First,i did a search, but didn't find any useful info-so i'm wondering if anyone has grown any autoflowering seeds using a 12/12 from seed(of course!)photo period.I have some extra room in my 36"x20"x64"? tent that i'm doing a 12/12 bagseed grow in now, just gonna start some autos in there & see what happens.......BTW,i'm using a 400w Phillips CMH,4" exhaust fan(& 2 circulation fans)& grow in Coco/w 10-30% perlite.i also have a lot of Autoflower seed from a seed run i did awhile back.....Thanx in advance for any replies!:cathug::thank you:

seems like you'd get a lower yield, you can give them 18~24 hours of light a day and they still will keep on flowering, why only give them 12?

they will grow bud, but be smaller than if getting 18 - 20 hours of light
extra doobage is cool

Yeah I've done it after getting too many males from some normal seeds... They do just fine.

use at least 30% perlite in your mix - they like a loose medium to root into

12/12 uses only 2/3 the power of 18/6,less heat also,& keeps plants shorter for better light usage-those are my main reasons! Also less hours of light are SUPPOSED to produce more females from seed.

No, only outdoors and 12/12. I have had some under 18 hours light too indoors but not for the plants entire lifetime. Did not really notice huge differences when starting with 18 hours of light compared to 12, so I would not count on them being shorter. This was with original Lowryder1. Also I'm 100% certain that the plants sex can't be controlled this way.

why dont grow in 24 with both auto and non and then when the autos are done, harvest them and flip your lights to 12/12. They will be very, very small if grown on 12/12. I would grow 12/12 from seed with non autos instead...

the female thing, i don't think i've ever heard that one before

power consumption and heat, gotcha'....also i could see wanting to keep them short

thanks for explaining, was curious man, i wish you well and hope those autos kick ass for you!

Ive seen pretty minimal losses in yield giving autos 12/12...and quite frankly the bluestreak I just harvested that spent all but the first 2 weeks on 12/12 had the densest buds of any I have grown...rock hard and potent, and looks to be right around an ounce, just like all of the others I have grown under 20/4. I will no longer waste the electric with any more than 18 hours on autos...and will prolly go lower if I am not vegging any photo period girls

I have grown some of mossy's AF's 12/12 from seed. They turn out great! Though if you're looking to break the bank you better plant 10 of them:tiphat:

I grow on a 14 hour day flower on 12.
