Having a problem with new veg.when it is 72 days in to flowering. freind is growing blue sonja, c99,nyc and white widow.

Problem is the blue sonja is reveging on a 12-12 cycle.(again 72 days in to flower)
Here is a couple pics of the elongated ropes. (as they now are called).and you can see the new growth on top of old purple leaves and buds...

Also a pic of white widow and all is good with it, c99 and nyc...
The light source was moved to a 8 on and 16 off today to try and fix it...

The room is 72-75 during day, with co2 and 65-68 at night with plenty of air movment...

Wow, that looks like hell man. If everything else in the garden is doing fine, I would just chalk it up as a "loss", because even if you did find out whats wrong with it, there is really no way to get it back to looking normal. You guys can still smoke it, make hash(would be the easiest, less trimming), or what ever you want, but I doubt that you could find anyone that would buy that, even if it is that dankest stuff ever, just from the look. Also, I would go back to 12/12 so you don't stress the other plants and end up with a complete loss. Oh yeah, and I would never grow that strain again after that(at least from that cut or seed batch).

id have to admit that is the strangest thing i have ever seen... im with toast on this one just let them finish noramly. harvest and the off shoots that are on those just make haah or keep them for personal stock. one things i could think of tho is u or ur friend using a finisher? i have seen then when i used a finisher i would have a last surge of new bud development. nothing that drastic but yet new growth. if not it just might be a freek. if so stay away from that one...

For White widow..Greenhouse suggests changing the lighting to 8 hours during the last 2 weeks of flowering in order to halt regrowth of on the buds and produce just enough stress to coax out the maximum amount of sticky resin per inch.(In there own words.)

This is where freind got the idea from..

this batch was grown before from seed and did not have this problem.

those stringy sativas usually get me blasted, and i like the look of the calyx "necklace"....

if you are feeding her, that may be inducing revegg...i usually starve plants of that shape

To the best of my knowledge this trait is pretty strain dependent, but absolutely can be brought out by EXCESS CO2/NITROGEN DURING FLOWER.

Whatever you do, let those ladies go as long as you can- you still could get decent end product you will just have to cure longer and trim a little closer.

Shooting powder was used and has been used many times with good results.

have not feed them in two weeks except molasses,They are flushed.

Love that necklace comment(making something good out of something bad.)

Cant wait to torch lady's up...:bongsmi:

that has got to be some of the craziest fox-tailing that i've ever seen. i'd guess it has a lot to do with re-vegging the plants, i've always seen some funky growth when that is attempted.

Have you considered light/heat stress? How much Watts are how close to them?
The freshly grown shoot looks pretty bleached to me...maybe the plant got some stress at the very tip of that foxtail and produced such a bud because of that reason....or maybe a combination of light/heat and nute stress.
I dont want to sound insulting in any way but the plants that can be seen in the background speak a clear language to me:heat stress - the two tops that can be seen in the background of the pic with your thumb do show regrowth from heat stress in my eyes...i have seen exactly that when i moved my bulbs to close to the plants
But the foxtails arent bad in any way....the plant looks just stellar for us Blueberry cannaseur´s....the foxtails are pretty surely a genetically thing...maybe post these pics in the Grindhouse forum and ask Steele if he has seen such a plant in his selections.
As i said the foxtails arent a bad thing just a trait that makes some pretty low yielding plants but most often those are the real keepers flavor and highwise.
What is the smell on this plant....theres a special pheno in the B.Sonja called Tang Tang for its tangerine smell and taste, that pheno could carry such traits....im sure Steele Savage can help you out there.

Please do an update with,if possible,a whole plant shoot of the one with the foxtails....greetz GS:wave:

Wow. once you said regrowth on the back plants ,I had a close look and it is regrowth. some pics were taken about 2 weeks ago. it looks like the regular lights were left on and now burnt out.(checked last night in the middle of off cycle and no light leaks).

the foxtail or ropes was already happening. nothing happen new on that except new regrowth. they have always been strange looking.

Not so sure what to do next except for to let them go on and finish, if they will. it cant hurt any more than it has. Thanks a million...

You are welcome a million times:)

I guess the buds where growin in foxtails/ropes since the beginning or very early flowering....if so you can be pretty sure that this is a genetically thing as mentioned and you can be 100% sure that you have a very very special and propably a very rare pheno....if you have a cut of this plant...KEEP IT!! If not try to get some pollen on this plant of whatever you have lyin around if you happen to have some pollen around....if this isnt an option too...try to reveg it.
If this plant does contain smells like Berry,Grapefruit,Tangerine,Grape,Sour Fruity Mint and/or Pine then the hell try to keep it in any way.Im sure Steele Savage - the man behind Grindhouse - will tell you the same. This thread could be very interesting for you: https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=83377

Sorry for my euphoric statement about that plant but im an Blue Strain addict...

Hi Bearklaw
That's the shooting powder.. I quit using it cause it makes new calyxes on top of ripe ones.
That plant just have foxtailing satty buds like that and the powder mixes them up a bit.

I think she smokes good bro :)

edit: I got the same happening with dj F13.. She was a bit sensitive and react like that.

There you go bearklaw... i should have mentioned that i dont have experience with shooting powder.
I also saw that you have aircooled lights, right? So you can forget about the heat stress anyways, just keep light stress in mind from a to intense light(a light wich is to close) this can lead to regrowth and stretched out airy buds too.
But besides the regrowth your plants look quiet tasty....and of course you have a special with that B.Sonja plant....you can prepare for some very fine smoke from that plant.

Have fun with your harvest...best wishes GS:wave:
