what are they 3 gal pots?

that's how i did half of my last grow. 2- 3'x6' tables each with eight 3g bushes about 2 foot tall. one table of mr. nice and one morning star. i used two 600s over each table so that each lamp was covering 4 plants in a 9 square foot area

the mr nice is such a nice deep narcotic body numbing indica. works wonders on the pack pain

Now Wally, did I understand correctly that you like to dry your herb faster than slower? Do you think that helps the taste/burn?

hey thanks my beans , yep after the next grow ill be swapping to 2 x 600 hps in there , ill have to suss out your pics , thanks for coming ...
well for the dryng cc , i like it fairly fast at first , we have a lot of humidity here so if its too slow it ends up dark green and seems to loose a lot of its flavour and smell , it has to be around 5 days to be touch dry , and i leave the larger stalks on so theres still plenty of moisture available and it can loose it slowly , at the 5 day mark i like to prune it from the larger stalks and slow the drying down then , ideally another week or two curing and being pruned all is well .... i wouldnt do it too quick as ive tasted that harse taste that seems like a real shame given what it can taste like ..... a taste test for you i think one day soon cc ... cheers buddy ..
bartender these are very sweet , candy smelling , havent really noted a cinnnamon smell yet , but it may come when smoked after its dry etc ...

Wally, we have 2 of the seeds labeled "Duck" in flower, about 2.5 weeks. They've never shown the duck features I thought we'd get. And the smell is very sweet, bubblegummy actually. Do you think it was a packaging mixup? They look nice though, probably get pics of em up - some time soon.

Also, I just dried some fandango by hanging it just 2 feet above a 250 grow light, directly in the path of a fan. So, a really fast-drying method... The shit tastes and burns better than any herb I've ever dried in the slower way! Once I accidentally dried a diesel plant too quickly - or so I thought. It was some of the best tasting and burning herb we'd done up to that point. My point being: perhaps a 4-5 day dry, that gets the buds nearly bone-dry, is better than this week-long (or longer) drying method? It really works for us. Of course, there's too fast. If you're applying direct heat and extremely dry atmoshpere to the buds, they'll taste shitty, and burn just as splendidly. However, because of the humidity in the grow room, the plants dried quickly, but retained the excellent quality of fresh herb. The smoke leaves the nose in a dream-like stream of soft, white smoke. Truly the quality we all look to achieve in our smoke. I'm so impressed with the quality, that I'm staking our current harvest on it... We're drying several strains on a screen in the same environment that the fandango was dried in. Warm and somewhat humid - the same environment that tobacco is cured in ;) Ever see them long sheets of tan-colored tobacco leaves? How do you think they got that color? The dry and the cure - are my chief suspects in the matter. :smoker2: So I'll let you know what the final quality of the smoke is.

It seems to me that any time a bud is put into a curing jar or bag too soon - before the moisture's really gone - the buds get dark green and taste like shit (comparatively), as Wally was saying... Even slowing the process down too much, too early, can wreak the same havok on a drying crop, imo anyhow...

The whole idea of getting better quality from a faster-dried bud was introduced to me by you a few months ago, in a post by you Wally. My respect for you and your skills led me to risk some bud for the cause. :p The experiment yielded us the nicest dry ever! :tup: Thanks for the idea.

Next topic: Why is this post getting so long. This is getting silly now... Stop that!

glad you found that drying method worked for you too mate , nice to be able to retain the nice bud colour aswell like this method will ... hope your "off type bubblegum ducks" come out well , what my reckinen is is that they are one of the original crosses a mate did after we made our duck, i think there were some webbed ones , but also non webbed aswell , probably well worth hangin onto cc ., lookin foward to seeing the pics , should smell quite strong if memory serves ...
