Hello all,
Right as of today noticed a foisty kinda smell in my floor room.
I in 11L wilma pots usin coco and hydroton and top feeding but runnin it through to flush when i feed, then let it almost dry out and do same again, not done this whole grow though cos dint know no better before, been doin it maybee 2 weeks.

Slid my hand down side between coco and pot and when smelt it it smelt kinda foisty but no different than youd expect if you dug down a bit into say some soil.

Pulled the in-tact pack of coco and roots out of pot to check but roots seem fine, still white, LOADS of em and could not see no mould spores or anything alarming so put it back in pot.

Anyone got a clue what the smell could be or what causing it? or what measure i should be taking now?

Plants still look alright but there deffinatly a dodgy smell in there.

Ps my run off goes in bath in not sat around in room or nothin oh and i around 4 weeks into flour wiv some powerplant.:joint:

Having bacteria and fungi in your system is normal and they actually help to break down your nutes so that the plants can use them.

As long as the plants and especially the roots look healthy, and it doesn't smell like rotten eggs or rotten plant matter, you should be ok.

Cheers fella, feel little more confident about the matter today, plants still fine and smell not as bad today, i'm wondering if maybe i got some mould in the room my grow area is in.

Rotten eggs? certainly dont smell like that, what would cause that?
Cheers for the input

Some bacteria (anaerobic) can produce sulfur compounds that smell like farts or rotten eggs. Those bacteria like an oxygen-poor environment, which means that they are a sign that something's wrong with your setup.
