The Room of Mystery

What up y'all. It's come time to give you all a gander. it's day 15... yay !!! First off though a little set-up description of the room...

I bought a Secret Jardin and if you don't have one, it's so worth the 300 bucks. It's Self-contained, has every freakin hole you could think of, thick bottom, and the ambient air flow alone with no fans is enough to make the plants jiggle I haven't checked if it's negative in pressure but it'll suck smoke right out. SunLeaves hood (i'm so disappointed their made in china, such an awesome old school company) with a 400w HPS. I will be putting another 400w with a MH in in a week just before veg. Pretty sure i got em backwards but hey... good mess up I'm always takin notes so i know what NOT to do next time, right ??? i will eventually have 3 400w's... again i'll add one just before flower this time. all my soil is from an organic local farm and when it gets time all my nutes are gonna be organic too. all the good stuff i'm runnin is for the completely random seeds i got. i'm not buyin Ferrari's until i know i'm engineering BMW's first.

I'll leave y'all with some pics of the babes... there's some pics with em at like 4 days and some at like 13 days.

and one question, if you notice there's a new addition to the room in the 13 day pics and that happened at like day 10. It's a super lemon haze and it's hella weird... genetics maybe ??? got any ideas? and ideas on how to make it take? It was given to me and the things been goin on like 3 weeks now, all the rest of the same kind are on their sixth node. this guys a little runt plant. it's the last pic

until next time:plant grow:

Wang, good questions...

which secret jardin did you get?

and what are your temps like

whats your ventilation system?

currently i'm in a 5x5 or the dr150. i'm getting another cause i like it so much for my veg that'll be 4x4. i live in a cold climate and i put it outside in the garage. outside ambient temps lately have been in the 40's and upper 30's. for a good warm breeze and those cold nights i have a fan-forced coil heater to give them some love, it has a built in thermostat and it's set to about 75. there's some pretty good flux in temps cause the ambient air flow completely renews the air every 15 minutes or so. so i'd say the temp never gets below 70 it might dip for a minute but then the heater kicks on and it gets to about 80 with the light on during the day. with that much warmth on the inside and it being so cold outside it has it's own negative air pressure so i don't need a ventilation fan. i might consider one for flower to get the smell out but for now it's not needed. just a few reasons why i love these things. you could save a bundle if your thinking of modifying a room. just buy one of these and set it up, your good to go. i haven't checked humidity but i'd like too one of these days.

really i believe in keep it simple stupid, nature's not all that complex, give them the best light and the right food, it's that simple. i'm all for replicating nature. i'm an old school outdoor fool who's done gorilla crops since i was 14 this is my first indoor run. i've always had 6' tall behemoths that gross about 4 or 5 ounces a plant. that's what the sun does. you can seriously, put them outside, water every 4 or 5 days, and harvest em when their ready... that's an outdoor grow. simple as that.

indoor though i get to play god.

has anyone read about BioDynamics ??? a plants relation to the moon and stars and the cycle it will most likely benefit from.

this run i'm going to totally replicate the sun cycles. check it. in early may outside light is about 12/12. if your planting outdoors you put your stuff in the ground. the days get longer, the nights shorter, and on june 21 or round abouts it peaks and starts to go back down. and then in like late august is when 12/12 hits AGAIN. i can't help but think you'd help them so much by easing them into it vs. doin a 4 hour switch on em. not only do they not know how to utilize the light until week 2 but usually they stop growing for a couple days to figure out what the fuck just happened.

let me know what y'all think.

word up, peace out

thanks yo... and yes 400w is way to small. i was definitely gonna get myself a 400w MH for the set-up but first i was gonna build myself a little swivel device for the roof grid that'll allow me to just move the light instead of moving plants every few days. it's taking me i little bit to get the materials and put it together. plus there just in seedling stage still.

Plus about that time i'm really hopin to get some of those airpots, these things are kickin.
http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=86175
in any instance the tent is 7 feet or just short so i was definitely get some 5 gallon pots and i've been studying these grows on this site every chance i get and i realized i already fucked up 2 things. nothing major, and i'm sure it's fine, but i want the best environment possible.

for one i put about 2 inches of hydrotron at the bottom. more soil means more roots. and i was amazed and blown away with the whole capillary action stuff. absolutely wonderful science. https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=164150so i'm doin away with that. if anything get a floor fan and get some airflow in and around the pots... yea ???

and second, i was trying to minimize the shock that comes from transplanting by putting them in there perm pots, but not only did i put that hydrotron at the bottom but i also put them in 3 gallons. again, after some reading on this awesome site, i found out i'm not growin clones. so to 5 gallons they go.

and just for fun i'm thinkin i might MAKE an airpot or 2. what do y'all think about a 5 gallon bucket cut out on 4 sides about the shape of an ice cube tray and then actually glue 4 ice cube trays over the holes. drill some holes in the bottom of the ice cube trays and Bam! got your-self an air-pot. i might just save my time though and try and track down some. but we'll see. i'll keep ya posted.

oh and anybody got any ideas on that runt plant ???
i was bored today. she's not lookin all that hot and with a good dose of fert about a week ago she's not comin around, as a matter of fact it seems to have hurt her even more. so i figured on a warm water flush and got her into a larger pot. good ??? bad ??? let me know.

Hey TC nice set up dude dig that tent. I see you got plenty of room to maneuver.

So what's the nute line up like, what kind of fans you using? I see you're going from seed, not too much TLC, I learned that the hard way with seeds. You may want to adjust your white balance on your camera to get greener pics.

I'll be pullin up a chair for this one. :lurk:
