I was always confused about quality of high and stuff. Isnt thc still thc and all the other cannaboids still the same? All that changes is the ratio in which they are present?

Not sure about which pheno we share or do not, but this budshot with the chair looks a little like yours....

IMO, TB's quality of high is boring, regardless of how little or how much I consume, or in which method. Bong, joint, etc. I do love the flavour, and color, however.... The variety of Blueberry at the Noon coffeeshop is almost always much, much stronger, and danker. It is the greener version (Dutch Flowers, the Original DJ's BB..?).

TBB IS anxiety reducing, the flavour alone acts as aromatherapy. There is a dankness that is not fruity, at all, in the mix, so amazing that way.... I can understand the love of this plant, it is easy on the throat, which is a welcome rarity in these days of expanding Diesels and Kushes. I simply have to be choosy of what I run, and some things, well, you just gotta keep 'em. You'd all understand...

The Cheese is superior in all aspects, for one. Some of the DNA strains as well, for flavour AND stone. Even though they get a bad rap, science is science. Awards are won for a reason, which also would apply to DJ... Everyone loves his work..

I am actually thinking that DJ's TBB genetics are overrated, from a big picture perspective... I know that is heresy. Sorry. In a room where heavy hitters emerged, the TBB was lackluster. There was a propensity to attract mites, and the plant was very susceptable to heat reactivity.... In the Greenhouse enviornment, TBB was at its' best.... But IMHO, mutants are nothing to cheer, and I found the potency to be the same. Although they were cute.

Okay surfer, maybe you did have the same pheno, that new picture looks very similar to mine, although the calyxes look somewhat smaller. I can see where you might say that the high is mild compared to some of the other heavy hitters around. That's why I'm growing more than one strain. This one is definitely more of a micro-brew, but I still think there's a possibility to increase yields with it.

Commercial strain this TBB is NOT. Like Yoda talk I do. The pure exotic nature of this plant makes it a repeater, for now.

joeshmoe - Thanks for the nice comments. Don Q posted one of my pics from here on POTM, but since then I think I've taken some better shots. Maybe next time...

surfer - Just so that you know which picture I was talking about, this is the one that shares my phenos:

I'm still thinking that this plant is the dank tasting one that you were talking about. I keep on hoping that the BB taste will mature in the cure, but it's not looking that way. Extremely pleasant taste, but not really like BB at all. Maybe a tinge of fruityness in that last bit of exhale, in the far back of the mouth, but extremely subtle. Also, it's looking like these things lose their odor in the cure. There's a slight odor of dank/musty/earthy, but only undertones. Just so that you know, I didn't use any heat in the drying process.

Well, if I decide to grow this again, it won't be because of the taste or yield, it will be because of the high. I'm a little dissapointed in that I was hoping for a smoke that screamed BB. I guess it's better than ending up with a plant that's exactly like one of my others... :)

To an extent. There are also different arrangements of THC, like THC delta 9 which is supposed to be more psychedelic than the more common arrangements of the THC molecule.

Huh? Who's Don Q? Thought Joeshmoe posted your pics?

Throwgar...your pic taking skills are getting better bro...much better. I remember DJ offering Blue Heaven some years back that was supposed to be anti-anxiety. That one always caught my interest...maybe it was Blue Velvet...anyway, wish I bought some beans and put them in storage.

Live and learn...I wonder what great stuff that's out there now will disappear in a blink of an eye...like BOG's genetics. DJ has worked with SOL for some new releases and maybe that's the place to look?

Oh, that must be the Don Q that ended up being a figment of my overactive imagination. To tell you the truth, the reason that my pictures have gotten better is because of this site. There are a LOT of people here who know their shit.

Blue Heaven was the one. There are always some people posting that they wish he would re-release it. From what I've heard, it has to be one of the most chill smokes on the planet. :joint:

throwgar- came back for more and im sure glad i did!! great shots. ive grown a few plants out from dj-his blueberry, which was a weak yielder and all phenos we got were mutants-very weak looking-but the final product was outstanding as far as quality. the best results i have seen from his genetics have been crosses with other strains-many fantastic hybrids. i have grown BCSC nl5 x blueberry <was told they used dj's blue> and it was badass. i think redux mentioned SOL, have thier blubonic and it is outstanding.
If your mutants smoke as nice as they look im sure she will be a keeper. great job.....sub

hey subrob, I had a bad female to male ratio with the TBBs at 3 and 7, and all 3 of the females were mutants. Two of the 3 were not desireable, so it made my choice easy. Did you just do a from seed run, or did you keep clones? I was just asking to see if your mutation had faded.

I have some TBB pollen left over... I think I'll try a cross with the Fucking Incredible x Super Skunk that I have going. I think that they would complement each other.

I just smoked some, and the shelf life is unreal, as described by DJ.... It needs to be kept in glass, for maximum enjoyment, down the road... I recommend the use of Nitrozyme, and Sweet, and Carbo Load, brings out the flavour of the Blueberry which is very present in my favourite pheno, along with the pleasurable unique dankness I describe as well.

I do like to mix it with Hash, as the buzz of the TBB is not really that potent in a cornucopia of killer strains. ( Orig OG cut, Recon, Cheese - afghani pheno, KK's Strawberry Cough, S Deez, GDaddyPurple, and some new beans, to be flowered and chosen from, from DNA, and TH Seeds.. ) For me, the flavour is the best part, of Tbb, but I am not growing it anymore, because it really only almost super-performed in the greenhouse. I bet in a very cool room, indoors, it would do great.

throwgar-all three of the runs with any of dj's genetics were one run only. had a alaskan blueberry some years back that was hands down the best strain i ever had. since losing it, have spent years trying to replace it and never come close. have also grown other dj blue crosses, but keep going trying to find a blue plant that can compare. with the blueberry, we quit it because it was far and away the worst yield of anything i ever worked with, did not even look good, and we both had moving dates to contend with. however, after curing for a couple months, i have to say it was outstanding in quality. the SOL blubonic will be making another appearence sometime soon, its been the closest since....sub

That looks real good! Beautiful Blueberry. Mutants can be caused by damage to the root, and BB have some sensitive roots, and seeds. The method of sprouting them in vermiculite-in-organic jiffys so you can transplant without disturbing roots and stressing the plant, is working to reduce bb-mutants.
