My second time vertical !

Hi
If anyone remembers or knows my first time vertical was in this thread
https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=149970

I managed 1ounce of 9lbs in that grow and the plants didnt grow like i thought they would.

This time things seem to be better so far, with the plants having lots of branches at the bottom, so i lowered all the lights about 35cm.

I dont plan to grow it as large but lets see how everything pans out.

Here are some pics so far

Yes, that plant at the back is larger! i got it a lot earlier than the others! Dont know what strain it is, it might be bubblegum

The plant at the back has these colors on the stems. Does anyone know if it looks like stress? or is it just a trait!?

They look, big, strong and full of life goofy, vertical is the way to defo grow.

Is that your grow fully setup? Do you just use 1 side of the bulbs for growing or do you encircle the cooltube with plants? Just asking because I seen your cooltube has a reflector attached, IMVHO 1 of the main benefits of vertical growing is the fact that you don't need to reflect light at your plants, I like the 360o distrubution of light, direct light will always have a better effect on plants and reflectors hold a lot of heat and can create heatspots on your plants canopy.

Whatever way you grow, I'll be hanging around for it.

Good Luck

Hi HGO,
I'm only using one side of the bulb because the room only permits it.
Also, i only turned the lights on one side beause i'm trying to get the front plants to catch up to the one at the back.

I've been only giving them 2 litres each of nutes a day!
Damn, were they way underwatered.
It took me like 10 litres each to get runoff a few days ago!
Anyways because i'm using a pump now, and set the timers they've grown about 1-2 inches a day! .

Here are the photos
They look small in the photos because my lens is a wide angle. Also my ceilings are about 3.5-4 metres high.
With the pots and foam pot stand, they're 165 cm high (5'4)
Also the nodes are VERY close this time compared to last time. Maybe its because its winter and the temperatures are great!

My threads are always slow, wonder if theres much interest at all from my grows. hehe
I know i'm a newbie still.

CLOSE nodes?

I'm trying to keep the middle plant really low and wide like in my first vertical grow.
But this time its a lot harder than i thought.

Plants look super healthy man.

Nice grow really clean.

But you are losing a lot of the perks of a vert grow with the reflectors and not putting the plants around the lights instead of the lights around the plants.

I understand what you guys are saying, but with my equipment and space, this is the most efficient way i can think of doing it with a low plant count.
Didnt water these babies for a full day, and they each took roughly 10 litres to see runoff

5 Days later..
They are a LOT bigger!
These babies are sucking a DAMN LOTTA nutes!!
I'm thinking of blooming them in a few days, so here might be the final veg photos.
So here are a few photos! only 5 days from my previous entry!! yet you can see how much bigger they've gone!!!

FEEDING METHOD
I was feeding them once a day. I turn on the pump once a day at the beginning of lights on to feed them till there's runoff (trying to save water).
Until recently, i additionally watered for another 10 seconds during the middle of the light cycle, just in case. (they were probably getting 1L each from this)

NUTRIENTS
Your usual generic Grow A
Your usual generic Grow B
Aminozym
Cash Crop Cobra beneficial bacteria and fungi (which is quite expensive) more info on this product found here. http://www.cash-crop.com/cobra

Those fungi are actually roots itself which attach to the plants roots making them suck a lot more water than they usually do.

I've been trying the KISS approach. Unfortunately my bloom involves a lot more nutes.

120cm high from dirt to top! the back plant is easily 30cm higher and a lot wider!!

Looking awesome. I don't know how much those girls stretch when you switch them to flower, but if you don't switch them soon, you're going to have a forest in there.hehe

Third week of flower!
Had the camera settings all wrong, so only posting 2 photos! wide angle really makes things look smaller than they are!
Colas are looking very nice and long! just the way i like them!

Should i be plucking a lot of leaves off?

White balance all off, forgot to turn on RAW on my camera
lots of trichomes appearing already
:D

Heres two teasers

Horrible photos previously.
Anyway, pretty much 29 days into flowering.
Here are some better pics.
The Lens cap is a 77mm one from a wide angle.

Each cola is nice and long because the lights reach the sides! with canopy style, i got short stubby colas.

Each plant is about a meter wide, about 2meters high with pots (1.7m without pots)
The back plant which is bubblegum i think has short fat buds, its about 1.5 metres wide by about 2+ metres high!
room is about 3.5 x 4

hey,
I'm feeding till runoff at beginning of lights on.
This is only for my bloom cycle.

I feed about 7-9L each @6pm so there's runoff
Then I water lightly with timer @ 10pm, 12am, 2am, 4am lights are off at 6am.
I try keep tthe coco wet because its pretty much hydro.

In veg , i water once a day @ start of lights on.
I'm hoping to get 10lbs from these

BTW, my pots are 50Litres each which is 13.2 gallons each for you US citizens.

Another update.
Wonder if people are even interested...

This is the back plant which is bubblegum!
I'm expecting 2-3lbs out of this plant.
Its only about halfway flowering but look at the size of these nugs
