Budnut fancy artwork and the musings of a genius or two, just don't add up to some existencial change in humanity. The third world war has already started in the middle east?Do you know how close this world came to non-existence in 1968-69?It's talk of third world wars and the like that could actually bring this planet to an untimely demise. We're not even close today like we were before.Nice graphics though makes me think of windowpane

Hi Floridian! Yes, I agree with everything you say. I'm only attempting to have a little fun, entertain, inform and explain, according to my admittedly limited understanding, the most comprehensive "reality-paradigm" theory I have discovered so far. I just want to know how everything works and why things are the way they are. However, I do believe that the information that I have rounded-up and posted on this thread is too challenging, revolutionary, incendiary, paradigm-shattering and self-image-threatening to be readily accepted by modern educated, sophisticated and erudite individuals. So instead of me trying to defend the YOUniverse theory, I am content to let it stand on it's own merits. <grin> but I confess to enjoying my guilty pleasure of "stirring the philosophical pot." Actually, is it unreasonable to view cannabis as a means to an end, and not an end in and of itself? In that context, cannabis could be the "gateway" drug leading to the YOUniverse stargate. Isn't that inevitable?

"It has been said that this necessary process of spiritual growth may trigger a degree of perplexity on various levels, and the reader may wish to bear in mind that bewilderment is often a natural symptom of inner purification. A very wise man once averred that: ". . . the truth shall set you free." However, challenge and struggle will always arise preceding greater spiritual freedom; such is a basic fact of life." - Servers of the Divine Plan

6 Spiritual Truths That Scientists are Finally Starting to Understand - Posted by M M | Jun 19, 2017 -

1. We are spiritual beings on a human journey

“We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience” – Pierre Teilhard de Chardin

We may inhabit a physical body, but that is not all we truly are. We are consciousness energy.

An energetic consciousness made manifest in physical form. Anyone that has studied OBE’s or Astral Projection knows full well that life is not what it seems.

There is so much more that is buried beneath the level of our consciousness that we struggle to explain because we don’t have a full scientific understanding of it yet, nor do we have an easy way to access it at will. (Intuition, deja vu, ESP, etc)

But, that doesn’t mean those things aren’t real.

Like any skill or physical ability, you just have to do some research and put what you’ve learned into practice to develop them.

2. Our souls never die – we just change our focus

“Energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only be changed from one form to another.” – Albert Einstein

Thanks to Quantum theory, Scientists are slowly catching up to the idea that we cannot truly die.

Energy cannot be created and it cannot be destroyed. It can only change from one form to another.

Death (excluding spectacular deaths) isn’t instantaneous.

In fact, even in medical science it’s become more and more difficult to define when people are dead. People ‘come back from the dead’ all the time.

There are even people who come back from the dead with knowledge, new languages and memories that they never had before the experience.

3. Everything is energy vibrating at a certain frequency

“If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.” – Nikola Tesla

95% of the universe’s mass, Dark Matter, is currently invisible to our senses and internal instruments.

These are vibrational frequencies, just like everything else that you are capable of perceiving with your senses.

You are capable of translating these frequencies to an understandable form as well.

The first step is to know and accept that all mass is nothing but a vibration; nuclei with electrons orbiting around them at a rate of speed creating centripetal force.

There is no such thing as solid matter. It’s just that some matter has a stronger centripetal force than others.

4. Our thoughts create our reality

“A man is but the product of his thoughts – what he thinks, he becomes.” – Mahatma Gandhi

This basically boils down to The Law of Attraction. Thought power is the key to creating your reality.

Everything you perceive in the physical world has its origin in the invisible, inner world of your thoughts and beliefs.

To become the master of your destiny, you must learn how to control the nature of your dominant, habitual thoughts – such as controlling your worries and negativity.

Worrying is simply wasting time and energy manifesting things you don’t want. By controlling your thoughts, you will be able to attract the things in life you actually want.

5. Time is an illusion

"Time is an illusion." – Albert Einstein

Einstein’s belief in an undivided solid reality was clear to him, so much so that he completely rejected the separation we experience as the moment of now.

He believed there is no true division between past and future, there is rather a single existence.

His most descriptive testimony to this faith came when his lifelong friend Besso died.

Einstein wrote a letter to Besso’s family, saying that although Besso had preceded him in death it was of no consequence, “…for us physicists believe the separation between past, present, and future is only an illusion, albeit a convincing one.”

6. Ascension does not involve going anywhere

Ascension is not about leaving the planet, getting rescued by off-world ETs or flying up into heaven.

It is not about watching The Shift unfold online, or waiting for the external world to provide evidence of inner change.

Ascension is a conscious choice to engage in evolution. Ascension is a state of being. A focus of awareness and consciousness into a higher vibrational frequency.

It is what we were created for! To “go forth and experience”, and return the experiences back to Source in an infinite loop of co-creation and mastery.

