ethelene gas?

I was told that you can feminize seeds with ethelene gas .

He said that ethelene gas comes from bannana peels, put seeds in cotton and place in a paper bag with bannana peels and let it sit for a week.

anybody heard of this?

Umm, I thought the ethylene was for helping your plants flower quicker... maybe it works for feminizing, but it certainly isn't a standard use to my knowledge.

thanks guys,

he sent me some grapefruit and 4/4 turned female. So I guess it worked, but I also read that grapefruit is a clone olny strain.

but anyways I just wanted to see if you guys have heard of it.

check out the thread talking about banana peels.
I put some journal article regarding ethylene in 3rd week of veg as a foliar to influence femininity.
I have been doing it for years w/ about a 95% success rate
Florel is the product you want...talk to local nursery. Its made by Monterrey. It is ethephon, but is fully converted to ethylene by the plant upon absorbtion.
BTW most grocery produce is used by orchards now to force ripening of fruit...used for many things

thanks for the info rainbow brother, im definitly gona try some if it soon.

one of them turned male, could of sworn it was female.
here is a pic of them flowering, back left showed first and its at 19 days I think. back right is the male.
