Once again this is Salmon Creek BigBud (a particularly excellent
example of Sensi Seeds BigBud circa '95/'96)

search "outdoors in huge containers" over on OG. prolly the largest grow of it so far. sensiabig bud was named after a crick in cali were it was grown. theres a bunch of salmon cricks in cali as well

got confirmation SCBB is the mother of Sensiseeds Big Bud, available clone only

hillbilly tried to stabilize it few years ago

I'm growing a cross of SCBB, it has been crossed with Pine Tar Kush, I havent flowered them yet but I'm expecting good things!!

that select pheno that won the c.c. that year must be top-notch..

I've heard it was '96 vintage, not '89..

And i've heard that '96 tale from multiple ends, not just one user.. (or two)..

Notice in some of Sensi's descriptions "this cut originally from the PNW" and soforth.. LOL!

Does Sensi have an updated catalog by chance? I've got an old '02 one..

disclaimer: i actually like sensi, sensi has yielded a couple decent mommas for me in the past, im simply agreeing with Nspecta.. Sensi could have quite possibly used the original cut for their c.c. trophy, then crossed the winning pheno. :)

Has any1 actually ever smoked any good big bud?? this isnt me trying to take the piss or be a dick, I genuinely want to know because all the big bud ive smoked has been shit.....very little high at all, cant opersuade the guy not to grow it any more because of the huge yield he gets from it.....(this was when i was still buying before i finally decided to drop some seeds) anyway
Ive got a NLXBig bud which is OK...nice yield, the smoke is sound for the day, but nothing special in terms of flavour/appearance. worth having around for the day though.....
so any1, please, do you thinkits worth getting a pack to see or not going on what ive smoked before... Ive heard a lot of perople say that its biggest merit is for crossing to increase the yield of more potent but lower yielding varieties??
any info/or links to info and such appreciated...

I'm with you Harry..
I've tried and tried over and over again to give it a chance, but it's just never "done it" for me. the crosses are good for yield and that's about it, IMHO. even all the nlxbb i've had isn't anywhere NEAR PNW genetics...

the taste is really bland, too. it makes me search for the taste with my tongue a lot and i do not like doing that. you weren't being a dick at all, harry. it's almost common knowledge by now that big bud [aka big dud] is strictly for commercial ops and the such. commercial growers could BANK BIG TIME off this stuff. It's even got good bag appeal [which puts the knife deeper into us actual connoseiurs, lmao!]. I hate smoking a bag of good looking dank just to only find out it yields a "decent" high with zero taste. :(

I am not really sure, because the bigbud i tried from my dealer was good, but nothing great.. one little (pinky sized) bowl definitely got me up there.. and a joint was hard to roll cuz it was pretty gummy, but when rolled, it was pretty good for two people.. for this stuff, i'd let the weed sit out and dry before trying to roll, so it makes a better J, maybe .3 grams to the j, and we were both pretty stoned.. Although im not really sure that it was bigbud, because I cant know its fact until i grew it or saw it grown, but I trust the person, so its a pretty reliable source.. more importantly why would this person hype down something if bigbud is less potent than what i had??

I made an eighth last a week, when i toked about 4 times a day each day, so thats 28 times, about .14 grams every time.. so its not bad.. and i stayed consistently stoned.. able to function in public, but very stoned..

my SCBB is a very decent smoke (I really enjoy it, indica buzz not to strong) , and heavy yielder gonna use it for some next cross perhaps : Salmon Sour Bubble sounds great isn't it ?

I just like it, that's why she's staying in my garden