As an added bonus, here is an Episode of Spirit Science that explains Ascension much more in depth:

OMEGA POINT

The Omega Point is a spiritual belief and a scientific speculation that everything in the universe is fated to spiral towards a final point of "divine" unification.[1] The term was coined by the French Jesuit Catholic priest Pierre Teilhard de Chardin (1881–1955).[2] Teilhard argued that the Omega Point resembles the Christian Logos, namely Christ, who draws all things into himself, who in the words of the Nicene Creed, is "God from God," "Light from Light," "True God from true God," and "through him all things were made." In the Book of Revelation, Christ describes himself thrice as "the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end." The idea of the Omega Point is developed in later writings, such as those of John David Garcia (1971), Paolo Soleri (1981), Frank Tipler (1994), and David Deutsch (1997).[

Tipler

Main article: Frank J. Tipler § The Omega Point cosmology

Frank Tipler generalizes[6] Teilhard's term Omega Point to describe what he maintains is the ultimate fate of the universe required by the laws of physics: roughly, Tipler argues that quantum mechanics is inconsistent unless the future of every point in spacetime contains an intelligent observer to collapse the wavefunction, and that the only way for this to happen is if the Universe is closed (that is, it will collapse to a single point) and yet contains observers with a "God-like" ability to perform an unbounded series of observations in finite time. However, scientists such as Lawrence Krauss have stated that Tipler's reasoning is erroneous on multiple levels, possibly to the point of being nonsensical pseudoscience.[7][8][9] Tipler (1994) has summarized his hypothesis as follows:

  • The universe has finite spatial size and the topology of a three-sphere;
  • There are no event horizons, implying the future c-boundary is a point, called the Omega Point;
  • Sentient life must eventually engulf the entire universe and control it;
  • The amount of information processed between now and the Omega Point is infinite;
  • The amount of information stored in the universe asymptotically goes to infinity as the Omega Point is approached.[10]
Deutsch

In the final chapter of his 1997 book "The Fabric of Reality" physicist David Deutsch considers the Tiplerian Omega Point. Though he criticizes Tipler for making exaggerated physical claims concerning his Omega Point theory, Deutsch stipulates a contracting universe that includes universal quantum computers could prolong the usefulness of the universe given the inevitability of an Omega Point collapse.

Technological singularity

The technological singularity is the hypothetical advent of artificial general intelligence theoretically capable of recursive self-improvement, resulting in a runaway effect to an intelligence explosion.[11] Eric Steinhart, a proponent of "Christian transhumanism", argues there is significant overlap of ideas between the secular singularity and Teilhard's religious Omega Point.[3] Steinhart quotes Ray Kurzweil, one of the most prominent singulatarians, who stated that "evolution moves inexorably toward our conception of God, albeit never reaching this ideal."[3][12] Like Kurzweil, Teilhard predicts a period of rapid technological change that results in a merger of humanity and technology. He believes that this marks the birth of the noosphere and the emergence of the "spirit of the Earth," but the Teilhardian Singularity comes later. Unlike Kurzweil, Teilhard's singularity is marked by the evolution of human intelligence reaching a critical point in which humans ascend from "transhuman" to "posthuman." He identifies this with the Christian parousia.[3]

Reach for the Stars!
It is possible to believe that all the past is but the beginning of a beginning,
and that all that is and has been is but the twilight of the dawn.

I recall Teilhard de Chardin's startling metaphor stating that the universe is one gigantic Conscious Being, Who, by means of quantum chemistry, [conducted on an unimaginably stupendous scale], has evolved It's ultimate creation - myriad sentient beings such as mankind! Preposterous, you say? Well, perhaps not so ludicrous after all in light of recent scientific revelations coupled with metaphysical interpretations? Modern astrophysics has shown how the elements of our bodies were forged deep within the fiery hearts of stars, which, each in turn, lived out their starry lives of conception/infancy/maturity/senility/death, then exploded, whence their widely dispersed gasses gradually condensed back into new stars, and this laborious process was repeated many thousands of times! Additionally, if all the "starstuff" material from which human bodies are fabricated, is already conscious, it is logical that a human being's physical and mental constitution is also similarly conscious in nature. Therefore we are all [potential] heirs to "cosmic consciousness." We are the universe's sentient organs of perception, inextricably interwoven into the fabric of the universe itself. Accordingly, the SOLE purpose for the awesomely vast starry vault is the creation of sentient beings like you and me! That concept posits that the entire universe is a dynamic laboratory that, over vast ages, has been relentlessly and purposively refining and distilling itself into countless evolving sentient beings such as humanity, one of the brilliant species of gems embedded within It's diamond-encrusted Crown of Creation! Finally, the audacious "YOUniverse" concept provides the final denouement of the answer to everything, solving at last the mystery of the ages [UNUS MUNDUS} by identifying It's crucial and mysterious "relentless inconceivable purpose" missing-piece of the puzzle of human evolution.

