OG LST FAQ Submission

No pics, but thanks to buddynugs, I figured out how to recover OG threads from the Google cache.

For what it's worth (and for as long as it's available), here it is:

EDIT: Don't click on the link if you're paranoid about connecting to the dead OG server. It will return the "connection refused" message.

Go to Google and type in some keywords. In my case, it was "Low Stress Training (LST) FAQ Submission" and "lumbo." You have to hit the "from cache" or whatever it says at the bottom of the search engine window, and it will take you to the text. If you try to click on a photo, you get the "connection refused" message when it tries in vain to connect to the OG server.

You can cut-and-paste the text or post a link.

Did you recover the info lumbo?
Well the text anyway?
I used to look at cached pages of sites when they were down to find links inside them to see if all were down, can't believe I did not think of that!!!

Yes, got the text. The pics are gone, but they're not hard to replace.

No FAQ's here to submit it to, however.

I was just checking to see how it works. It does.

Yea, I just seen page 14, my last page in my 3rd grow log, wish I could get page1...
I am pretty sure google only caches one page, I think it is always the last one...

Most are also ok IMO as long as they just do the google search, and if they only click cached page, that is stuff on googles server...

I do not think clicking on any site, or trying to go to overgrow would really hurt anything, bit I do not, and will not till I hear it is up and back running by RC...

You can get your photo's back by searching 'overgrow' and the name of your image and hit images on google.
you might have to filter out, but if you know the name of the image you might find it.
for example 'Low stress training overgrow' search gives you this...

not sure if any of them are yours but it's a good chance...(your avatar shows up on page 4)
I'd coppy out the text and post it here lumbo.

Passion... click the "more results from www.overgrow.com" link when you search there should be a cached page for evey page of the thread.

hmmm, 33,300 images returned for overgrow
i'd say its a safe bet that yours are there PassionForMaryJ and lumbo

just type this into the search field in the image search and it will bring up all photos stored there. narrowing it down to your own pics on the other hand. well, good luck on that one

I see some of my pics in that line-up. I guess there's enough there to put together a pretty good FAQ in any event, LOL. Have to credit Google for the pics, I guess.

So now all we need is an icmag FAQ.

The presence of my avatar is disturbing, however. I mean, I stole that image from the Onion.com, and now somebody else can just lift it off the Google "LST" gallery and use it themselves. How fair is that?

well... i use firefox and downloaded an addon that lets me right click and get the google cache link instead of having to type in that specific page then crawl through google. though i am not at home right now, when i get back if you have any requests i can browse through og and try to find it for you

i was browsing there last night actually. all the faqs are still there.
