Hi everyone, This is a feminized G13 Gigabud, or it should be. I started getting some small brown spots on one of the leaves on 19/06/09. I figured some drops of water were left on and caused a burn but things aren't going well since.

The spots seem to be expanding and the new growth is drooping, brittle and twisted with very red stems and some yellowing of the leaf tips has started.

She did start life under fairly high temps, in the 36*C/ 97*F range while I was dialing in the PC case, then went to lower temps when my shit got together.

Is it the Miracle-Gro or have I heat-stressed her too much?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I forgot to mention, my last watering was with a teaspoon of garden lime with the 1/4 teaspoon of MG, and a light spray of the affected leaves, if that helps.

What is your pH? If you've got that dialed in, it's probably time to start giving them some decent flowering or general purpose nutrients.

EDIT: Oops! Missed the part where it says you're feeding MG, etc. Check your pH, flush, start fresh with light nutes slowly building up until you just start to get burnt tips, then back off and level it out. Feed every other watering...or even every 3rd watering.

I'm no expert but I reckon lay off the feeding as you are burning with too much nutes!

Your soil mix is pretty "hot" with all this in it already... " Rich-Gro potting soil 30%, chicken manure 5%, perlite 30%, soil-wetta (kelp enriched vermiculite) 5%, vegie patch soil 20%, blood and bone meal 5%, Garden lime 5%"

What kind of chicken manure because if it's un-cooked can cause probs.....

I would flush with plain water for the next few days and not feed them until growth looks good again.

But I may be way of base!!!!!

Don't feed em miracle gro man! Also you say 22days since transplant, they look like they could use one. 80 is not too hot at all, 97 is but that shouldn't be causing problems now. Are you trying to grow organic? The MG probably kills some beneficials in the EWC and you already have a strong enough mix to feed em. best of luck!

Not way off base. Just a little bit. ;)

Flushing a full grown plant with plain water, if you flush well, will leave you with a plant that will begin to get worse now because it has no nutrients and thus will be developing all sorts of deficiencies as you sit there waiting for it to get better.

:yeahthats

Also, I agree with master shake that you're probably going to run into problems trying to mix organic with regular MG. The miracle grow brand will work, but I'd find something better. Sounds like you had the right idea in the beginning when you started mixing together your organic amendments...throw MG on top of that and no wonder things aren't going well.

Thanks for the replies,

I was using a pH wand, the kind you stick the end in the soil to measure and it would waver between 6.9 and 7. I just went and bought a pH tester for aquariums to measure the water and got a reading of 6.6 and the water from the filter is 6.4.

I gave her a good flush, 2 litres of water for the 1 litre pot with plenty of runoff so I'll wait untill she starts to pick up again and then restart with the EWC and have a look around for some other fert or maybe try brewing tea. Do I need to flush again untill it shows improvement or is one flush enough to rid the soil of the MG?

I wanted to go organic as much as possible but some had said good things about MG and some said no. I think for the GB I'll say no but my white skunks love the stuff.

Thank you again to TheMintMan, mastershake, OrganicMeds and cracker420 for your input and advice. I will smoke one of her buds in your honor:joint: (if she makes it:laughing: LOL)

I started with MG and switched to FF organic mid-grow before no problems. I would definitely say lower your water's PH try to get the soil down another .5 to 6.5 PH, def. flush her with plain water. I would be more concerned about flushing out the salts then going a few days with no nutrients. In fact I would almost wish for a tip yellowing to confirm the flush was working.
