Wicked Experiment

I did a little experiment a while back and figured I would give it a full go this time. It is a passive wick garden using 2 gal pots and Botanicare coco. There is an 8'x4'x4" reservoir underneath the pots. Its nothing more than 2x4's on edge and pond liner. 2'x4' plywood shelves with 1" holes for wicks to hang through make the lid. For nutrition constant release Osmocote Plus prills (15 9 12+Micros)have been added into the coco fibre at a rate of 1 Tbsp per Gallon of coco which = 2 Tbsp per pot. The reservoir is filled with plain tap water which keeps the coco moist. the water is 200ppm and ph 8. Hopefully it will provide maximum reward for minimum effort.

ahh gotta love the good ol wick method, passive hydro at its best. have you run this type of setup before?

Id reccomend a soil moisture meter to read the actual moisture level in the pots if you haven't done this type b4, just a thought i know it helped me out. it looks promising ill be watching, subscribed:lurk:

i disabled a few ebb and flow buckets and converted them to wicks. Plants on the left side of pic are wick. Seemed to work in a trial run pretty well.
