I do 38 to 40 cuts for a 36 site, 3x3, ebb/flow table. I'm usually on a 100% strike rate and propagate plants for a profession. It isn't rocket science but there can be many variables in cloning.

38 CLONES OUT OF 38 CUTS, ALL HAVE ROOTS

True SOG is 4 female clpnes planted at 4 per sq/ft.

3x3 is 9 sq/ft = 9 x 4 = 36, glad I got that right.

Clones onto flower immediately on 12/12 or max 1 week veg.

Trim lateral growth at 2 weeks, go for single colas.

Lot's of plants required though, damn!

Yeah u need 4 per square foot, and if you want 64 and have doubts about your cloning ability, take about 100 and you should end up with 64 good clones.

Peace

Nice man - I usually have 100% or close in jiffy pellets also but sometimes there are some off batches...
Could you give a little more detailed description of your method?
Intensity of light - cover - spray - rooting powder/gel etc. ?

I use Clonex, very little light, cover, spray, no nutes before I see callus - then sometimes I give them a little shot.

I usually take 25% more than I need and kull the ones that are runts or do not root as quick as the rest. At that point they go into the tray, no veg needed. That is, when I SOG.

Take as many as you can and use the best rooted ones, that would be the safes way to go.

I use twin Sylvania Gro Lux cfl tubes 36W each, 4' long and keep mums under the same set up as well.

Clones are dipped in Clonex. I don't bother taking the final cut under water.

Clones are placed on a tray under a dome and misted once. I leave the dome on for 5 days then remove.

Clones have bottom heat set at 24C or 75F.

After 7 days I feed the clones with a seaweed extract. By this time roots should be developing.

I don't touch, tug or pull the things.

After 14 days all have rooted.

Cheers.

Perfectly detailed description - thanks:) Have you tried with less/more light to see how much of a difference it makes?

Temperature sure makes a lot of difference in how fast they root - I know this from experience.

Also burying a node makes a lot of difference - the node cells are much happier to turn into root cells. A bare stem normally takes longer time to root than a node with leaf and branch/meristem removed. If you don't remove that branch/meristem it will try to grow into some twisted sad thing underground - never seen it affecting rooting but it can't be good I think:)

Many thanks, I've put clones under a 600W HPS at 9 days, not to close though, sort of in the shady areas, fed with seaweed and they go gangbusters.

Were they already somewhat rooted in the jiffys by then? I find that they're able to start absorbing nutes and start growing again already when the stems start swelling - shortly before first roottips form.

I haven't had much luck flowering them before a sizable root system had formed and they had gotten a taste of stronger nutes - then again I always grow in soil. The grail of growing for me is to avoid using a lot of watts for veg - soil provides that because you can veg in a small cup - repot and then flower.

By 9 days most of my clones are in grow mode on a diet of 18/6 light. The swelling in the main stem of the clone is an indication of roots about to develop.

I've grown in soil too, all my mums are in soil, the grow is hydro, just works better for me.

If you don't want to veg, don't, I never do, clone to flower. I only keep clones and mums on 18/6 veg mode.

so for the sog I should flower right away if I plant 4 per square foot?