The Dream Before the Awakening

“We look back through countless millions of years and see the great will to live struggling out of the intertidal slime, struggling from shape to shape and from power to power, crawling and then walking confidently upon the land, struggling generation after generation to master the air, creeping down the darkness of the deep; we see it turn upon itself in rage and hunger and reshape itself anew, we watch it draw nearer and more akin to us, expanding, elaborating itself, pursuing its relentless inconceivable purpose, until at last it reaches us and its being beats through our brains and arteries...It is possible to believe that all the past is but the beginning of a beginning, and that all that is and has been is but the twilight of the dawn. It is possible to believe that all that the human mind has accomplished is but the dream before the awakening; out of our lineage, minds will spring that will reach back to us in our littleness to know us better than we know ourselves. A day will come, one day in the unending succession of days, when beings, beings who are now latent in our thoughts and hidden in our loins, shall stand upon this earth as one stands upon a footstool, and shall laugh and reach out their hands amidst the stars.” - H.G. You Are The Universe - Brand New Heavies

Lyrics::

You're the future, and you've come for what is yours
The hidden treasure, locked behind the hidden doors
And the promise of a day that's shiny new
Only a dreamer, could afford this point of view
But you're a driver, not a passenger in life
And if you're ready, you won't have to try 'cause

You are the Universe
And there ain't nothin' you can't do
If you conceive it, you can achieve it
That's why, I believe in you, yes I do

You're a winner, so do what you came here for
The secret weapon, isn't secret anymore
You're a driver, never passenger in life
And when you're ready, you won't have to try 'cause

You are the Universe
And there ain't nothin' you can't do
If you conceive it, you can achieve it
That's why, I believe in you, yes I do

You are the Universe
And there ain't nothin' you can't be
If you conceive it, you can achieve it
That's why, I believe in you, and I believe in me

(Yes I do
Believe in you
I do)

You're a driver, not a passenger in life
And when you're ready, you won't have to try 'cause

You are the Universe...

In this Thirteenth Floor Elevators documentary, roadie Sandy Lockett talks about Tommy Hall, lyricist for the Elevators. Starting at 9:03, he talks about Tommy's idea that drugs alter the world, not just the people taking them. Pretty cool little documentary all the way through if you're a fan of the Elevators. And if you get high, you should be a fan.

The universe wants to become more conscious, and the main life purpose for all human beings is
to come into alignment with that universal purpose.

Humanity Is On The Cusp Of An Evolutionary Leap

Eckhart Tolle Summarizes The Journey From Sleep To Spiritual Awakening

How much of your waking time are you fully awake? On the other hand, how often do you stumble through the day on autopilot, half-asleep and out of contact with yourself, instead of feeling connected and alive?

An alternate reality paradigm suggests that our normal consciousness is really a kind of “sleep” from which we sometimes “wake up” into a more intense and complete reality. Let's briefly explore the process and implications of this "awakening" in order to better grasp it's meaning.

The methods we human beings have used throughout history to induce awakening experiences, include meditation, sex, sports, psychedelic drugs, and sleep deprivation. Masters of wisdom realized that higher states of consciousness were normal and natural so they sought to make “wakefulness” our normal state again. They regarded the awakening impulse as evidence of the Universal Mandate to rise and shine as regenerated, god-like ascended human beings!

You are a human being. These two words not only describe who you are as a member of a particular species but, if examined more deeply, also point to the twofold nature of your identity. Human is who you are on the level of form; that is to say, your body and mind. Those two aspects of your form identity make up your conditioned self. That self is conditioned by genetics and the environment, as well as other factors as yet unknown to science.

Being, on the other hand, points to the essence of who you are as timeless, formless, and unconditioned consciousness. Human and being, form and essence, are ultimately not separate, in the same way that a wave or ripple on the surface of the ocean is not separate from the ocean or from any other wave or ripple, although it may appear to be so.

Being, or pure consciousness, emanates from the Universal Source of all life — God — as light emanates from the sun. Unlike the sun, however, the Source does not exist in space and time. It is unmanifest and therefore inconceivable, so there is nothing you can say about it. However, your consciousness emanates from the Source, so you can never be separate from it, just as a ray of sunlight cannot be separate from the sun but always remains connected with it.

The Source emanation pervades the entire cosmos — which is to say, our dimension of space and time — and it is the intelligence underlying and guiding the evolution of what we perceive as the physical universe. So the universe, including human beings, was not just created in the distant past but is still in the process of being created. It’s a work in progress, so to speak. You need to understand this basic premise to be able to appreciate and derive great benefit from the idea that your own personal evolution is not just behind you, it stretches before you into infinity as well!

Furthermore, and contrary to the creed of our mainstream culture, there is direction and purpose behind the evolutionary process. Where it is going, however, is beyond all imagination. What we can say is that the evolutionary impulse behind the process is the growth of consciousness. The universe wants to become more conscious, and the main life purpose for all human beings is to come into alignment with that universal purpose. Seen from a higher perspective, of course, all that exists is already in alignment with it, even if it seems to be opposed to that purpose, but it is aligned only unconsciously. Entering into conscious alignment with universal purpose is an amazing evolutionary leap!

