Kronikz tent of goodies!

Good morning ladies and gentlemen I trust everybodies having a great day.
Take a seat on the couch and let's get this buckey doing the rounds!

Alright well for you today I have a 4x4 tent (well two actually but we're only using one til the plants are big enough to fill both) with 13 Afghani Gold's in soil and 6 of the small pathetic looking ones in a DWC trial (first crack at hydro not holding out any hopes).

They are under a 400 watt HPS in a cooltube which has been attached to an extra large adjusta wings. I'm barely running the cooltube at the moment as its cold as shit in there however its on a thermostat set to 30 degrees. I have a Harvest Master Co2 Easi in there however Im not using Co2 and its tecnically just a smart thermostat (set to 26 degrees during lights on and 21 during lights off) which controlls a 150 mm Can Fan.

The plants are around 3 weeks old and are between 8 to 10" tall the ones in hydro are alot smaller I think they got shocked when I transplanted from soil to hydro. I'm using a local nutrient called Mr grow and Mr boom which I've had outstanding results with befor (14 Oz's off my 400). I shall use a few additives during flowering but we'll discuss that when we come to it.

So without further adue heres some pics...

Those are my soil girls doing absolutely stunningly!!!

Heres a couple of my hydro (not so proud of these so only a couple of pics)

And a couple of the room. (I really love my shades but they were really expensive by the time I bought cooltubes and adjustawings)

The box in the back is a dehumidifyer which although my humidity is very low (25%) Im using it to try and warm the room. After taking these pictures I also put a small heater in there as Im finding it's getting as low as 18 degrees cedlcius in there at nights even with the lights on.

Hey people.
Well I've added a heater in there as we're having a VERY cold winter here in NZ. I've turned the cooltube on so it's constantly running. The lights are on 24 hours it reaches 20 degrees celcius at night and gets up to 28 degrees during the day, not ideal but better than it was. Just befor I added the heater it got down to 14 degrees celcius in there one night so all the new growth started yellowing but it's coming through green now with the heater so I'm stoked about that. Humidity sits at around 25%. I've turned my oscilating fan off as I think it may be causing wind burn on some of the plants. Anyway here's some pics. I take them out and put them in the bath for photo's to avoid HPS glare. There's only 8 in the photo's however theres still the full 19 in there (13 soil 6 hydro)

Hey man

Hey man

Hey Kronikal, I like the setup.

I'm baked, that statement sounds so obligatory sometimes.

But seriously. Making good use of the space. I see what you're saying about the transplant to hydro - but I think they'll take. The ones on in the soil look great and healthy, regardless. I'm hoping that stunted green growth will sort out with the temperatures, but it sounds like you fixed the problem.

Anyway, I'll be tuned in for the potential.

By the way, you're planning on keeping the ones currently in soil, in soil through flower, no?
I think they'd do darn well like that.

Keep it up mate.

definately gonna keep them in soil. Im hopeing to grow some big arse tree's in there. Aiming for 6 soil plants per tent in 12 gallon pots. Probly gonna veg till the end of August then switch them. I've got another tent exactly the same with a 600 in there so yeah 6 plants per tent and aiming for 2 oz's plus per plant.

looking good bro.i think you should get more than 2 ozs per plant.tip em and lst the branches and your away.
hopefully worst of the winter is over.:joint:

Hey people.
Wicked to have you here. Swampy...Im actually growing in the same soil as you (Max Yield) I find it slightly better than the Gro that hydro shops over here sell. Don't know about any more than two Oz's per plant I seem to have maxed out at around 1.5 Oz's I always get an O easy but anything over that seems to be an uphill battle no matter how long I veg for. Anyway wer shall see. They are in PB5's at the moment (2.8 litre) but in a couple of weeks I will bag them into PB18's (10 litres). I find I don't need to much room for roots as my roots always seem to grow quite slowly (might be something to do with the gnats I've started useing nilnat now). I Use something called AU60 root repair or Rhizotonic but the roots still dont seem to grow overly quick. If they look to be outgrowing the PB18's (highly unlikely) by the end of August I will transplant but Im concidering just flowering them in those bags.

As for the hydro It's not DIY although it wouldnt be hard to make. Its nowhere near a gallon jug its infact 20 litres (about 5 gallons I think) It's got a water heater and Airpump and a litle pump that pumps nutrient through the net pots (which are filled with perlite) Im not holding out much hope for the hydro it's more of an experiment than anything. The plants still look arse from their transplant from soil into hydro, poor girls) however I've seens a root or two growing out of the pods now!

Anyway people I'll updats with pics in a day or two. I will no doubt top tonight when the lights come on.

Hey guys.
Well I've decided against topping for now. I think I might just have a crack at growing some big arse buds. Alot of my plants were showing yellowing of the new growth recently so I made sure to try and up my temps a bit during the night. I also worked out that with the cool tubes even with lights on it was getting pretty cold. So I've gona back to an old school conventional shade with a heater in there for the lights out time and I've drastically evend out my temps (26-28celcius lights on 22-24 lights off) and the plants are looking awesom. All the new growth is coming through green and gorgeous!!

Heres a pic of the hydro which is just starting to come right. They were in a bit of shock from the transplant from soil and the cold temps but they're starting to grow good roots out of the nets now.

Heres some of the tent with all the soil plants

And heres some of a couple of the plants I pulled out so you could get a decent look without the HPS glare

And just a couple of single plants. Im really proud of how they are all starting to look. They're getting big now (14-15inches)

If you look closely you can see what Im talking the old leaves still have signs of the yellowing.
Anyway thanks for checking out my thread everyone get ready for some big arse buds soon as I might flower in a couple of weeks (they'll be monsters by then)

Hey there bro.
Im in New Zealand here so yeah it's winter for another month yet. Im in a warmer part of NZ but it's still cold as shit we get like 12 degree celcius nights and 18 degree celcius days so could be worse!
Yeah plants seem to be coming right aye. They're growing really quickly now!

Howzit Kronikal,

Just found your thread bro good to see another NZ'er posting up on IC.

Your plants are looking sweet dude, nice tidy set up too! I had a similar problem as you with the leaf yellowing, i seemed to be able to fix mine by giving them some epsom salts... Could definately just be different problems as yours are sweet after adjusting temps?

I could have a guess where abouts in NZ you are with those temps haha but I'll leave it.

Keep it up bro

peace keke

Plants are looking great man. I don't see any more yellowing on the new growth, but I only could see the tops of a few... definitely big improvement over the last week. Also, great looking stems on most of those, nice 'n thick.

Hoping warmer weather is coming to you soon, I'll try to send some from my hemisphere - it's been over 100 degrees this past week ;p.

Peace :joint:

Hey people.
Cheers everyone for your comments. Plants are looking great. Nice and dark green! Hydro's starting to take off. Root's have reached the water now.

Anyway here's some pics...
This is my bitch. She's one of the best guard dogs I've ever owned!

Group shot.

Canopy Shot. It's getting full in there now. Planning on repotting them this week then Im gonna switch a week later.

My hydro. These are starting to look good. I was thinking of building more units using those black bottles. Possibly 2 per bottle and set them up as a RDWC.

And here's some individual shots of some of the girls I pulled out.

It's awesom to see so many Kiwi's over here. We need to fight people we have the highest arrest rate in the WORLD!!! This law is unjust! We hurt nobody but ourselves. Free Dakta Grower!!!
