I was wondering what happen to them also. Since i have some of their GHaze and Blowfish seeds. I guess i'll find out in due time. If they live up to all the hype.. Seen some really nice pictures of the Ghaze and Blowfish, so i guess i'm stoked that i got some. Would love to see more pictures if anyone is growing any. Very nice thread
Take care,
BG
Very nice FJ, a very sharp looking plant. I remember some plants had alot of pink color to them. Very pretty plants and a nice high from what i've heard. Thanks for sharing your picture with us.
Take care,
BG
Blowfish will GDW - for unknown reasons the Blowfish (katsu´s + jojorizo´s ) clone only bang my brain outta my head everytime ... this is some serious strong herb
50-55 days flowering on soil -
Im not sure i just know they were Blowfish f2 got from a buddy of mine in a trade - real deal trade - IMHO they have to be from the birds or some of jojo´s f2 packs before he started to do S1´s again ...
here s a nugg of Blowfish Jasmine pheno .. - it ripped two friends after a single hit with no mercy ... - serious strong herb as mentioned before but the taste is not my cup of tea
hey all, heres a few shots of a Blowfish plant. seed was from Dogsnob, he said he had bred towards the G13. i believe his original seed were DF testors of the Blowfish.
harvested this plant at 47 days with completely cloudy trics. very fast plant, and the yield was big, the head decent. like Fj, i didnt care for the taste at all, was a funky tart astringent smoke.
also have some DF test beans, which are of african heritage, dont know anything else on um. have 5 packs of Hazy's VB F2s, but been hesitant to start um as all ive heard is bad on the offerin. seems wierd as hazy had said the shit blew him away. im gonna run um here soon, as i should get a few good females in 50 beans ya would think.
ran 20 seedlings of BOH's VB F2s, got 9 girls flowering now, had to kill off one girl as she had chronic chlorosis, likely from some sort of mutation as I tried to get it healthy for 2 months.
In veg they were stinky as hell, some of the stinkiest veg plants I've had, very skunky. That turned into a strong grapefruit smell in early flower, developing some wicked sweetness on top of the citrius/GF, overpowering it into some sort of candy smell. Definately unlike anything I have ever grown before.
I kept the best 4 males and will make some F3s once I determine which fems I like best and after I flower the 4 males out fully.
One of the VB girls was hit by my Blockhead male over the last couple weeks (small plant, open pollination) and it's just loaded with seeds.
VB is supposed to be better for breeding than smoking so I'll do a little work with it for fun. Supposedly it is close to IBL (*read next post), which seems right as all my girls are stable except one indica leaning girl, but still very similar to the rest. With 8 girls in 2 gals I should have a good amount of VB to test. life is rough all over.
Oh, and CBF, that's one wicked Blowfish. I have katsu's cut in veg now along with his Choc Trip. Should be flowering them both soon.
No bc as i know is a Vb f1 a Kasachstan Hashplant x DurbanFigWidow
so it cant be an IBL -
but im with you that i think that Vb is a better breeder than smoker -as mentioned above all VB crosses kick ass
jep pike very nice pix
you def have a great chance of finding some nice fems/males in 50 f2s !!!
i know hazy and his stuff very well - i heard that pure Vb lacks in psycho activity -really the same like orange bud
ok fj, I was probly relaying the wrong choice of words from a mutual friend of ours.. Something along the lines of being "damn near IBL" in his words. Meant in terms of overall stability, not inbreeding work done.
thanks for correcting me, I have never seen the lineage or description from DF, altho I have seen BOHs description for the F2s.
regardless, it sure does look pretty stable to me, definately more so than any F1 I have grown out yet.
hey Bean, heres DF VB description. i do remember when they first came out, peeps had said the line was IBL.
im lookin forward to um.

Venomberry
Venomberry is an original IBL incorporating dissimilar landraces for
powerful, full body and brain effect, with marked berry flavor and
solid yield. All proceeds from this auction will be equally
distributed among OBSS, Duff and Tommy, the three current charity
auction beneficiaries.