However, what does it really mean for human beings at their current evolutionary stage to “become more conscious” or to “awaken”? If I had to put it in a nutshell, I would define it as “disidentification from thinking.” When you realize that the voice in your head, your incessant compulsive thinking, is not who you are, then you have begun to awaken.

A new dimension of consciousness has arisen, which we could call awareness, presence, or wakefulness. You haven’t fallen below thought; you have risen above it. Now you can use thought instead of being used by it. Your sense of self shifts from identification with your mental positions and narratives to the alive presence within you, which is consciousness itself. You realize the being behind the human, so to speak. Something that transcends your conditioned personality begins to emerge. You realize your essential identity as unconditioned consciousness itself, and you can verify within yourself the truth of Jesus’s words: “You are the light of the world.”

Although the case for this evolutionary Leap can be supported by plentiful conceptual clarifications regarding wakefulness, as well as many highly interesting firsthand accounts by people who have experienced that shift in consciousness, you cannot truly understand the meaning of awakening except through personally awakening. This transformation entails transcendence of discursive thinking and concepts. The concepts, however, can be helpful if used rightly, as pointers toward realization rather than as ultimate explanations or mental constructs that you need to believe in.

In any case, the contemplation of the "Big Picture" of The Journey From Sleep To Spiritual Awakening offers comfort and assurance that there is a divine plan for humanity. It's encouraging implications can be of real benefit to support readers who are either already undergoing the awakening process or who have reached a point of readiness, perhaps as a result of experiencing a deep crisis, a loss, or some kind of psychological turmoil in their lives. Familiarity with this evolutionary scheme can greatly assist those readers in processing what is happening to them and coping with the confusion and/or disorientation that often accompanies the initial stages of this shift in consciousness. Others may discover that they have already had awakening experiences without realizing it or that they have been going through a gradual awakening for some time without recognizing it for what it is.

The fact that enormous collective challenges almost certainly lie ahead for humanity — most of them self-created by the unawakened, egoic state of consciousness that still has the majority of humans in its grip — should not be interpreted as an indication that a more widespread awakening is not going to occur. The opposite is probably the case: the crises we are experiencing and the greater turmoil to come, may act as a catalyst for a collective shift in consciousness. As an inspired speaker puts it: “The evolutionary leap was already under way before these problems became so serious, but perhaps it has become — and is becoming — more powerful as a result of them.”

Challenges are the lifeblood of all evolution. Every life-form, from plants to animals to humans, evolves as a response to the challenges it encounters. Your comfort zone is not the most likely place where you are going to find spiritual awakening, although the ego may tell you otherwise. If you look to people, places, things, or circumstances for fulfillment or happiness, you will be disappointed again and again.

Don’t tell the world, “Make me happy!” You would be placing an impossible demand on it and condemning yourself to perpetual frustration. Instead, allow the world to make you conscious. You may find that every challenge, every obstacle that life seems to put in your path, is an opportunity for awakening, for becoming present, or for deepening the state of presence. Many challenges you encounter, whether of a personal or collective nature, will have been created by human unconsciousness, either your own or that of other people. Every seeming obstacle to your happiness or fulfillment is a potential portal into presence! Just modify your response to it and see what happens. Your life is not determined by what happens to you, but by how you respond to what happens. Most importantly, don’t add to the collective unconsciousness, which manifests particularly in the media and politics, through your reactivity. Bring the light of consciousness to every encounter, every problem, and every Facebook post.

Life always gives you what you need, and right now it has reminded you about this Big Idea, which you can use as a compass-guide and companion to survive psychologically through these challenging times.

As we explore more of this inward and outward journey, at one point it become possible to
keep our eyes open and enter into deeper levels of consciousness in which the outer reality
becomes increasingly symbolic and the inner movements and outer movements merge into a
seamless flow of events without any gulf in between them - a single unbroken field of
awareness. In such movements we can begin to perceive that the outer material crust of
reality is only a veil and behind it plays greater universal forces acting through multitude of forms.

We Are the Universe Looking Back at Itself

“You—in your fundamental existence—are the total energy that constitutes this universe, playing that it’s you… Playing that it’s this particular organism… And even playing that it’s this particular person… Because the fundamental game of the world is a game of hide and seek. That is to say that the colossal reality—the energy that is everything… that is a unitary energy… that is ONE—plays at being many.” ~ Alan Watts

If, as Carl Sagan famously intuited, “We are a way for the cosmos to know itself,” then it stands to reason that we get to know ourselves better through a personalized unfolding of the cosmos –that is to say, interdependently.

Understanding that we are the tip of the spear of the universe interdependently shooting through space will get us further than getting hung-up on being a divisive counter-force independently moving against space.

It’s absolutely mind-boggling that everything is connected. And yet it must be the case. Perceptually, it defies logic and reasoning. And yet, actually, despite our perception of things, it is perfectly logical and reasonable. It’s like squaring a circle in our heads, using the power of imagination, and somehow succeeding despite the limits of knowledge.

