Amazing how long step reading and watching this thread! I think for the tenth aniversary of Icmag, the most killer thread, is this ...
Many pics, many info and the contribute of big growers/breader!

So after 36 hours the second strain has germinated.

I think I figured out what happened

I cleaned the Hydro Halo rings by soaking them in a mixture of Dr Bonner's pure soap + Arm & Hammer Washing Powder AND ~ 10% h2O2

Although I rinsed them, apparently not enough, which would account for the bubbles, and even though the rez pH was fine (6.0), the roots got soaked with the combined residue.

I did notice the roots exiting the bottom of the Air Pots had been bleached

So the moral of the story, thoroughly rinse your HH rings

Hopefully, the footies over the pumps will prevent algae build up inside them

I decided and I cut Purple Rain, at day 75
Trimming unfunny but easy and fast, a few leaves and buds hard as stone and very eavy. To say well the phenotype, aspect of smoking it B-)

Here's a blast from the past for any of you who remember Mullum Madman's grows from Overgrow. 12 pound Mullumbimby Madness circa 2003. This MM was a different line from Kangativa's MM, and different again from 20'Thai's Old mother sativa, and was said to be a polyhybrid containing Thai, Colombian, Mexican, Hawaiian, New Guinean, Indian and Lebanese genetics...

Afropip's Malawi Gold preserved by billyblog, as documented in his excellent thread:https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=235967
This is first green stem pheno I've found out of three. Here's the description of the parents he used:
Put this male to the smoke test and he ended up smoking around twice the potency of any of the female crew as we sampled tips from across the collection. And of course I was at liberty to choose my most primo female for the job, an inky dark purple stemmed girl to compliment my breeding to this outstanding male.

All in all, Afropips Malawi Gold survives to see a new future and while I sweated over producing new beans, I'm titillated that it worked out so well and it was surely worth all the effort!
I look forward to getting those comments streaming in once again, when folk respond to this exotic smoke with, "WTF, I'm sooo high."

Is a purple stem on a healthy plant a common genetic trait with Malawi? This would be a very helpful tidbit of info for me trying to pick out Malawi expressions from a seed run with 2 fathers from different strains.

Greetings,

Here is a Malawi Gold (mostly) bud in the oven right now. It has some reddish streaking in the stems. It also has some Zamal and Meao Thai in it:

Thanks for the help you guys. This individual was easy to identify as malawi offspring because of the smell, but others that I have grown from this seed batch have been more difficult to peg. The purple stem is a common expression in this population, so thats helpful.

This photo shows the purple stem near the date, most of the rest thats not pictured is purple or streaked with deep purple

Bear_Riot,

I'm guessing you've got a bit longer than three weeks. I started some Oldtimer's indoors from clone and then finished them outdoors a few years back. They went over 20 weeks for me. Based on the look of this plant, I'd say yours will too. Boy was it worth it, though.

Hey guys, some seeds of the fourth strain, are germinated (Neville's Haze).
The others are throwing out the second stage of leaves.

I found a pink male to pollinate this phenotype of LD. the picture was the beginning of the eleventh week by the switch. I think that the cut will be about 85 days. with the phenotype of the male, I hope to go down a little bit ...
