Hi, maybe time for another thread

Got six plants in 3 litre pots, will transplant to bigger containers as soon as the m/f-ratio is known. 4 plants were started from seed and 2 female clones. Medium is recycled soil and simple 2-part (organic)soil ferts and some seaweed. For light osram nav-t 150w bulb and standard magnetic ballast. For air exchange carbon filter+160m3/h inline fan and passive intake.

Don't know when the flip will happen, hopefully they show sex soon so I can transplant and take cuts. Seen some preflowers in couple of plants but too small to identify even with magnification. Males could be used for some pollen chucking fun. Usually I have more females than males when sprouting seeds but it could always change.

Strains are chemdog dd and orient express as clones and from seed homemade g13xnycd-cross (not by me, don't know by who, got as a gift years ago). Originally the plan was to use only clones, but some died and little variety isn't bad as this isn't clearly commercial op in any way :) Support and trimming will be done when they need it.

I'd like to get a male to do a incross:) Checked them briefly and noticed preflowers in 3 plants so far so hopefully not long anymore.

65cmx65xcmx110cm or about 2x2x3,5 ft or so, carbon filter takes space from the top so lower in reality. It's a bit big for 150w but easier to cool.

Yeah I was going to ask how are the temps in there... You think it would be higher than 85 if you had the fan off?

Not in wintertime, summer maybe, but I hope to do one run after this one and keep a break for summer. Maybe even get a better apartment to rock couple of 600 watters, but that just talk now:) Thanks for commenting btw

Yes it's Ace orient express, cut from the feminised version. I don't know which way it leans, but going trough the thread by Dubi I'm quessing it's a bit china yunnan leaning as he said the the regular version is bit more clear, but that's just a quess. Got a quite indica stuctrure and nice yielder. Happy clear high, not racy. I'd love to try their golden tiger and thais at some point too, well pretty much every sativa cross they got, same goes for Cannabiogen too :)

Hi Red!

Yes another one, hopefully some mishaps will avoided this time, especially shoots shadowing each other and hopefully no curling issues. Looked again those preflowers that showed, so far all seem to have a calyx-like shape, but it's still too early to say definitely, thou my quesses are usually spot on.

You need the space for the vert to work out well. Your attempt is gonna work out much better than my dual bub because of space. i'd suggest 2x2 as a minimum for a small wattage vert. Only because you need to fit plants in there without getting too close.

Gonna do few things differently than last time, mainly focusing on getting them horizontally flat so no shades and trimming to accompany that. There were no shops at walking distance selling good net-material so I got stiff coated iron wire. I think simple fence between two sticks in each will be enough to train them, thought chicken wire or plastic net would work too.

I did the chicken wire route and it was a bitch. If i were you i'd try something more flexible. two sticks in the pot and a tight, flexible screen would be best. That way you can always move the plants around..

my biggest problems was SCROG on a piece of chicken wire thats hard to get inside. but than again i just made a cylinder around the bulbs...

unthing, I dig your setup. I'm with bb, 2 x 2 is the perfect size for a 150. The lower part of a tomato cage might make a good bulb guard. If you ever have heat issues, a fan blowing on the bulb will make loads of difference.

Been looking for some small and not noisy fan, haven't found it yet locally, but I'll get away without it if they don't get too close to the bulb. For summer it would be great thou, but that's almost 5 months away. There's some lil' satisfaction of having just two electrical devices, the lamp and the inline fan.

For support I have sticks bought from garden store and some stiff coated metal wire, which will be wrapped to sticks to fence and train the plants to it. Bit like here, but with more than one wire, maybe 4-5 wires in the "fence" will be enough for plants less than 2 feet tall

Sounds good and those are impressive buds for a 150. Wally has those plastic turbo fans in various sizes. They move lots of air and you could center one between your pots and raised above the cab floor (only if you need it.) Even if it doesn't lower temps in the hot summer, ample air movement will help prevent airy buds.

If you're looking for a small fan capable of handling a scrubber, 5 or 6" AC server fans are much stronger than dcv pc fans. They're only a few inches thick and a short can would make a neat little fan/scrubber combo. I've got an active air blower that's rated 29db. A speed controller on low gives me about half the noise. If your fan/scrubber combo isn't sized too small, a speed controller can make a big difference. I won't say it'll be silent but you should be able to blame the noise on a room fan etc.

I'm looking for a floorfan if that's the correct word, or mini version of those black fans that many peeps have below the bulb in their vertical setups. My inlife fan is pretty silent and works nicely with the scrubber. Wally? I quess it's northamerican storebrand. I live in europe. Gotta look to those serverfans, I do have an adapter that's cabable of running bunch of pc fans, haven't used it lately, all those wires make it sketchy thought not dangerous.

Probably the most questionable part of this setup is the medium, which is has been reused for years and might/will account for some problems. I'd feel funny to buy new soil for every round so it's gets reused. Got two bins of soil, about 100 litres in total and the unused part usually rests for months, roots left behind disappear over time. Not the most exact prodecure. I did have problems with mites some years ago, but that got resolved by letting the soil sit out in freezing winter and cleaning the cab with antiseptics(just to be sure)