As Frank Herbert said, “Deep in the human unconscious is a pervasive need for a logical universe that makes sense. But the real universe is always one step beyond logic.” So it goes

Truly grasping the fact that we are the universe looking back at itself is a powerful tool in our ontological arsenal. It brings more wonder and astonishment to our curiosity knowing that the stars we see “out there” are the same atomically as the stars inside us.

It comes around full-circle. Self-as-cosmos and Cosmos-as-self, interdependently looking back at ourselves looking forward through us. Wow! What a ride!

Let’s break it down by comparing and contrasting the difference between cosmic insignificance and cosmic significance, while keeping in mind that “we are all just scientists, trying to make sense of the stars inside us” (Christopher Poindexter.)

Cosmic Insignificance:

“To conceive of ourselves as fragmentary matter cohering for a millisecond between two eternities of darkness is very difficult.” ~ Sebastian Faulks

Perceptually, everything is separate and finite, differentiated and indifferent. Things seemingly have a beginning and an end. After all, things are “things” precisely because we perceive them being (in space-time) right “there” as opposed to being over “there” or “everywhere.”

Perceptually, we were born. Perceptually, we will one day die. One infinity is greater than another, but we don’t know how or why. Inside the box of conscious observation, after the infinite universe has collapsed out of its infinite wavefunction and into its finite wavefunctions, there is the perturbed observer, precariously perceiving an infinite reality using finite faculties.

Our finite significance is crushed under the mighty Infinite. Our meager musings are but a flash-in-the-pan on the greater fire of Eternity. The eternal darkness that came before us is dwarfed only by the eternal darkness that will come after us.

The infinite inter-connectedness of all things seems illusory at best when we’re faced with the inevitable slap-in-the-face of death. Mortality is a crushing defeat, an ever looming specter. Even as we stand proud and strong in our human skin, daring the gods and taming the fates; we understand on some level that it’s all for naught.

Our bodies will decay. Our minds will forget. Our soul’s fire will someday be unlit. Our time is Now, but what is Now compared to the fixed past and the unfixed future? Our significance is crushed by Time. And yet, it is also revived by turning the tables on Time and using imagination to transcend our knowledge.

As Andre Malraux surmised, “The greatest mystery is not that we have been flung at random between the profusion of matter and of the stars, but that within this prison we can draw from ourselves images powerful enough to deny our nothingness.”

Cosmic Significance:

“You are immortal; you exist for billions of years in different manifestations, because you are Life, and Life cannot die. You are in the trees, the butterflies, the fish, the air, the moon, the sun. Wherever you go, you are there, waiting for yourself.” ~ Don Miguel Ruiz

Within the infinite sets of reality (Cantor’s Set Theory), there is a null set: a set void of all things, where existence somehow doesn’t exist. It is infinite nothingness. It is pure unreality.

Within this set is all the infinite realities (governing Everett’s Many-worlds interpretation) where you have never existed, or where you died at birth, or died when you were five, or ten, or twenty. Thus it is a null set. For as Epicurus stated, “Death is nothing to us, since when we exist, death is not present to us, and when death is present, we have no existence.”

But, as living, breathing aspects of a cosmos perceiving itself, these infinite null sets are irrelevant. What is relevant are the infinite sets where we do exist (at least perceptually).

We are the walking, talking, meditating personification of life unfolding into life, despite both entropy and the infinite null set. Within these infinite sets of life, it doesn’t matter how many times we die, or what happens after death, because that’s all just irrelevant null-set entropy that doesn’t concern life itself.

What matters is this life, this eternal life unfolding within this infinite moment. Sure it’s counterintuitive. Sure it defies perception. But, then again, life defies entropy. And so too should our imaginations defy reality.

As Nietzsche wittily opined, “No artist tolerates reality.” And we are artists all. We do this so as to smooth out the ontological cul-de-sac. To make it less rough around the edges, with less existential angst. As Ralph Waldo Emerson poetically surmised, “As the traveler who has lost his way, throws his reins on his horse’s neck, and trusts to the instinct of the animal to find his road, so must we do with the divine animal who carries us through this world.”

Our cosmic significance is discovered through an imaginative intuition that reveals how all things are connected, and how we are connected to all things, unfolding through time and space, and through infinite realities (sets) and infinite multiverses (greater infinities).

We are the universe looking back at itself, a way for the cosmos to know itself, despite the cosmic insignificance of the seemingly finite amount of time we have. In fact, it is precisely because of the finite amount of “time” we have (perceptually) that makes things beautiful, astonishing, and full of meaning.

Without it, without the power of imagination, and our intuitive connection with all things, everything would be merely everything without any significance. And there’s the rub, the catch 22, the perpetual paradox – meaning exists because of our cosmic insignificance, and yet meaning is our cosmic significance.

And so we struggle with our mortal coils. And so we wrestle with the demons created from our own anxiety with death. So be it. There is gold in the brambles. There is meaning within the meaninglessness. There is medicine in the thorns. As Meister Eckhart profoundly stated, “We are all Mothers of God, for God is always needing to be reborn.”

