm debating chopping the main cola's off first, then giving the lower buds another week or so to fatten up, as most of them are still quite small (my fault for not training!!)

Nice man, lookin pretty damn good. I'm on my first grow now also using a 250w HPS and I'm loving it. Those nugs are pretty fat from the looks of it. I was debating what to do about the lower foliage also. I think it only makes sense to let them go longer, no point in cutting premature buds, right?

Thats what i've been thinking, although from what i've read, the buds mature from the bottom of the plant up, so if you chop the top and let the lower ones go one, your top and biggest bud will be more of a head high (clear tricomes), and your lower buds will be more of a body high (cloudy\amber tricomes).

I want my biggest bud to be perfect though, so maybe i will have to let the bottom ones get an ultra heavy stone :) It should be nice to have a mix of highs from one plant as well.....

Day 48 of my grow has just finished. The buds are starting to fatten up nicely, although i made abit of a mistake and burnt alot of the leaves around the main cola of one of my plants!!!!

I think i have about a week to go, which will make it 8 weeks in total of flowering. Anyone else grown this strain? How long did you flower for?