Years back, we tested a batch of seeds collected by a team member
traveling in Uzbekistan, and an outstanding individual was kept of
this Indica landrace, which is used primarily for hash making in its
homeland. It was a very stocky, red-stemmed plant that put out
chunky, powerfully narcotic buds covered in gooey resin in about 56
days.
A heavy-select Durban Fig Widow male was used as pollen donor to pump
up yield and vigor —two areas in which the Uzbek landrace was found
lacking— and add the sativa dimension in the process. The DFW has
been an example of how, in plant breeding, the final product can be
much more than just the sum of its parts: its unusual terpene
signature and delta-9 dominant sativa high clearly surpass either
parent with excellent yield to boot.
The resulting UDFW turned out to be a solid all-around performer,
with a gifted phenotype, glossy dark green leaves and a knock-out
deep, Indica high. One mother in particular stood out on its rhubarb
colors, couch-lock potency and a marvelous berry-cherry taste that
impressed the jaded, “taste first” connoisseurs, but put the party-
oriented, sativa aficionados to sleep.
A selected Chocolate Thai landrace male had its way with our UDFW
clone, and its offspring grown. Then a winning, killer potent Indica
phenotype mother was selected, which we felt best represented the
“venom” that was added to the berry. This especial “venomberry”
specimen was backcrossed using pollen from one of her children,
and then the best .75 was inbred several generations to achieve
IBL status.
Venomberry IBL grows with a manageable, predominantly Indica
phenotype, and shows strong reaction to increased lumens like a
Sativa does. The rhubarb-colored stems are visible even in early
seedlings grown indoors, and the entire plant turns into a joy of
purple and red outdoors under cool weather, courtesy of the Uzbek
genes. Its leaves are dark blue-green, with a plastic-like shiny
texture and blades that turn inward in claw-like fashion, a trait
passed on by the Thai ancestor. Over 4 ounces of krypto-green, top-
shelf bud can be expected from a selected mother flowered at around
12 inches, in resinous long colas. Buds look great and smell
heavenly, rounding up great bag appeal.
The smoke has great lung expansion, and is quite tasty, with
pronounced sweet cherry-berry notes. Indica and Sativa backgrounds
compete against each other within Venomberry fueling a really strong,
abidingly intense high that grounds the body but remains up and clear
in the head, with great mental energy. Venomberry is unique in that
it has medicinal (lower back pain) qualities, without hangover (heavy
eye lids, headache) or crashing in the end.
hey guys .. I was fortunate enough to get ahold of this clone of chocolate trip. It's great and produces some nice cola's if topped 1 time before flowering. Smells like some old school weed from way back in the day. The high is fairly incredible too. it finishes @ 56-63 days depending on how you like your trichs.
Also a look at the blowfish clone. Its another great one IMHO.
Hey all,
I smoked some of Hazey's C99 by Venomberry last night (homegown). Really unusual 'high', didn't really affect my head a great deal instead my heart was beating really fast and then I fell asleep. That was my first hits off the cured goods of this plant, I'll try it again to see if I get a similar effect.
Chocolate Trip (BAH not my thing at all)
BlowFish (Good smoke Top 20)
Green Napalm (Crap pheno's)
Ghaze (best of DH IMHO)
Oxygen #19 (Weak weed horrible Sativa monster that takes forever with no benefits)
Metal Haze (nice taste , but prefer the Ghaze)
Venomberry (Not an IBL even though they state it is decent taste)
Sugar Klingon (Garbage)
Indigo Blue (average blue hybrid)
Columbian Supremo (landrace trash..Nothing unique)
Maybe more those are the ones I can think of...
Only Ghaze is left from the last pack of F1's I just popped that I have saved we will see if there is a keeper I did like Ghaze the most with the Blowfish a close second....
I'll be sure to give my Blowfish much more veg than the Choc Trip then, as I've been hearing similar things WZ. Thanks for confirming it.
Now I know that I only realy need to try the Ghaze or metal haze.
And I definately agree on the Venomberry. Although it's fairly stable, it's still not quite IBL, but from all accounts a good breeder none-the-less. Also, the high is good, but nothing special. The taste and smell are really unique tho, and resin production was good on all 10 females I flowered. I do have one indica pheno that stands out, but it's not quite done yet. I'm looking forward to the crosses with VB more than the smoke.
