Confidential contracts detailing *onsanto Co.'s business practices reveal how the world's biggest seed developer is squeezing competitors...

patented genes being inserted into roughly 95 percent of all soybeans and 80 percent of all corn grown in the X.X....

the corn flakes you had for breakfast, soda you drank at lunch and beef stew you ate for dinner likely were produced from crops grown with *onsanto's patented genes...

For example, one contract provision bans independent companies from breeding plants that contain both *onsanto's genes and the genes of any of its competitors, unless *onsanto gives prior written permission...

"We now believe that *onsanto has control over as much as 90 percent of (seed genetics). This level of control is almost unbelievable,"...

One contract provision likely helped Monsanto buy 24 independent seed companies throughout the Farm Belt over the last few years: that corn seed agreement says that...

... if a smaller company changes ownership, its inventory with *onsanto's traits "shall be destroyed immediately."...:chin:...:D....

...includes provisions in all its contracts that allow companies to sell out their inventory if ownership changes, rather than ...force... the firms... to destroy the inventory immediately....

One contract gave an independent seed company deep discounts if the company ensured that *onsanto's products would make up ...

70 percent of its total corn seed inventory.
...

The restrictions even apply to *axpayer-funded researchers....

...a research professor at the University of ...is developing specialized strains of soybeans that grow well in ..., but his current research is tangled up in such restrictions from *onsanto and its competitors.

"I think the co-mingling of their trait technology...

with another company's trait technology...

would likely be a serious problem for them," he said....

...provision requiring companies to destroy seeds containing ...'s traits...
... if a competitor buys them...

or other big firms from bidding against ... when it snapped up two dozen smaller seed companies over the last five years...

"If the independent seed company is losing their license and has to destroy their seeds, they're not going to have anything, in effect, to sell,"

"It requires them to destroy things - destroy things they paid for - if they go competitive...
That's exactly the kind of restriction on competitive choice that the antitrust laws outlaw."
:D...

Anti trust laws only apply when you don't have a team of lawyers to lobby lawmakers with campaign contributions.

perhaps the next big black market will be the non gentically altered and patented genes

I heard about this. Fucking scary shit, its starting to seem like it really is all beyond our control now. The system is rigged...Brave New World, except the control mechanism isn't a drug, its TELEVISION, and other marketing tools.

Fuck sakes, This is why my name is genetic heirloom. fuckers!. looks like i'm going to be buying a literal fuck ton of heirloom seeds this spring. THANK GOD I've had my heirloom corn and soybeans for awhile and haven't used stock that was outside...

thank you for this article !! thank you!

I'll have to buy some Monsanto stock. I thought big tobacco was a money printing machine. I mean what could be better than selling an addictive drug that's legal? Now I know... creating a food monopoly.

I remember a story about this company ages ago, they were using a fertilizer to make grass grow quicker to feed dairy cows to make them produce more milk.

Kids started getting sick and when news networks started to report of the sicknesses, the company quickly reminded them of the millions of dollars they pump into thier bank accounts through advertising, and the stories were buried.

So much for independant media looking after public (human) interests.

We're no longer human, were consumers and the moment we stop consuming, we're expendable.

Oh the humanity...

I get Monsanto ads on the AM dial. They're pushing an MK line. The Master Kush of Corn I think. Sorry, not a product I buy so it's not a hard issue for me.

I know what you're implying by posting it here. I don't expect Monsanto will branch out into medical marijuana. There would be much BS with people making claims of improper genetic engineering between the two. They will take buzzwords though.

they already are in the biz...
C*nn*bis seeds from *onsanto are almost definitely genetically engineered. Genetically engineered plants can be patented, and it is in *onsanto’s best interest to hold a patent on any seed they sell. Seed patents ensure that companies like *onsanto can continue to profit from seeds from year to year, as farmers are legally bound to buy patented seeds from the patent holder rather than simply store them from the last year’s crop.

Interestingly, low-potency p.t of the kind produced by *onsanto seeds at the University of *ississippi is exactly the kind of product the *inistry of *ealth is asking for from contractors. The guidelines ask specifically for “standardized *arijuana cigarettes with *HC content of between 4% and 6% and weighing [about] 850 mg.”
"Scheduled labs around the country which are already growing *arijuana are using seeds from the *niversity of *issi**ippi," reported the official. "The genetics come from *onsanto."
In order to create sterile plants for medical *arijuana and government santioned experiments, *onsanto was recruited to use their ‘grandfather’ gene process – that creates fertile plants with infertile children – so that plants could be created without fertile seeds being distributed.
*erminator seeds are genetically engineered to produce a plant that will not produce viable seed, meaning that growers would be forced to go back to *onsanto each year to buy more seed stock to replant. *overnments and public alike became wary of the concept when it was discovered that the terminator seed could possibly cross the species barrier, possibly spreading infertility among the plant kingdom like a disease.