Do many of you really think that we are so important as to be intertwined somehow with the entire cosmos? That we somehow are in some sort of control and are actually running things? That you are more than just an organism existing in this particular time in a particular space?I'm sorry friends but that's a bunch of malarkey based on the premise that we all have some kind of inherent importance.I don't believe it for a second lol.I do think that in this vast universe there are all sorts of life forms, some so advanced and some so simple and they exist naturally. No stoned aliens or some awakening of the human species just around the corner. There is no Dec 21 2012 or Annunaki coming to save us from ourselves. No planet X that's going to knock us off our axis lol.Just a communication blitz created by the interweb and the myriad of ideas that we are all exposed to because of it..I'd like to ascend to a greater existence or meaning for my life, unfortunaely I'm just a ham n egger human being.Nothing particularly special about you me or anyone else.Get a grip folks

What is Cosmic Consciousness?

What is Cosmic Consciousness?

art-changes-consciousness_feature.jpg

Without consciousness, nothing is experienced, either “in here” or “out there.”

https://www.chopra.com/articles/what-is-cosmic-consciousness#sm.01p7egtj11btd3u112v2ct5ej4bnc
What is Cosmic Consciousness? By Deepak Chopra, M.D.

We are so used to assigning consciousness only to human thought that it takes some adjustment to see it as universal, or cosmic, applying at all levels. But the label applied to mystics, saints, and sages, both East and West, really denotes those who have escaped the limitations of everyday perception. Their experiences supply abundant evidence—thousands of years’ worth—that the mind can look at itself and experience what consciousness is. If you strip away all religious associations, higher consciousness is observational and experiential; the mind looks directly at itself rather than outward at things. Things constitute Maya in the Indian tradition, a word somewhat misleadingly translated as “illusion” but which works better if understood as “appearance” or “distraction.” It also implies impermanence. The world “out there” appears to be self-sustained, distracting us from the truth: Without consciousness, nothing is experienced, either “in here” or “out there.” Cosmic consciousness, then, isn’t just real—it’s totally necessary. It rescues physics and science in general from a dead end—the total inability to create mind out of matter—and gives it a fresh avenue of investigation. The Higgs boson has gotten us a bit closer to a unified field theory—only a bit—but we are still far away from a full theory of quantum gravity. In many versions of superstring theories, the so-called M-theories, it is deduced that a vast number of parallel universes exist, all forming what is called the multiverse. But the multiverse cannot be an explanation of why this particular universe of ours is what it is. Having a vast number of universes emerging from empty space still does not explain why consciousness is what it is in our universe. Quantum theory has reached the point where the source of all matter and energy is a vacuum, a nothingness that contains all the possibilities of everything that has ever existed or could exist. These possibilities then emerge as probabilities before “collapsing” into localized quanta, manifesting as the particles in space and time that are the building blocks of atoms and molecules. Where do they exist? Where is the exquisite mathematics that we have at our disposal to be found? Some sort of “real space”? That of course makes no sense. The probability of an event (even an event like winning the lottery or flying on the day a blizzard strikes) only exists as long as there is someone to ask the question of what may happen and to measure the outcomes when they occur. So probabilities and other mathematical expressions, which are the foundation of modern quantum physics, imply the existence of observation. Countless acts of observation give substance and reality to what would otherwise be ghosts of existence. Such a conception is made less bizarre once you realize that consciousness operates the same way. Babies are born with the potential to walk, speak, read, and do mathematics. It’s possible to locate which areas of the brain will eventually produce these abilities, but until then, they exist as pure potentials. If you are wedded to materialism, there must be a molecule (DNA) that functions as the source of speaking, walking, reading, and doing mathematics, but such an assumption falls apart very quickly, since:

1) It’s impossible to credit that DNA knows math, which would in essence give it a mind.

2) Can we really believe that Shakespeare, and all other producers of words, get their inspiration from amino acids, enzymes, and proteins, which is what DNA actually produces?

