Any info on the strains in oaxaca, mexico? I've met a shaman that said that they used shrooms and herbs to see into other dimensions...some really trippy shit.
most common (found all over the world)
panaeolus cinctulus (formerly subbalteatus)
not so common (u.s.):
Psilocybe Cubensis (found mainly along the gulf coast)
psilocybe azurescens (very potent, found in the pacific northwest)
psilocybe cyanescens (also very potent, also found in the pnw)
psilocybe semilanceata (found in western europe, but also in the pnw and possibly in the northeast u.s.)
here is a really great website from john allen, an amazingly knowledgeable man. i believe (could be wrong) that his fave's are liberty caps (p. semilanceata)
its really not safe to go out looking for actives unless you REALLY know what you are doing, i.e. YEARS of steady mycology studies, memorizing ALL of the possible poisonous ones, and getting your toes wet with easy to identify edibles.
not that im saying they were the same ones (look alikes abound )i get ones that look identical to that last one in my yard all the time "northern ny"
