Hello all you organic growers. As you know I'm a tea freak. So, for this grow I think I will make it a tea grow with a basic soil mixture.

25% peat and organic composted peat
25% coco coir
20% perlite
30% worm castings and compost.

I have mixed everything but the coco and have had it sitting, covered for several weeks now.

Here are the subjects at birth through today. They are about two weeks old now. I had a 100% germination rate and survival. They are growing very good now.

So, :respect: :respect: goes out to fjällhöga for that.

and about 2 weeks

I made a quick tea out of worm castings and molasses for their first feeding of sorts.

Placed it in a pillow case and let it soak for a while in some water and the squeeze the castings out into a bowl and add the molasses and watered it in.

Aerated it with a paint mixer. LOL its a quick way to do it.

Until next time....

Here are a few root shots at 2 weeks.

They were fed to day using a passive tea steep.

I added to a gallon of tepid water

30 ml Maxi-Crop liquid seaweed
1/2 TSP Humic acid
1TSP Molasses

they are drying out on the 4 to 5 day now and looks like within a 1 1/2 they will go to the next container size.

Tonight I will start to brew a tea for the soil. I will post up the progress tomorrow.

Hello everyone, Here is a little update for the Venomhead.

First I have transplanted into one gallon containers with an un-amended soil.....kind of.

Now the soil is this.

5-5 gallon buckets of peat
3-5 gallon buckets of perlite or maybe just a shot more.
2-5 gallon buckets of EWC
1 bag Organic composted cow manure.
1 bag of Organic Peat About 1 1/2 bucket
Dolomite lime standard (2 TBS per gallon)

This mix has been sitting for 3 weeks now. I cut out 12 gallons of soil for this transplant.

I added a new mineral additive. Turf Pro.

Here is the link

http://www.turfprousa.com/commercial_store.html

I used the granular type. At 1 TBS per gallon.

I also added just a touch of Hydrolyzed Fish Poop @ 1 TBS per gallon to get them started. I had some laying around to make teas out of so I just added a shot to get them started.

Here are a few shots of the young ones.

They are under floros now and I will flower them @ 60 days.

They are showing some variance. Actually a lot but that is good in my book. It gives me some thing to work with. As you all know they are a cross of Blockhead males (3) and Venomberry 99.

I will next transplant them to 3 gallon for flowering. With coco fiber added.

I will start to brew teas for them in about 1-2 weeks.

I will use Hydrolyzed Fish Poop, EWC, molasses for the first couple of weeks. I have been working on some other mixes I will post up next update.

All are developing well and I will start pruning them at the 4 th internode.

Until the next time........

Hey V-man, I see you've been busy lately! Plants are looking really healthy! Flowering after vegging 60 days, you said? If I'm not wrong, this means we have a small month to wait before you switch them? Can't wait lol!

Do you have plans for this grow, such as making seeds, or finding a/several keeper(s)? Should be really interesting! Private breeders do have some bomb strains at very reasonable prices, my next order will certainly be something along those lines...

Keep up the good work bro, peace! :joint:

Hey Relik, How is it going? I select males and keep them around. I have two of each strain I'm doing now in my other thread. 2 HTC Sunshine males and 2 BB X Shiva males both showing their respective phenos. I will match them with like females and let them do their thing.

As far as the Venomheads go I will keep them all under 24/0 and then at about 6 weeks put them on 18/6 for them to autoflower.

I keep the males in 1 gallon containers then for a while until 12/12. They do get neglected a bit if I get busy but not much.

I will make a bunch of F2's and keep the original parents around and match them again.

PM me if you are interested in the results in detail.

looking good Von i finally made it on time to one of your grow threads!
so that turf pro is kinda like A/n's piranoya?

V

vonforne

Yes, but it is a long term additive. It will be present in the soil for a much greater time than Piranha. It comes in granular form and liquid form. I use the granulas form because I re-cycle my soil.

Alright, I have some root porn for everyone. the kids are developing very well now. It has been two weeks since transplant and the TurfPro seems to be working great. I have massive root development now.

Root pictures:

The plants have seemed to even up a bit this week and are looking great.

I brewed a tea for them with in a 2 gallon mix

Hydolyzed Fish Poop @ 1 TBS per gallon
1 TBS molasses per gallon
1 capfull Kelp per gallon
1.5 TSP K-mag natural (dissolved in hot water) in 2 gallons

I watered in at about 1 quart per plant with 10% or so run off.

Until the next time.......

Good job, Vonforne. Nothing like organics to make a plant happy and us eventually buzzed. Well...you buzzed...lol. The plants look good.

Thanks guys. They are really doing well and I think I will add a few to the flower room before long in the organic thread.

I went through yesterday and femmed the lead shoot on all of them to bring out the branching a bit. I want to get them ready to take clones so I can add some of them to the flowering room in about a week or two. they are getting ready to transplant before long and I will put them in a mix of peat and coco.

Well, its time for the kids to get a tea drink tomorrow.

I have started a tea up for them and here is what it is:

3 handfuls of EWC
4 TBS molasses
A few alfalfa pellets

I have had this tea brewing for 12 hours now and the foam is starting already.

The temps are a steady 77* with the bucket just a little lower because it is sitting on the floor.

Here are some pictures for you all

I use an old sock and just put the EWC in there and pour part the molasses in the sock also. I then pour the other molasses onto the sock.

I go by and squeeze it every now and again to get out the goodies from within. It turns the bucket a nice muddy brown color.

the foam on top is white today but by tomorrow it will be a dark chocolate color and will have a sweet smell to it.

Hi V,

This looks great here! I have a quick question about your use of coco. In your first post you said that you mix all the soil components together except for the coco. I am just curious why you do it that, and not add them all together at the same time?

High Thai, I did not have the coco yet and wanted to give it time to soak and then rinse it a few times first. I have now mixed it into the soil and it is waiting to be transplanted in.

Ok, update time again. This week I seen some good growth on the kids. They have responded well to the tea. I do not see any leaf tip burn so the dose will be increased next time on the tea.

Here are a couple of pictures of the growth. They are starting to push out some side branching now.

There are now two heights of plants and it looks to be about 5 of 5 in each respective size.

So, the bigger ones will be put into the flower room first. Which will be in about a week.

A couple of the bigger ones.

Here is the soil mix.

Organic Peat 3-5 gallon buckets
Composted Organic peat 2-5 gallon buckets
Perlite 2.5-5 gallon buckets
EWC two bags 16 l. each
Mushroom compost @ 1.5 5 gallon buckets
Organic composted Cow manure 1-5 gallon bucket
1 bale of Botnicare coco coir 2-3 5 gallon buckets wet
Powdered Dolomite lime at 1.5 per gallon.

I mix my soil for feel. Now when I added the coco and started to mix it up I noticed this really nice even feeling to the texture. I can't wait to see how they do with the coco in the mix. I have used this mix before but with out the coco. So, I'm looking forward to seeing any positive change.

Here is a picture of the mix

To this I added Fish meal, High P guano, High N guano at about 1/3 strength. 3/4 TBS per gallon. I did this for a light starter.

I'm also going to use a combination of mineral supplements in the soil. Rich Earth @ 10 TBS of mix. And 1 cup of Leonardite.

Thats about it........

Some root porn and then see ya next time.......

Roots are about 3 weeks old.