It is more elegant and far easier to accept as a working hypothesis that sentience exists as a potential at the source of creation, and the strongest evidence has already been put on the table: Everything to be observed in the universe implies consciousness. Some theorists try to rescue materialism by saying that information is encoded into all matter, but “information” is a mental concept, and without the concept, there’s no information in anything, since information by definition must ultimately contain meaning (even if it is a sequence of 0’s and 1’s as in computer language), and only minds grasp meaning. Does a tree falling in the forest make no sound if no one is around to hear it? Obviously not. The crash vibrates air molecules, but sound needs hearing in order for these vibrations to be transformed into perception. The entire universe is a matter of transformation whereby something is available to be turned into perception. We’ve proposed that consciousness is that something—if there’s another candidate, we’re not aware of one that can pass the acid test: Make it turn into thoughts, feelings, images, and sensations. Science isn’t remotely close to turning the sugar in a sugar bowl into the music of Mozart or the plays of Shakespeare. Randomness will not give you any of that. Your brain converts blood sugar into words and music, not by some trick of the molecules in the brain, since they are in no way special or privileged. Rather, your consciousness is using the brain as a processing device, moving the molecules where they are needed in order to create the sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell of the world. The old bugbear about subjectivity being too vague, personal, and unreliable in comparison to the objectivity of facts and data needs to be squashed. Why can’t consciousness be precise and organized? It certainly is when the brain, which physically correlates to mind, is examined. Science itself is an activity in consciousness; therefore, degrading consciousness as being beneath science is a self-contradiction, and will lead nowhere. Another bugbear is the complexity and arcane nature of modern science. As physics stands, we can safely conclude that the universe is gushing out of the quantum vacuum right this moment with mathematical precision as described by the probabilistic rules of quantum field theory and, ultimately, the probabilistic rules of superstring theory and quantum gravity. If that’s Greek to the lay person, it’s not because consciousness cannot be precise and technical. What’s at fault is simply that physics is highly specialized, and that’s not enough to raise it above everyday experience, which depends on the same mechanics of thought, perception, and transforming raw data into the world around us. The way to comprehend modern physical theory is with advanced mathematics which cannot be easily visualized. In fact, everyday experience has an advantage over advanced physics. The activity of the quantum vacuum and superstrings, the potential for creating a “bubble universe” out of nothing, the existence of a pre-created state that isn’t bound by space and time but can create space and time, the existence of “dark” matter and energy as constituting 96% of post-Big Bang creation—and much else in advanced physics—has been accepted because a set of data (and sometimes not even that) and mathematical theory both imply some hidden truth. In everyday life, you get to experience the miracle of transformation that causes a three-dimensional spatial world and one-dimensional temporal world to manifest before your very eyes. The great advantage of experience is that it isn’t theoretical. Reality is never wrong, and all of us are embedded in reality, no matter what model we apply to explain it. Reality is waiting for us to creep closer to understanding its mysteries. In the meantime, it won’t falter or come to an end. Reality will remain our home, our source, and the ground state of our being far beyond the lifetime of the foreseeable universe.

WELCOME TO THE UNIVERSE

WELCOME TO THE UNIVERSE

Princess Jupiter Jones greets her subjects

For thousands of years, humanity has peered into the night sky and wondered "who is out there?" Since time immemorial people on this island earth have dreamed of going beyond wondering to experience for themselves the reality and spirituality of life beyond our world. Today we still ponder about life in the universe and theorize about a greater community of intelligent life whose members trade, travel and interact with one another; we speculate about the birth and death of civilizations across the stars; and we envision a greater plan and purpose and progress of life in all galaxies. We are entering a greater universe, filled with forces and influences that we have not yet learned how to counteract. We are entering a greater panorama of life, and we must prepare for this. Humanity is emerging into a greater community of intelligent life. However, for these possibilities and these advantages to be realized, humanity must prepare and come to terms with what life in the universe is really like. It is vast, encompassing the entire spectrum of evolution—the evolution of technology, the evolution of societies and the evolution of spiritual awareness and ethics. It is vast and incomprehensible. It is the greater environment into which humanity is now emerging. isolation has given us a naiveté that has left us unprepared for the challenges and the opportunities that the greater community itself will present.

Recognizing that we have a deep connection to life in the universe is very important here as we move forward in our exploration of an expanding paradigm. Without this deeper connection, the universe would be too awesome, too immense, too complicated, too difficult and too threatening. It would produce only insecurity and confusion for us. But our connecting to the deeper part of ourselves enables us to gain recognition and a sense of our destiny within the greater community itself. For regardless of the difficulties that we face in our own world and the difficulties in establishing proper and wise engagements with races from beyond our world, there is the fundamental reality that the human family has a destiny in space. We have a destiny to engage with other races, a destiny to grow and, with the proper education and understanding, the possibility of being a free and self-determined race in a vast and difficult universe.

Scientists Now Believe the Universe Itself May Be Conscious

You don’t have to look far to find outlandish theories on the nature of the cosmos and human consciousness.

These days, notions once relegated to science fiction are finding their way into esoteric academic journals, and from there, into mainstream discourse.

One example of this is the Simulation Argument, recently championed by Elon Musk; another is ‘time crystals,’ a tantalizing non-linear phase of matter.

The newest symphony of mind jazz being broadcast across the Internet posits new ideas about the embattled theory of “panpsychism,” or the belief that mind is a fundamental property of the physical universe and is imbued into all states of matter.

A new paper, published by physicist Gregory Matloff, has brought the idea back into scientific discussions, promising experimental tests that could “validate or falsify” the concept of a ubiquitous “proto-consciousness field.”

Matloff also pushes the controversial idea of volitional stars, suggesting there is actually evidence that stars control their own galactic paths.

As absurd as the theory sounds, it has several prominent adherents, including British theoretical physicist Sir Roger Penrose, who introduced panpsychism three decades ago.

Penrose believed consciousness arises from the properties of quantum entanglement.

He and anesthesiologist Stuart Hameroff authored the Orchestrated Objective Reduction (Orch-OR) hypothesis, which asserts, among other things, that consciousness results from quantum vibrations inside microtubules.

In 2006, German physicist Bernard Haisch took the idea further and proposed that consciousness arises within a “quantum vacuum” any time there is a significantly advanced system through which energy flows.

Neuroscientist Christof Koch, another proponent of panpsychism, approaches it from a different angle, using integrated information theory to argue that consciousness is not unique to biological organisms.

“The only dominant theory we have of consciousness says that it is associated with complexity — with a system’s ability to act upon its own state and determine its own fate,” Koch argues.

“Theory states that it could go down to very simple systems. In principle, some purely physical systems that are not biological or organic may also be conscious.”

Matloff and other scientists are moving the argument into a new phase: experimentation. Matloff intends to study the behavior of stars, specifically analyzing an anomaly in stellar motion known as Paranego’s Discontinuity.

Matloff wants to know why certain cooler stars appear to emit jets of energy pointed in one direction, a characteristic that seems oddly and inexplicably ubiquitous in the galaxy.

In 2018, he plans to use results from the Gaia star-mapping space telescope to show that the anomaly may be a willful stellar action.

Meanwhile, as Matloff studies cosmic activity on the grandest scale, Koch approaches the experimental phase of the theory using brain-impaired patients.

He wants to know if their information responses match underlying neurochemical foundations of consciousness.

He plans to test this by wiring the brains of mice together to see if their minds merge into a larger information system.

Panpsychism certainly has critics, as well. In an article for The Atlantic entitled “Why Panpsychism Is Probably Wrong,” Keith Frankish writes:

“Panpsychism gives consciousness a curious status. It places it at the very heart of every physical entity yet threatens to render it explanatorily idle.

“For the behavior of subatomic particles and the systems they constitute promises to be fully explained by physics and the other physical sciences.

“Panpsychism offers no distinctive predictions or explanations. It finds a place for consciousness in the physical world, but that place is a sort of limbo.”

The quote expresses a general sense that panpsychism oversimplifies the hard problem of consciousness in the universe, an opinion many scientists share.

However, Matloff, Penrose, and other proponents continue undertaking the job of venturing outside the margins of accepted science to try reconciling intractable contradictions and anomalies exposed by quantum theory.

Pan-Psychism
The Universe may be capable of consciousness

A new scientific concept has recently come to light, which scientists are calling "Pan-Psychism." Pan-Psychism says that the universe could be capable of consciousness, which could change everything.

For quite some time, scientists have been working to understand the universe, where it came from, and why we are here.

However, they have often come up short until now. The scientist responsible for such a notion is Gregory Matloff, and his ideas are shocking, to say the least.

According to Matloff, a physicist at New York City College of Technology, in his recently published paper, humans could be like the rest of the universe, in substance and in spirit. Futurism reported that a "proto-consciousness field" could extend throughout all space. Basically, in laymen's terms,

The Entire Cosmos Could Be Self-Aware

Another supporter of Pan-Psychism is Christof Koch of the Allen Institute for Brain Science. He says that biological organisms are conscious because when they approach a new situation, they are able to change their behavior in order to thwart a bad situation. Due to this view, he is trying to see if he can measure the level of consciousness a being displays.

In order to accomplish this, he will be running a number of experiments, including one that includes wiring the brains of two mice together to see if the information will flow between the two like a fused, integrated system would.

"The only dominant theory we have of consciousness says that it is associated with complexity - with a system's ability to act upon its own state and determine its own fate," Koch argues. "Theory states that it could go down to very simple systems. In principle, some purely physical systems that are not biological or organic may also be conscious."

As it stands, Pan-Psychism is just in the experimental phase. However, if scientists are able to prove their theory, it could shake the world of science to its core. What do you think, is the universe conscious?

Hello FreeUrMind! Thanks for your support! All my life I have wondered about how everything works, so I am constantly on the lookout for new and controversial theories concerning our "reality." For me it is not enough to merely consume and pollute; it is not enough to subsist as a sub-proletariat obsessively engaged in defeatist "slave talk;" for I recognize the dreary nature of societally-sanctioned existence in which we are born in a "box" [hospital] - we subsist in a "box" [dwelling] - we are programmed in another "box" [school] - then we effort in a box [office/warehouse etc.] - then finally our husks are disposed of in a "box" - [cremation/burial]. Therefore let's bust out of all those boxes and spread our wings of imagination so we can fly way up high to get a breath of fresh air and see the big picture! My divergent attitude was encouraged by this following observation from 466 years ago:

"In their study of Nature's secrets, they not only find wonderful pleasure for themselves, but they believe that they please the author and maker of Nature. For they think that in the manner of other artificers, He has exposed this machine of the universe to man's view because man alone is able to contemplate it, and that therefore a careful observer and eager admirer of his workmanship is dearer to him than a dull and unmoved being who looks upon this great spectacle like an animal incapable of thought. -- Sir Thomas More's "Utopia" - 1551 A.D.
